Chaonis’ reputation preceded him, so Pomona more or less expected what he said. Granted, she didn’t feel like it needed to be called out – seeing as how she was on the floor, even she couldn’t ignore her failure – but she couldn’t get angry at him for it either.
“ Side? I’m on my side; thought that was obvious.” She said dryly, gesturing to her prone form.
Pomona accepted Athene’s hand when offered though, and once back on her feet, she shot a dark look at her skirt. Muttering something about scissors, she grabbed the trailing side and began to twist it round and round, rolling it up. She paused, raised her eyes as if considering something, then looked at Chaonis.
“ Rumor mill says you’re good at melee. Got the patience for a student?”
Honestly, Pomona wasn’t a completely hopeless fighter. She was decent at strategy, and was actually pretty damn good at aiming/throwing projectiles, but up-close, hand-to-hand fighting? No, that she still kinda sucked at. She had happily ignored that fact for a long time, but now she was Eternal and other Senshi were looking her up to; that wasn’t wishful thinking or dreaming on her part either, because it had already happened. Looked like it was time to fix that.
“ I usually save the day before I end up on my a**, I swear.” She said, giving a slightly self-depreciating grin to Athene. That, obviously, wasn't entirely true, though she had at least survived long enough to get butt wings, and hadn't let anyone die on her watch.

"Alright." It sounded like this life, as a senshi, would be a trying one. So far he'd had no negative really. Aside from feeling very off kilter when dealing with people; and a talking cat. This was the only thing which was honestly uncomfortable for him, but even this wasn't negative. So it sounded like things would get bad at some point.
"So long as I don't have to worry about that." Though he also, having never been in a fight, was hoping he didn't make a fool of himself.
Well, only one way to know if he'd make a fool of himself. And that one way was to try his hand at this. Rather than using his fists he decided to strike out with a kick toward the other. It just felt like the more comfortable, more right feeling, option for him.

Chaonis arched an eyebrow when the fight stopped. He frowned at her, then at him.
"You're not going to take a free hit? How are you going to get stronger if you don't finish your fights?" He sighed. Damn it, they were all getting a little too soft. Yeah, it was just a sparring match but still. If they didn't even hit each other, what were they learning?
Because learning was what he cared about most. Obviously.
He rolled his eyes as Athene helped her up, but accepted the graceful end to the 'battle' for what it was. Athene was just a nicer guy than Chaonis was, which was not the rarest occurrence in the world. He grunted a laugh.
"You think you're good enough to be a student? But if you think you can stay on your feet long enough for it, then yeah. I'll be more than happy to punch you in the face." That was how he trained. No reason to beat around the bush. Luxor waited for the attack, but saw what it was even before it 'hit'. And it was not much. When a voice interrupted them, he glanced over at the source, but did not pay it much mind at the moment. IT sounded vaguely familiar, and if he had actually focused his gaze, he might have noticed something.
Instead, he was already focused on what he was doing now. He moved to counter, not content to slap fight, grabbing one of her arms and pulling her toward him, angled low so she might run into his shoulder. He was not going to take a straight out swing at her, just maybe knock her down and call it a day. he did note that her balance was off, anyway, and he wasn't unfamiliar with fighting.
He'd been in a few in his time.

Athene’s shoulder tensed at Chaonis words, evidence that the other eternal had hit a sore point – because the dark-haired senshi’s performance had up to this point had been pretty dismal when it came to straight out fighting in his powered up form. It didn’t stop Athene from giving Pomona a hand up, the dark-haired senshi waiting until the red-haired senshi was back on her feet before quietly saying “I guess I’m just not good at hitting someone when they’re down.” Although he knew that he had to get better on the fighting front. He managed a slightly rueful quirk of his lips as Pomona spoke to him, admitting “I’ve tripped over my own sash a few times, so I’ve learnt to wind it round the waist a few extra times.” Somehow it seemed to have gotten longer since the last upgrade.

