Only one of the wherholders held in the first cage was saved, the rest struck with surface of the lake with enough force to render them unconscious. Soon there were only ripples to mark where they had been, and little time to save them before they drowned.

Back on shore the battle raged between dragon, wher, and human alike. Ichor and blood flowed and snarls and screams filled the air.

Acriculeth, bearing F'io in his talons, swooped down to the ground and set her carefully on her feet. Snaking his head around he fixed blazing red eyes on the second cadge and, just like the bronze before him, he grasped it. Rather than lifting it off this ground however he tore the door clean off before taking wing again. <That is how we deal with it!> he snapped to the other bronze as he raced towards the lake, towards the spot where his rider had disappeared.

Instructions

For dragons in the air!

The following characters are in the water:

Rilli - Dizzy
E'lov - Moonlit
A'nos - Tawny

- Wherhold dragons in the air may continue to engage in combat with Trine dragons, or go fishing for fallen wherholder. Fishing costs an action, and must be bolded at the top of your post.

- Once a wherhold dragon has grabbed a wherholder they may escape using a free action (just an RP post basically.)

- Trine dragons who attack a dragon who is fishing for wherholders do double damage.

For Wherholders from cadge two, and F'io

- Those who were in cadge two are now free to get to dragons and escape! You just need to find a dragon willing to take you and use an action to get onto them. The dragon may then attempt to run for the hills (50+ for success) or use two turns in which they cannot attack or defend to escape for sure.

- Cadge two people and F'io may engage in combat but they are unarmed, have a -10 penalty to HP, and -2 to all rolls. This affects your accuracy, your final damage, your defence, and any attempt to re-arm.

Everyone else

- Feel free to continue combat as normal!

- Wherholders who came on the rescue mission may get to a dragon at any time just like the saved people from cadge two: find a dragon willing to take you and use an action to get onto them. The dragon may then attempt to run for the hills (50+ for success) or use two turns in which they cannot attack or defend (just RPing them shaking off attackers and getting into the sky) to escape for sure.

The Nozomi
D'ei - attacking R'an
1d6 + 5
Damage: 6

He shouldn't have gone after V'ell. Many people made that mistake; V'ell stood tall and angry, fierce, deadly, terrifying when needed. D'ei, shorter, plainer, most unassuming, did not look as dangerous as her snarling weyrmate.

They both had their tempers. And D'ei - well, d'ei had a violent one, especially when a person lashed out at V'ell or their dragons. V'ell showed her anger on her sleeve but D'ei, furious with the childs idiocy to both fight them and to fight with a terrified hatchling, stabbed at him again in time with V'ells attack. They'd fought together too long to not understand the eye contact in the thick of battle. Thrown off somewhat by a bellow behind her, d'ei did not stab as true as possible but - still.

Let the child dodge that.

V’ell - Attacking R'an
HP: 26/30
Damage: 1d6+6 (+3 bladed, +2 hand-to-hand)

9 damage
---

He was taking her on - unarmed, untrained, and absolutely no match for her. V'ell made no effort to block the punch, taking the full weight of it to gauge his strength. An admirable effort, but not nearly enough. "Brave!" she called, a little mockingly. "Dumb, but brave."

Well, nobody could say that he hadn't had a chance to get out while the getting was good. It was time to close in for the kill. Turning away from the baby dragon, V'ell caught D'ei's eye, a silent signal to coordinate their attacks - and then her knife slashed out at R'an again.

R'an - dodging V'ell + D'ei
HP: 13/25
defense: 1 +1 = 2
damage taken: 13
HP now Equal = 0
Status: Now Unconsious

(*)

R'an realized his mistake as his world started to go blurry as he was stabbed somewhere in the back region of his body. He was in too much pain to tell. He staggered to the side as he felt another pain blossom on his side. Who had stabbed him where? It didn't matter to him. His skin was on fire. Worse than any wherry bite, kick or scratch and worse than being trampled by a runner beast. He grunted and staggered his way out of the way. He could barely see and the bellows around him seemed so far away.

'Mine!' A voice was calling to him and he moved towards it, falling to his knees as he was able to open his eyes for a moment, seeing Syriacuth running towards him and was suddenly over him, his dark blue wings spreading as if to shield him. He felt drops on his cheek as he fell to the ground. It was Ichor from Syriacuth's own minor wounds. R'an's last thought before falling into that darkness was, 'I'm sorry.'

He blacked out.

