Life was unfair and cruel. Or maybe it was just war that was that? It was hard to tell sometimes. For someone who had known little of hardship despite a very personal death at a young age, life recently had seemed to be nothing but.
Athene's cry sent a chill down her spine and she hesitated for only a moment as she weighed her options. Two Negaversers, one she had already proven to have issues defeating, or a dear friend in pain and danger... well that answer was pretty simple.
"I may not be able to stop you today, but rest assured that I will find a way, no matter what it takes." She said as she fell back. No witty remarks, no jeers... just a promise she felt sincerely to her very core. Turning, Ida lept over the crowd, using the strength she thanked her asteroid for, and landed by Athene's side.
"I've got you." She said softly as the orchid senshi gently knelt down by him, a hand on his arm. "Can you move? They're not showing any signs of stopping until all of the civilians are down and the senshi have fled or died..."
Things had been going well again. But she hadn't expected, stall door open again, for the horse to try to also seek shelter in the small space with all the people and with her.
Schörl was bowled forward from a sudden one ton animal essentially forcing her to move over and get out of the stall entrance.

Pompeii was getting tired of dealing with this youma but she couldn't get close enough to dust the damn thing. When ever she got anywhere close it would lash out with a hooves or with teeth and it was wickedly fast, a torn sleeve was proof that even her improved speed wasn't much help. Damn thing bit down and ripped the ruffles right off. She was running out of steam and she was beginning to think the youma was running out of amusement in messing with her. There was really only one option left.... run.
But who said she had to run from the youma only to leave it rampaging by its self. In a flash she had a plan and began implementing it. Phase one taunting the thing. She knew it wouldn't do any good since it really was much like a brainless creature but it made her feel better. It gave her a bit more spine to pull off what she needed to do. "Your mother was so slow she thought a carousel was a never ending race... and she still lost." Almost. "Your father was so short that even his jockey was talker then he was." She had to jump back as the youma surged forward.... Time for the next stage.
Phase two... run like hell. "Glue fodder, cart horse, hack, when are you going to foal you fatso." Pompeii turned and ran with the youma following close behind. The civilians scattered and she got a clear look at her target, an empty cage. "Come on you nag, cant you go any faster then that?" She was running out of breath but it felt good to hurl the pointless insults. It allowed her to take her mind off of the pain in her ankle and the countless scrapes and scratches across her shoulders and back.
Almost there. Almost.... There.... Pompeii was racing against the clock. but she was coming up on her target fast. She didn't even knotice when she practically went flying past the negas. NOW! At the last second she dived out of the way and landed hard against the wooden bottom of a steal topped cage. The youma was going to fast to stop and skittered into the cage to crash through the back side, dusting on a splintered bar of steel.
Pompeii lay on the ground panting, the world nearly spinning around her.
And then someone was landing by his side, the aura suggesting the other like him was part of the White Moon, the voice familiar.
“Ida?” Athene queried quietly, although it was rhetorical (he’d recognised the other’s voice), his head nodding slightly at her question of whether he could move. “I... I think so” mayhaps it was just as well that he’d learnt how to break his fall from the self-defence lessons that he was still going to religiously every Thursday evening.
Managing to stand, Athene winced as the movement caused his side to twinge painfully – not the hot sharp pain of earlier, but still painful and there was blood on the fingers of the hand he pressed there. Although thankfully the cuts didn’t feel deep “I’ll live” he told Ida quietly, his voice slightly wry.
Alas however it seemed that he had spoken too soon, Athene registering the hoof beats coming his way a little too slowly, managing to move out of the horse’s way slightly – but not enough for him to avoid being knocked flying.
He landed with a pained ‘oof’, the landing enough to knock the breath out of him.

Ida was relieved when Athene managed to stand up, looking like he got little more than a scrape... right up until a panicked horse side swiped him and sent him tumbling again.
"Athene! Come on, we have to get you out of the way..." She said as she jumped to his side and slid herself under the arm on his good side. Whether or not he could do it himself, she wasn't taking chances. Wrapping both arms around his chest, she jumped again, this time up and back towards the center of the chaos. Oddly enough, the actual pens seemed to be the eye of the storm, so she took her injured friend there and steadied him on top of one of the empty ones.
When he regained his footing, she slipped out from under his arm, though she kept a hand on it until she was sure he was steady.
"I... I don't know what to do. I'm not making any headway here. No matter what I do, they just keep on coming..."
Athene had managed to have the presence of thought to make a grab for and scoop up the glasses that had fallen off in his tumble as Ida got them both out of the way, relieved that the semi-rimless black frames had somehow managed to stay in one piece.
“Thank you Ida” he told the other senshi slipping his glasses back on once he felt steady enough on his feet. Mayhaps thanks wasn’t necessary – they had formed a small group out of a mutual purpose, had become friends – but that was the way that Athene was wired and so he had thanked his fellow senshi.
“I’ve not much luck either” Athene admitted, his hand pressed against his side, which was a throb of dull pain “Although I managed to rescue someone from the youma” he bit his lip “I know it’s not much in the scheme of things” he admitted “But I.. I have to do what I can.”

