Lucian waited until the rats attacked, during their advanced he rolled his shoulders "Half speed." He whispered to himself. The rats were inches from him when he moved, leaving just a faint after image. He was almost instantly behind the rats. The ones that were in the front were his target. He swiped his hand behind them and grabbed four of them by the tails, picking them off of the ground he held them with a grin.

Lucian chuckled lightly at the thrashing rats in his hands. He swiftly moved them to his left, hoping to block the bullet with another rat. He didn't know if the bullet would tear through and hit him or not, but even so the damage would be much less and he didn't really care, the adrenaline was taking care of most of the pain he would have felt anyway.. He then kicked up his right leg which was slightly bleeding and jumped, almost looking like he would do a backflip he let go of the four he had in his hand and while throwing them brought both of his hands to just above his shoulders. He landed on his hands, his back just inches off of the ground and pushed up, setting himself back onto his feet. He would guess that the rat on his leg would have been thrown off by the momentum. He looked at the rat that had fired a shot at him and grinned, taking a step towards it he brought up his leg to kick it.

Of the four rats that Lucien threw two of them went over the side, their squeaks getting fainter and fainter as they fell. The other two landed on the deck, scrabbling to their feet. The bullet winged Lucien's leg but didn't do any serious damage. The rat on his other leg continued to cling on, clawing and biting. The rat who had shot Lucien was reloading its pistol when Lucien kicked it. It flew back into one of the other rats but they quickly recovered. The three rats spread out around Lucien in a semi-circle. Whenever Lucien turned his back to one it would rush forwards, slashing at him before rushing back out of range. The ones he was facing would stay carefully out of range, pacing back and forth as they waited for the opportunity to strike.

Max whined slightly but his tail began thumping against the deck again as they petted him. He wanted to talk to them but didn't want to risk blowing his cover so he stayed silent, doing his best to tell what was happening outside. He heard two rats fall from the ship and gave a small smile, glad Lucien seemed to be taking care of business.

Cathy looked down at Atticus's hand for a moment, surprised at his friendliness. She took his hand and shook it before letting go. "It's...a pleasure to meet you too," she replied, unused to friendly greetings. Her soul seemed relatively normal; she was neither a Weapon or Meister. Strangely enough her soul didn't seem to hold any madness, despite their surroundings. Her soul wave-lengths seemed much stronger than a regular neko and she clearly had fighting experience. A cutlass hung from her belt and a black-powder pistol was strapped to thigh.

She paused to think. Marriage was something foreign to her; something that she had always considered a non-possibility in her life. She had to search to remember exactly what it was. She gave them both a small smile. "Well congratulations then," she added.