((there's my human...on the ground... totally passed out lol))

Meepfur
Kesisk, Attacking Syriacuth
HP: 50/50
Attack: 1d8+4
Accuracy: -5
7+4=11 damage

This was easy! Kesisk rather liked fighting littleBigs, certainly more than the really big ones. The gold rumbled a little when one of the allyhumans attacked 'her' target, but she didn't have time to do more than that. There was a dragon to kill.

She snapped her jaws, trying to get hold of his wing and shake. She would break him!

Syriacuth - Defending against V'ell
HP: 32/55
Defense: 2
Jr.: -2
2 + 1 = 3
-2 = 1
Damage taken: 10

(*)

((attack happens before Syriacuth runs to R'an's side))

Syriacuth was trying to get to his rider, maybe he could push R'an out of the way or help him some way. He was able to avoid one attack from the large wher but the next one came and he wasn't able to react in time. His wing was caught in the beasts jaws and Syriacuth let out a roar as the bone crunched.

'Mine!' He shouted to his rider as he saw him fall to his knees.

He was able to pull back when the big Gold appeared to distract the Wher and Syriacuth ran to his rider's side. standing over him to protect him as best he could Whimpering as his broken wing raised as best it could. Even as it dripped ichor onto his rider's cheek. He called for his rider after he whispered his apology and continued to stand over R'an hissing at those around him. He needed to protect his rider. Despite his pain. He needed to get him out of there.

Pressing his wings to his body, he was able to grab the shirt collar of R'an's clothing and pull him just alittle out of the way. Not enough to escape the fray on the ground, but enough that he could keep an eye on his rider and defend himself at the same time.

((how was that?))

V'ail attacking V'ell
18/25 Hp
1d6 + 3(Blade) + 2 (Hand to hand) =
Hit! 11 Damage

The blade hurt as it cut into him, and his brother was going to pitch a fit when he returned. V'ail didn't care as he swiped at V'ell, slashing at the raiding woman rider. He just had to keep on his feet and keep moving.

V’ell - Attacking V'ail
HP: 15/30
Damage: 1d6+6 (+3 bladed, +1 hand to hand)

12 damage
---

The weyrling's knife bit deeply into her side as V'ell moved to protect her weyrmate, but she gave no indication of the pain. "Run, little weyrling," she snarled, "run while you've got the chance - or don't. Either way you're just another insignificant obstacle."

And she continued to force the attack, knife flashing as she struck at V'ail.

Zarth - Going Fishing

V'ell no longer paid any heed to the wherholders in the water - too absorbed in the heady endorphin-fuelled battle lust, as usual. Honestly, between the two of them, Zarth's Flights were less disruptive to the pair's overall emotional state than V'ell's bouts of violence... Although at least the violence was Wherhold-sanctioned.

Regardless, Zarth had a job to be doing, and she would keep on doing it whether her rider was giving her orders or not. She failed to catch the falling riders before they struck the water, but at least they were no longer moving targets. Scooping up the nearest of the three, she carefully cradled the sodden figure of A'nos in her claws before winging upwards.

Lycath - Going Fishing

Lycath couldn't catch any of them as they fell; D'ei getting cut up like a very nice steak always distracted him slightly. He'd been about to turn, to zip over and snatch the little crimson of the attacking man up into the air and drop her into the water like a wherholder to drown when Zarth streaked down past him in a bolt of green.

D'ei lived, scrambling from the line of fire, and that left Lycath free to not murder an infant but rather dive to the water and pluck out E'lov from the waves.

D'ei! Are you well? He called back to his bondmate from between the streaks of pain and rage.

Yeah, shaffing peachy keen. Get that idiot out of here!

Not without you. I can kill the little one, if you'd like. Lycath darted back towards the land, keening despite the human cutched in his foreclaws.

D'ei attacking V'ail
4/30 HP
1d6 + 2(Hand-to-Hand)
Damage: 3

Lycath would drop everything to protect her and carry her off if D'ei decided to pass out. She felt near enough to it when V'ell darted out to protect her in her rather blood covered state. D'ei dipped to the side, around the two fighting riders. She had no knife within reaching range - B'ns had his knife tucked behind her, away from other hands... along with her own. What she had were firsts, smal with hard knuckles from years of punching things such as V'ail... and his kidneys.. The small brownrider grit her now blood-pink teeth and moved in to punch the young man as hard as she could where she best knew he organ to be.

Tatath- Going Fishing

Tatath hissed and angrily back winged away from the gold. She would get her revenge but Canoake wanted her to get the prisoners. With Zarth grabbing A'nos, the agile green dove and bugling her support to her fellow green. Carefully, she reached and grabbed for Rilli. I have one of ours!