(( da fawk xD )) "You're welcome." She murmured automatically, scanning the crowd to track where the enemy had gone. Where was Tsui? Was she okay? The orchid senshi sincerely hoped the other was as strong as her sphere, because right now, the rest of her team desperately needed it.
The moment of distraction was all luck needed today and a wild animal slammed into the side of the cage, making the whole thing jump and shiver. Caught unaware, Ida cried out as the roof of the cage seemed to fly out from under her as she lost her balance and slammed down on the edge of it... right onto her barely-healed wound.
She whimpered as she rolled and curled in on her suddenly throbbing side, clutching her ribs as she tried to catch her breath again.

One of the rampaging wild animals slammed into the cage sending them both tumbling, although fortunately for Athene he fell on his ‘good’ side. There was an empty bucket near to where he had fallen which had somehow managed to stay on the top of the pen.
A scream from below had Athene’s blood running cold, a glance over the edge of the pen showing a youma that had managed to corner a middle-aged man.
Athene bit his lip and eyed the bucket an idea coming to his head, the riskiness causing him to hesitate for a moment, before the cornered man screamed again causing him to come to a decision.
Lobbing the bucket at the youma, Athene offered up a silent prayer as he hoped that he wouldn’t hit the terrified man again and then breathed a sigh of relief as the bucket clonked the youma and turned it into dust.
A whimper of pain had him turning to Ida, concern flickering in his eyes. “Ida are you all right?”

Sophie wasn't really sure how she ended up at the animal pens. Normally she avoided such places, not liking to see animals in cages, even if they were treated well. After finding a place that sold chocolate-covered marshmallows, she had begun to wander aimlessly as she ate them. She took in the sights, making mental notes of which ones she would want to try for herself, and which ones it was probably safe to pass on. The House of Mirrors, for example, was of no interest whatsoever for her. Sophie didn't really like looking at her reflection, even when it wasn't distorted. The bumper cars would probably be fun, if an annoying reminder that her mother was pushing her to get her driver's license. Not that anyone needed to drive in Destiny City, but that didn't matter to Nancy Hawkins. Maybe she would skip the bumper cars and try the roller coaster instead. Now that was a ride- fast and fun and exhilarating. Though hopping right on the roller coaster after eating probably wasn't the best idea. She could save that for later, after her stomach had settled a bit. The games boardwalk would be a good diversion in the meantime, after she washed her hands free of the chocolate that dotted them. She enjoyed testing her skills, and the prizes at those things were usually cute. Yes, she decided, polishing off her last marshmallow, that was the way to go. First the games, then the roller coaster, and then maybe she could catch a show at the Big Top.
As she finished, and looked for a place to throw her skewer away, she realized where she had ended up. Sighing to herself, she turned around, prepared to retrace her steps. She never got that far. Something grabbed her from behind, wrapping webbed hands around her face. Sophie felt herself gagging on a hand pressed over her nose and mouth. With considerable effort, she managed to shift the hand down far enough to allow her to breathe. The other hand was tight against her eyes, preventing her from seeing her assailant- though considering that the mystery attacker was behind her, she doubted that it made much difference. She was stuck and blind, no matter what. For a few moments, Sophie wondered if this was a result of her less than subtle inquiries as of late. By trying to track down the source of the trouble plaguing Destiny City, had she made a target out of herself? Since she couldn't see, she had no idea that others were being attacked, and even if she'd known, there wasn't much she could do about it in her current position.
But her arms were free, so Sophie did what anyone who was randomly attacked by a possibly amphibious creature would do: she flailed.

Lt. Schörl
The horse panicked, finding the smell of fear and so many people all jammed in its stall- what was supposed to be a safe place. It reared, hooves striking out.
One clipped Schörl on her back, some ribs giving with the force, and she stumbled with a slam into the stall wall, air gone like an explosion from her lungs.
You've got to be kidding me. Go home horse, you're drunk.

Ida groaned as she pushed herself up onto her knees, one arm still wrapped around her lower chest.
"I landed on my bad side." She gasped out, catching her breath. "Its still not completely healed yet... week or two ago and I might have reopened it." The senshi shook her head as she pushed herself to her feet. They weren't doing any good like this... they needed to stop playing defense and start playing offense instead. If they didn't, they were just going to keep getting hurt and loose more civilian lives.
Frowing, Ida kicked a youma off the cage as it tried to get up to them, a little annoyed when it didn't dust at her strike. That one was a little tougher than the others, but at least it was focused on them and not the civilians.

Athene nodded at Ida’s words, his right hand automatically going out in attempt to help the other senshi up as Ida pulled herself back up, his green-fleck grey eyes still looking concerned beneath his glasses.
His head turned as a youma flew towards them and he tried to swing out as hard as he could at it. It was enough to knock the thing back, earning the two of them a temporary respite but not hard enough to dust – it would be back.
He bit his lip as he saw Ida kick another youma that was trying to reach them off the cage, saw the youma he had hit wheeling back towards them for another dive and said quietly “We need a plan.”

Holding her side, the orchid senshi offered Athene a reassuring smile
"I don't know... I'm not good at plans. Maybe we should stick together and... fight back to back, or something? If we're together, then we can watch out for each other." She said, watching the pair of youma that were vying for the best position to attack them from.
When one of them got too close, she rushed it and took it by surprise, a flurry of punches turning it to dust.
