The same small, simple treasures glittered where they lay, as if merely a few last remnants left behind.
Already stinking of seawater and fish, and getting that knotted feeling in his stomach that something bad was on its way, he gave the objects only a cursory glance. His fingers closed around the one closest to him - a small ring - before he made his escape

Mimsy couldn't see Lucky here, but there were definitely things that attracted her attention. Books. Her fingers trailed along the spines of the thick tomes, her thoughts wandering towards why were these not waterlogged. Something this ancient was sure to have interesting information, however...