Tatath pumped her wings and headed up. Stay safe, my rider!

Fi'o, Arming
HP: 20/30
Attack: 1d6+2 (+2 hand-to-hand, +1 vs creature)
Dodge: 1d4+2
16=blunt weapon (+2 to damage)
(-2 to all rolls)

Set down, Fi'o gave the bronze who'd saved her a** a quick salute with her good arm. She and Ive would have to thank him properly later, but for now, there was fighting to be done. She might be in sharding awful shape, but the brownrider wasn't about to let that stop her from getting a piece of whatever wretched Trine folk were about. They'd pay for holding her in a cage!

...but first, she needed something to fight with. She cast about for anything solid enough to bash heads with.

HP: 15/25
Attack: 1d6+1 (+1 hand-to-hand, +1 vs creature)
Dodge: 1d4+1
14=blunt weapon (+2 to damage)
(-2 to all rolls)

"About time!" Dinah declared, and wasted no time in getting the shaff out of that stupid cage that she had been stuck in for far, far too long. Though she was stiff, sore, and sunburnt, and more than ready to go home to Benden, she fully intended to get in a little revenge before she left. And besides, most of the dragons seemed occuppied with either fighting their enemies or fishing for the poor sods who'd been dropped in the lake.

Until there was a ride available, she could entertain herself by beating up on someone or something. With her fists if necessary, but if she could find a weapon of some kind, so much the better.

Kesin, Arming
HP: 15/25
Attack: 1d6+1 (no training bonuses/penalties)
Dodge: 1d4+1
(-2 to all rolls)

Unlike a couple of the other prisoners, Kesin had no real interest in revenge, at least not today. She felt like absolute s**t, and wanted nothing more than to be reunited with Kesisk and get out of here. "Hey!" she called to no one in particular. "What's a girl gotta do for a ride around here?"

Kesi, get ready. I don't wanna stay a second longer than we have to.

An affirmative feeling was the only reply she got as the gold looked for a good opening to extract herself from the fight and get to her handler. In the meantime, Kesin looked for something to defend herself with - just in case - but couldn't find a sharding thing worth even picking up.

Acriculeth - landing (Any humans without a ride are welcome to go to him!)

He had been moving towards the lake, but unsurprisingly a green beat him to it. Acriculeth sent a rare feeling of genuine thanks to Zarth and wheeled back towards the battle, soon landing beside the cadge he had just torn open. <To me captives! Anyone without a dragon to go to!> he called to his allies, human wher and dragon alike to keep everyone in the loop. he added, still addressing all the wherholders. He did hope nobody quibbled with him or decided they had to stay and fight for honour or vengeance, such concepts were foolish in the extreme at a time like this and the former always was.

D'lek Attempting to Escape on Tennath 1/2

D’lek had ducked to the back of the cage as the large bronze tore the door from its hinges. He was wary of debris—images of rocks raining down and suffocating dirt filing his nostrils were enough to have him panicked. When he was able to escape the memory of the suffocating mine collapse he sent a mental cry to Tennath, pouring as much energy and feeling into it as possible, there bond was weak from the distance between them, but he managed to get his message across- Now.

Tennath had waited for this message, had spent every day pacing and raking furrows into the Southern dirt, anxious for when he could return to his. He rose above the dense foliage and blinked between with the image D’lek sent him. He appeared over the large lake, images of clashing dragons and people flailing in the water chilled his ichor. But now was not the time to be distracted, with the single-minded focus of one desperately trying to reach their most beloved Tennath folded his wings and dove, avoiding the dueling dragons, ignoring those thrashing in the water, to where the cage imprisoning his now stood broken. MINE! Tennath landed heavily, now was no time for grace, and maneuvered his way as close as possible to D’lek.

D’lek mustered what energy he had left after his imprisonment, to dodge free of the remnants of his cliff-side prison. There was so much fighting, but D’lek could only hope to remain unnoticed long enough to make it to his. Weaving through the chaos, he gathered his strength to vault to Tennath’s back with the tenacity he may have had before this venture. Mine. Was all the message that was needed to communicate the complete feeling of blithe gratitude that filled him upon contact with Tennath.

Kesin and Kesisk, going to Acriculeth!

"C'mon, Kesi - it's time to get outta here!" With her wher by her side - finally - Kesin scrambled to the bronze dragon who'd offered to carry them. She was not about to hang around looking for revenge, no thank you. She'd get that later, when she didn't feel like death warmed over. For now she wanted to go home.

Kesisk honked up at the big dragon, sending excited-happy feelings his way. They were here, they were ready!
