Fighting with a broken arm during a cave-in officially sucked. She didn't have any other options, though - there was nothing to do now but fight. Not that she would have run even if she could have. She just tried to do what damage she could, which wasn't much.

D’lek was in the process of softening the blow from the miner he was facing as the mines rumbled once again, this time releasing a larger amount of debris from above. D’lek was unable to protect himself from the debris this time, too concerned with dodging the pickaxe swung at him. Tennath’s mindvoice intruded on his focus, Mine, I do not think we can help, from what you’ve shown me you are too far—we could not help dig you out. Please, please be careful. D’lek responded quickly as he prepared to take a whack at the miner again, Careful isn’t an option anymore-but I’ll make it back, I always do.

Now, Dinah was pretty awesome - badass, even - if you asked her, but in human versus wher, wher would always win. "Rilli!" she shouted at the only handler with their wher present, "Shardit, Rilli, set him on the bleeding wher!"
She grunted in pain as the wher came down on her and slugged the green again. "Get offa me!"

There was nothing else to do but fight. V'ell glanced back briefly, just long enough to thank Faranth that D'ei was alive and conscious. But there was no time for celebration - not yet. That could wait until she was sure that they would make it out alive.
If they managed to gang up and take out one of the human fighters, then they could conceivably surround the other one. V'ell had no sharding clue why the idiot brownhandler wasn't siccing her wher on the enemy wher, but someone else was already yelling about it. The greenrider lunged forward and swung her makeshift club hard at the first human opponent.

Risk may be having trouble with manuverability, but Rilli wasn't. She slipped around the wher as he turned himself and shouted, taking a swing at the human with her axe handle. "Fardling piece of dragonshit! Get off of him!"
Risk! Wher! Rilli took her eyes off the man for a second as she heard her name cried out.

Move! Risk hissed as the second strike hit him as well. He couldn't lunge at the man properly now that Rilli was in the way, but he could reach the wher that was attacking the other handler. He rakes his claws towards the Green Wher.

The wher Kessisk was tangling with yelped again as the gold turned on him in earnest and snarled as he attempted to dodge once more, using his better maneuverability against the female.
Inside the mine, the fight had closed and the earth continued to shake, tossing debris upon the heads of all those inside. It was a desperate struggle as man and beast fought. The first human grunted as F'io flailed weakly against him and grinned as he hefted the pickaxe and swung once more. The swarm of individuals against him, however, made it impossible to dodge.
The green wher snarled and snapped at this ridiculous human who kept punching her in the nose! She liked her nose, thank-you! The thoughts, however, were interrupted as Risk clawed at her and she turned to snap at him instead, posturing before the stupid male.
The second human let the blue wher go as it opened up an avenue to engage the female that handled him. A lecherous grin played across his lips as he stabbed with the blunt end of his weapon, meaning to wind Rilli. InstructionsEveryone (excluding Kessisk) take 2 Damage. Kessisk: You may chose to Flee for the Hills. North Group: Pinned individuals are now unpinned. The Cave in is too deep for a dragon to help with.

Attacking was clearly not working out in her current state, so, for the moment at least, Fi'o acted defensively and evaded the miner's latest attack. She couldn't avoid the falling rubble, though, and it was starting to get really irritating. And maybe a little painful. Just a little.

Kesin wanted to break that pickaxe as much as she wanted to break the miner's face, and that was saying something. She swung at him with her chunk of rock again, intent on doing whatever damage she could. The sooner they took him down, the sooner they could get out of here!
That was the hope, anyway.
