Beta nodded, smiling as she followed her mother's gaze. "Mm. He is. Just like Dee." Delta snuggled close to his mother, making a happy growling noise.
"'Worried' is an understatement." Itzal shifted uncomfortably, but said nothing else. Haides nuzzled his mate back smiling at her before turning to gently nudge his brother. "... Yeah, yeah. I know."

"Yes, just like your brother, he would do anything to make me feel better. I am really lucky to have all of you children in my life and now grandchildren,"Serenity admitted.
"Maybe you will meet someone special too..someone to understand you,"Jaromila suggested.

Beta leaned into her mother and closed her eyes, smiling softly as the tears finally slowed to a trickle. "And we're lucky... to have you are our mother." She nuzzled Serenity. "I'm so happy that I made it here..." Both when she was a foal and now. Even though she didn't make it all the way to Dea's, she had made it to Michiko's. And with Haides and Jaromila with her, that was good enough for her.
"... With my luck, she'll be an enemy and kill me," Itzal replied with a shred of morbid humor. Well, maybe she was right, but... Even if someone understood him, that wouldn't mean they loved him. One who was both? He'd spend a lifetime trying to find that Azrien.

"I do my best to be a good mother to all of you, Beta, I truly do. I am glad you came home too, least close enough to home that I know you are being watched over. I come here often enough because I need to check on things for Dea's peace of mind and now for you kids,"Serenity smiled.
"No, if she is someone who really cares about you, then she will not kill you. You never know what could be around the next corner,"Jaromila told him.

Beta sighed contently as she relaxed against her mother. "I'm really glad that I met Cairbre... I don't think I would've made it without him..."
"You're assuming that this soulmate of mine would actually be able to get close enough to really care about me. If we're on a battlefield, I doubt there will be any friendly discussions," Itzal pointed out.

"I am very glad that he found you and was there to help you get better. I am also glad he brought you home safely to all of us, I was so worried about you. I would have come myself to look for you, but with Dea dealing with her injuries, I have not been able to go after my missing children,"Serenity spoke, nuzzling her.
"You are assuming you will meet her on the battlefield though. You could just meet her like we are talking now,"Jaromila pointed out to him.

Beta nuzzled her back. "It's alright, Mama. It's not your fault." Smiles sadly. "I was... relying too much on Haides. I knew he couldn't leave Mila while she was pregnant, but..." She'd expected him to magically appear to whisk her away from her loneliness. She had been incredibly selfish. "I'm gonna... get stron..." Her sentence faded as she nodded off, fast asleep against Serenity. Delta huffed, but refused to move from his dozing mother's side.
"That's because I haven't found any southern Azrien that can stand talking to me for more than a few minutes. Therefore this hypothetical soulmate would be more likely to come from the neutral or northern lands. And since, besides this time, I only venture north when fighting... I'd say that to meet them, it'd be on a battlefield."

"Sleep, my little one, you need the rest. I will be right here when you wake up. Delta, you can sleep too, if you want to do so,"Serenity spoke soothingly, nuzzling her daughter again, then her blue eyes looked to see what was happening with her son's conversation.
"Have you not met any mares in a non-confrontational situation?"Jaromila asked.

Beta mumbled an answer and quickly slipped off to sleep. Delta huffed and simply crawled over to his grandmother's free side and snuggled into her side. "Gah-mah."
Itzal rolled his eyes. "Yes, I have. However, most of them either walk away after two minutes or make the situation confrontational. The south isn't exactly a breeding ground for patience ladies. Well, unless they're waiting for prey. And I'd rather not be that."

"Hello Delta, dear, I take it you do not want to take a nap?"Serenity asked, gently bending her head down and nuzzling the little blanket.
"Well, I suppose that would be a very good reason not to want to be near those ones. There are those in the South who are there for reasons other than pure hatred of humans, like ones who were captured or something,"Jaromila spoke.

Delta squeaked when he was nuzzled, nuzzling her back. Then he shook his head in answer. "Mah."
"Some just want to watch the world burn. Others just like killing. And others were kidnapped or tortured or had family members killed. And then there's Punk." Itzal paused, then added, "I can hear you smiling." Haides's smile widened. "Of course. Punk's a good friend."

"Alright, if you want to just stay awake next to me, that is fine. Your mama needs some sleep right now though, okay, little one?"Serenity questioned, smiling down at him. He was certainly a cute little one, he and his siblings were something good that came out of all of this.
"I keep hearing about this Punk, but I have not met him yet. I still need to thank him for knocking some sense into you, Haides dear, and having you come home to me,"Jaromila smiled.

Delta huffed and just snuggled closer to his grandmother. Then he tried to stretch his wings and, because of his proximity to Serenity, ended up pushing off of her and flipping over, getting tangled in his blanket. He squawked once, then silently flailed.
Haides rolled his eyes, but smiled nevertheless. "I told him he was welcome any time. He just hasn't taken me up on the offer."
"I doubt he's going to." Itzal's blue eye opened to look at them again. "Punk's hatred of humans is more... justified than any other southern Azrien I've ever met. I doubt he'll be willing to come so far into the north. Especially when he's busy with his personal life. He was raising three girls by himself."
Haides blinked. "Punk has children?" That was new. "Yeah. One adopted, two blood."

"Easy there, Delta, it was a good first try, but you have to be more careful,"Serenity suggested. He worked to get him untangled from his blanket and turn him right side up again.
"Why exactly does he hate humans, Itzal? Also, sounds like he has his hooves full like we do. Maybe one day when we get a chance, we can go meet him, "Jaromila suggested.

Delta whined and let his grandmother help him. Then he quietly snuggled up against her side again and went still.
"Well, he wouldn't tell me the details, but... apparently it had to do with a rejected Bonding. With how deep of a connection they say that is, I'm not surprised in the least that such an event would cause such bitter resentment." He shook his head at Jaromila's suggestion. "And going to see him would be just as dangerous. You're Bonded, aren't you? That's begging for a death sentence. You probably won't be able to meet comfortably unless it's in neutral territory."