Palatine was not much of a fighter, if only because she’d never had any reason to be. That wasn’t to say she wasn’t physically fit, as she spent quite a few hours at the gym each week engaging in a variety of activities, but she didn’t have the best combat form and she didn’t have a very good grasp on any type of martial art. For the most part, her random youma encounters had resulted in her repeatedly kicking said youma in the face.
Hey, whatever worked.
She was, however, interested in improving her form and technique, especially since she assumed launching her foot into someone or something’s face wasn’t always going to work. At some point she’d need some variety, and so this whole training thing had seemed to her, at the time, to be a good idea.
Being paired with a young man she still viewed as a kid put something of a damper on any excitement she may or may not have felt for the opportunity. She hadn’t even fallen in a defensive stance yet when he charged at her, but she was watching him closely and managed to step aside to avoid being hit, turning as she did so to aim a kick for the back of one of his knees.
“Real graceful there, kid,” she said, her voice still lowered in a sarcastic tone.

Lassell, stumbled as Palatine side stepped to avoid his attack he took a few moments to regain his balance but only to get tripped from behind and he fell on his a** "its not easy to spar when you don't have self-defense skills behind you prior to this" he told her. He sighs and tumbled backward getting back to his feet. He took a moment to regain his composure from being knocked onto his a** by a girl. He stood up for a few seconds before dropping down and aiming a kick towards her ankles in hopes to trip her.
"I'm not as graceful as females, since I don't do any activities that involve poise and grace." he told her. Sure he was an athlete but being an athlete required you be on your toes. He waited for her to see what she would do next. The benefits of being an athlete was that you were always on your toes but you weren't necessarily quick in speed. In his youma encounters thus far they only called for defensive but of course he had his harp for that, but right now it was physical combat.

Carneli Sorry had an Econ test this week OTL Ya! He was so excited! Even with the unamused look that she had just gave him, she was still willing to listen to him! How great was she! The little chibi looked to her with amused eyes and bobbed his head just after hers.
"I'm so excited you said yes! Very excited! Do you have a superhero code! To respect everyone that is around you and to protect people at all risk! Because I do and after this training I can show you the rules! I made them myself!" he said with pure joy just running through his body!
Right now he could care less about fighting because he wanted to share his code to her!

Shangri-La was had quickly shuffled away, wary of grabbing hand and kicking feet, so when Ida did the floppy fish move, though he was still close enough to be be kicked, he jumped up high avoiding the flailing legs.
He back pedaled quickly wanting to but a good bit a distance between them, least she try the move again. He would wait to allow her to get up and recover, even though it hadn't served him well the first two times. He just couldn't bring himself to hit her while she was down.
He still felt very guilty for hitting the negaverse general lady in the eye and even more guilty for running away afterwards. So no he definitely couldn't hit Ida, an ally while she was down, even if it seemed to put him at a disadvantage.

Pompeii's mind was working fast trying to think of a possible counter attack to her admittedly weak first attack, to hopefully avoid it, when her attention was diverted by Zia. The younger lady was trying to give advice but it was too little too late. In fact it added more power behind Luxor's counter since she had taken her eyes off her opponent and didn't realize just how precarious her position was until he had grabbed her wrist and was pulling her towards him. With a gasp she was pulled diagonally down into his shoulder bruising her right shoulder. Not willing to go down without a fight she went with the flow and twisted just enough so she was now falling towards the mat but latched onto his wrist in turn. If she was going down she would try her best to take him down with her. Hopefully her own weight would tug him off balance then she should be able to bring him to the mat as well with one more hard tug on his arm. If it worked properly that is.

Alfheim did a shitty job of dodging the kick, mostly because he hadn't really felt all that threatened in the first place and had been fairly lax in assuming a defensive position.
Once it hit, though, he stumbled a bit into an actual stance and and went after the kid, ready to punch. He'd been in a real fight and a spar previously and he'd started off both of those debacles with wimpy and chickenshit moves. He wasn't going to keep making that mistake.
Columba stared at him and his disjointed sentence fragments. There was no superhero code, right? Was there? Had she been violating the code all this time? Sheena didn't mention a code. Chaonis hadn't mentioned a code, had he led her astray? Or, astray in ways besides the obvious and totally voluntary ways she wanted to be because fighting the negaverse sounded like a crapfest of boredom.
And then he said something that calmed her right down.
"They aren't rules if you made them yourself," She said in her best know-it-all voice. "Rules get made up by grown ups. Important grown ups, probably not whatever your mom and dad is but by like priests and cops and stuff. But we can talk after we spar, kay?" She chirruped and bounced from one foot to the other, cracking her knuckles.
"Kay ready?!" She announced before yelling out her best battle cry, which her prepubescent voice did no justice at all, and body tackled him full on with all the grace and badassery of a baby giraffe. But in her mind she was a wild animal of fury and karate she had just made up right this very minute. Bite-fu, apparently, because rather than punch she held the smaller boy's arms down and bit him.
Zia cringed when Pompeii looked at her and Luxor successfully got her. "Oh, baby," She sighed and crossed her arms while looking on with pity. She did approve of revenge and the attempt to take him down with her, but she decided to just go ahead and let her fight it out on her own while she scanned the area for other people to complain at and silently being annoyed at having to like, be useful and stuff. The things she does for you, Maia.

