Rep watched the pie warfare with a smug sort of amusement. Maybe the amusement was beaus he had a <******** chocolate pie, he couldn't be sure. Either way the world looked a more palatable place.
Ofie's complaint would have earned her a thrown pie if the one he had wasn't too delicious to toss.

"Here, you missed some." Gnat moved closer to Evan, scooping up a bit of pie that was trailing down his jaw.
She stuck her pie-endowed finger in her mouth and dragged it out sloooowly.
"Mmmm."

Peyton had already frozen due to Tuck rubbing his face all over her neck, hair, and chest. Whee he set her down she just sort of stood there, eyes wide.
It took Warrick's sudden nagging to pull her out of flustered daze.
< Peyton, It's Rue. Peyton. Peyton!>

A fruit-stained eyebrow rose as Gnat very creatively helped clean Evan up some, and he grinned down at her. "Careful, now," he said, "that lady over there looks awfully serious about these pies, and I'd hate to have to drag your brother to the infirmary if he decides they'd look better on us again."

Gnat glanced to the sun hunter threatening violence, and then back at Evan. She pulled another hunk of pie out her hair and sent it whizzing at Ofie. "Heh."She was going to hurl her pie and eat it too ok?

...that was probably a bad idea Gnat because when it came to food and battles Ofelia didn't really hold back. Her weapon remained as it was as she advanced towards the sun trainee and for a moment it looked like she was going to rfise her hand and actually strike her.
...but she didn't because that would involve ruining more pies since people were obviously going to keep throwing them. With a heavy sigh Rue was dismissed and Ofelia appeared to calm down a little bit.
"Jerry see! Next time jus' let me make 'em! Do ya need money back fer everythin'?" She asked the older hunter.

Warrick gave a depressed grunt in Peyton's head when Rue was desummoned.
The tiny Sun didn't hear him though, she was to busy slack-jawing Gnat.

Winner, winner. Chicken dinner."Now, what was you sayin', Evan?" She gazed at the fruit stained eyebrow he'd so graciously drawn attention to, and leaned forward, intending to lick it off. She was being helpful, okay?

"Jesse Natasha Ross," Tuck said, sounding surprisingly like their mother, "what would ma say if she saw you now?"

Rep was enjoying his pie, and also the demonstration of what the ******** a family actually looked like.

Evan had admired Gnat's ballsiness before, when they were sparring with her brother and her charge had backfired and she pushed on anyway. It increased tenfold when she decided to take on an armed hunter with nothing more than some pie. "I was saying," he replied, smiling down at her as she leaned in close, "there's no reason why we can't have our pie and eat it too."
And then Tuck played the mom card. Evan winced for Gnat.

Gnat stopped mid lick, and squinted at Tuck really hard."She prolly wouldn't notice, Theodore James Ross, since her bouncin' baby boy was so busy stickin' everythin' on the island." She paused, and as an afterthought added, "'Sides, he's Marines. She'd prolly say it was a step up." Eh?

Evan felt an instinctive surge of pride that he was a step up just because he was a Marine. It quickly shriveled up and died a sad, screaming death when Tuck offered to tell him a story. He heaved a sigh, briefly lowering his head to rest against Gnat's, before calling over his shoulder, "Can it wait until we're not covered in pie?"

Oh. s**t. Evan's response didn't really make her feel any better, because she was pretty sure Tuck was going to say something terrible anyway.
Gnat turned back to Evan, grabbed his face in her hands, and kissed him full on the mouth.
Maybe he wouldn't hear him.
