"Whatever helps you sleep better at night." Amrita shot right back at Remi, just before getting momentarily distracted in waving her fingers at Bella once she noticed the ghoul gesturing to her. The Shadowling that attacked them had been made short work of, but this next one...augh. It made her shudder.

"Aymet, if I find out this is your fault, I'm kicking your boney butt." She muttered under her breath, but pointed at him with a pointed look at DC, who shot another healing fireball. A moment later, a familiar form caught her attention,

"Whoa, Tess! It's been a while, you look great!" She cheered, really unable to do much else at this point.

Tess could only give Amrita a weak wave, she was still feeling stressed. Legs began to stamp about orders to the minipets. Unfortunately they misunderstood her command to attack as a command to heal.

"We can do that!" Legarra beamed and trotted on over to the minis that had protected them moments ago. Just as Legarra's wings began to beat in the same soothing rhythm as her owner, a stray laser from the shadowling seemed to aim for her. Cue Esmerelda swatting it away like it was nothing.

"Thanks! I feel much better because of that!" the little dragon chirpped towards Legarra and Esme. Flapping his little wings, he went on and attempted to give the invisible dog a little more help. If he could find the darn thing.

"ALRIGHT! LETS DO THAT AGAIN!"

Meanwhile, Jericho had to wonder where the little levathia was getting all of this energy from. Maybe he fed him too much fear candy earlier.

The little guy was starting to get worn down here, but he was more than willing to keep up with this defense. His master and the others need help! And so he was going to try his best. With a proud stride in his step, he went and protected the invisible dog once again.

"So sorry pumpkin!" Belladonna called with a hand cupped around her mouth to Miss Gorgeous Two Parts, apologetic even in face, "I am not familiar with that boil but I am sure he's absolutely fantastic to you as well as perfectly safe!" Sure, ok she didn't know either of those but she liked this ghoul. She was cute and she divided herself into two parts! How many others could do that!?
Unfortunately the witch was distracted by the strengthening of the shadow creatures... And not in the best way, either. Just as they were getting to demolishing the creatures they kept coming back, and they just kept getting bigger too. Uuuuggghhhhhh.
"Cuddley Ruffley Butt, might I implore you to try once more?" Belladonna called to the pink treat that fluffed up against the monster that grew larger. The treat sighed and swept up into the air, once more latching its teeth onto the creature.

Before the witch could give further instruction, a bright red scareon instead intersected her path and, in attempt not to trip herself up as instructed by West, she sat down in front of the creature.
"Look at you, you precious, adorable, darling pumpkin you!" Belladonna cooed as she flopped onto the floor and began to happily pet the mini that felt so happy to protect her.
And oddly, Sir Cuddley Ruffley Butt was most displeased by this and began to eagerly chomp through the bit of the monster that he had latched on. And chomped more. And chomped... A whole lot.
Actually, Sir Cuddley Ruffley Butt got angry enough that he did a severe amount of damage. To this the witch paused her petting to clap at her treat. The power of a lot of love seemed to really turn the tide of this battle!

"I can do it again!" The little minipet chirped up, looking down the boss as it appeared. The Blue Morpho scale sprite was insanely proud of its last attack, so clearly it could do it again and make Remi happy!

Flying close by the little minipet opened its maw to release the fire...


Only to burp.


Somewhere, someone in the background laughed.

Being thrown away only made the invisible dog more needy for attention and justice.

The little dragon was nowhere to be found, and thus, there was nothing convenient to stand behind when the shockwave hit again.