He frowned as she said that his rules didn't count if he made them up. That certainly not true at all. No where close at all! "Hey! No that doesn't count! Rules aren't always made up by adults! What about rules for games you come up! You make rules all the time I bet!" he shout back at her. Most of the time he got along with girls but she was not like other girls he had met.
Before he was able to process the "Kay ready" he was pounced down to the ground. And what she did next he did not expect at all. "OUCH! Hey! What are you doing!" he yelled at her trying to push her off.
He started to fail his arm. She was biting him! Biting HIM! What was wrong with this girl! Did she have any manners at all! This wasn't in the rules! He didn't expect to get bitten at all. "Get off and stop biting me, please!" he shouted failing his arms, once agian.

When Shang backed off, Ida took the opportunity to roll over and get up onto her feet again. It was nice of him, to give her the breathing room, but she suspected that wasn't the point of this training session. A negaverser wasn't going to give him time to get up and get ready to attack again. They'd be on him like a rabid dog, ripping his starseed out of his chest.... The thought send a pulse of fear through her, but she pushed it down. She was safe here... this was practice, it wasn't real...
Taking a chance, she rushed him again, but on the second stride forward, she cried out and stumbled, her ankle crumpling under her. Landing on her knees, she hissed as she sat back and reached for her ankle, wrapping her hand around the delicate structure.
"Owie..." She whimpered, forgetting for a moment that she was in the middle of a sparring match.

If this had been a real fight he wouldn't be pleased with landing a hit on someone, he didn't like fighting in any manner, but since this was something friendly it was almost to feel gleeful. It was for that reason, that this was training only, that he was ok with this whole thing.Watching at the light haired male got into a fighting stance he waited and watched. Having no experience he was hoping to learn from observing the other, he was hoping to see things he could put to use if he ever had to. As much as he didn't like fighting, and would prefer to run and escape a fight, he knew he might not be able to do that all the time. Watching as he broke him his stance and threw a punch Chaldene hadn't been quite ready, actually he hadn't been prepared at all. His head snapped to the side suddenly, surprise etched across his face as a yelp of startled pain passed his lips, when he turned his head back to the other he went for the simple move of stomping on a foot and grinding his heel down.

If Pomona was honest with herself – something she was try to do more frequently – she could admit that no, being punched in the face by an “ally” did not sound like a fun way to spend her nights/weekends. However, it was a necessary evil, and she figured she should at least attempt. And hey, she could quit if she was that horrible; not like she was signing her soul to the devil.
“ I’ll be able to stay on my feet.”
That much she could probably do. Maybe. She’d try, at least.
“ Never thought I’d say I’d miss the mini-skirt, but… yeah, I miss it.”
At least she hadn’t had to contend with an annoying outfit for as long as Athene seemingly had. If she’d had to deal with a long skirt – or sash – earlier, it probably would’ve been the death of her, and wouldn’t that’ve been great. Here lies Pomona; she tripped to death on her own skirt.

Maia had been walking around, just the same as Pandora, Zia and Chaonis catching all the great moves and all the fail moves as well. Some of the things she saw made her feel rather exasperated and she already more training sessions would be needed. Most of them were reluctant to say the least, though a few seemed to get right into it. Unfortunately Columba was one of those ones eager to jump straight into it and in the worst way possible. Her eyes widened as she tackled the tiny chibi boy, but she wasn't overly concerned until she bit him. She rushed, so fast she nearly trampled the pair and reached down to grab a hold of Columba's fuku to haul the girl up off the chibi boy. She hadn't been expecting this, but she really should have, as they were the two youngest in the room. “Seriously, why did you bite him. It's a practice spar, not a recess scuffle,” she groaned out clearly irritated before turning to Euphrosyne and holding out a hand to him, to help him get up. “Are you okay?”
