The Silver Kingdom is gone.

Xiu's breath caught in her throat, her pink eyes growing round as she tried to wrap her head around this piece of news. Gone? How? When? And...and what of the people? Well, she knew that at least two of them had managed to successfully escape to here, but the others...

Xiu jerked in surprise when one of the strangers replied to her, dispersing the dark thoughts that had slowly been clouding her mind. Giving a little shake of her head, she turned to offer both of the girls a small, reassuring smile. "Yes, this is the Red Kingdom, and I'm Xiuying, the King. I'm glad that you made it safely." Her tail gave a little twitch, and then she turned to look at Shun, her expression questioning. What should they do? Surely they couldn't just leave these people here.

"...Would you like to come join us in the palace?" She asked finally, after a moment of hesitation, "A few of us have gathered there now, including two healers should you have any aches from your arrival. I'm sure you've...I'm sure you've heard of the impending tournament that is about to befall all the kingdoms."

Rosy took the girl's offer, and stood with her help. Her arms wrapping around her for comfort as she nods to The King. Of all the people she address, it was The King. Inwards, she groans to herself, but refuse to show any of her embarrassment on her face. This wasn't the time or place, after all she still had her protocol right? "Thank you My King, you are very kind." she pauses at the impending tournament, only to give a brief shake of her head "No, I'm sorry, but I don't recall hearing anything about a tournament." she looks to the other girl, wondering if she might have heard something.

Shun looked towards Xiu a sharp look as she offered the silver kingdom refugees to join them in the palace. He wasn't so certain about this. But.. he could see a little merit to this. They could potentially add more to their ranks. However, the loyalty of newcomers could be... flighty. Especially since they apparently didn't know anything of the tournament or what it meant.

"I must retrieve my equipment," he murmured quietly. He was reluctant to leave the King alone with two outsiders, so he was a little bit at a loss.

"If you don't mind, Oyakata-sama... I would rather not leave you unattended."

Needless to say, he didn't think she was helpless. But she was the most valuable in the kingdom. He would not allow anything to happen to her while he was present.

So there would be a small celebration in the gardens before the big event? A party such as this would have a heavy curtain of foreboding but.. why not, right?

Mot watched as the others faded off toward the Palace gardens, catching sight of a slightly uncertain looking lady with a fan. Mot shyly approached her, hands behind his back and lightly kicking at the dirt as he thought of something to say. How to ask her to let him escort her there? Gosh, she was awfully pretty, you know? Unique. Barefooted....? Huh.

"Uh...uhm." Mot released one hand from behind his back to lightly scratch the bridge of his nose. "Pardon me but... do you require an escort to the garden?"

Oh my god, this was the King of the red kingdom, oh boy, what a welcome. It looked like the Silver kingdom being gone was new, which meant no one knew what had happened. It disappointed her slightly, Kaguya wanted to find out the facts of what had happened, but it looked like she wouldn’t be finding out answers soon. And now the King was announcing a tournament? This was not good news, why hadn’t they heard of this? What was going on? Was this tournament the reason her kingdom had fallen? “I haven’t heard about this tournament either.” She gave the other girl a puzzled look.

Following the King was probably her best bet, she didn’t really feel like she’d need medical attention, but the thought was approached. “Thank you.” She muttered softly, eyes moving to the one who had accompanied the King. She’d been right about him, a guard of some kind, one that didn’t seem too keen on strangers. They were refugees now, hurting the King of the Dream realm would be quite foolish.

Celebrations in the garden, especially those that included fireworks, always sounded like a spectacle worth enjoying. In the past, when such festivals occurred, Riley remained at her corner in the throne room, usually empty at the time. It was her place. Stepping outside of the palace walls was forbidden to her, but the sounds of fireworks always seemed thrilling. She spent hours after a festival, locked away to purge the sin of curiosity that seeded within her heart when she heard them.

Now, the offer was extended to the King's court, and Riley took a step back, out of familiarity. She knew where she was supposed to be when the frivolities occurred. She knew it wasn't her place.

She felt the eyes upon her, and her fan snapped instinctively, pulled tighter to her face. She did not know his face, but she recalled the man offering himself to the King not moments ago. He was offering himself again, now, as an escort.

Her escort.

The tremble of fear that shuddered within her was quickly tampered by a much stronger, overwhelming realization. An escort to the garden - it meant she was allowed to go there. No, it meant she was no longer forbidden to go there. Her vow of purity had been broken at the touch of the King on her shoulder. No longer did the tread of land underfoot remain an impossibility.

Riley's eyes opened wide, filled with a sudden inexplicable glee.

I would love that. It was an odd answer to give a stranger offering a simple escort, but there was more to Riley's answer than just her acceptance of his offer. The hushed whisper in his mind sounded absolutely enthralled with the idea of going outside.

The world spun madly out of control, the cacophony of the dying silver kingdom fading away between the step into the portal and the one out of it. The sudden quiet left Evan's ears ringing as he stumbled in from seemingly nowhere. He staggered, but managed to keep his feet. The rush of adrenaline hadn't diminished now that he was out of immediate danger. His eyes darted around wildly, trying to take in the new faces and unfamiliar surroundings. He should be terrified at the sudden change, or at the very least upset that everyone and everything he'd known was gone forever.

Instead, he felt...relieved. This would be a new beginning, a fresh start. "Uh...hi," he said, offering a tentative smile to the crowd.

Mot grinned widely, happy that she seemed so pleased and excited by his offer. She had seemed lost, so to know he had helped, even a little? It made him feel useful.

"Wonderful. Shall we?" He offered his arm, ready to take her to the gardens.

Of course, I leave it to you then. Her King had something to tend to, so Levi did as was instructed and took to leading the ay through the palace gates that led directly into the gardens.

She adjusted her boa in time for the inquiry of the illusion teacher, turning and offering a delighted smile in light of the discussion. Oh my, please do! That is very kind of you to offer. As for flavors~ I suppose a few basic types are in order for varied tastes: green, white peach, ginger and~ jasmine? Oh! And oolong, if you may. No sooner than she'd given the example flavors did Gene flutter off in great haste to gather what she needed for the brewing of the beverages.

When the Tortoise took her leave, Levi chuckled, glancing back over to the fireworks maker and tucking her closed fan into the belted rope across the midsection so it was out of hand. At first she'd begun instructing Westus on where to compile the new fireworks with the others she'd bought previously in preparation for tonight's show. You recall what I said in the shop, yes? I want it big. Perhaps something to showcase the mark of our King? If you require help in setting things up, I'm sure- No, I can't help set them up myself ... there are helping hands around. She wanted to- but in her current attire, it would not be possible. Perhaps if she was in her night time garb- no. Coughing into her sleeve lightly to redirect this thought process, the Phoenix gestured with a pointed finger towards a certain corner of the grass field near a lotus-riddled pond that outstretched a good portion of the garden. There. That seems like a good place. As soon as I'm done instructing the other palace workers on food preparations, I will be back to check on your work. Please provide us with your best today, Westus. I will be counting on you.

Levi did just that: going up a few steps to enter the palace again, she tended to the servants and kitchen staff, asking them for various dishes fit for a banquet to offer those who'd come in honor of the King.

When the Tortoise arrive back, Levi's eyes grew wide and her hand shot up over her mouth to keep her from laughing out loud too harshly. M-my goodness! Such a wide variety indeed. As expected of you, Gene. The teacher did have quite a taste for tea as she'd seen, but Levi hadn't quite expected her to bring so much with her. It was certainly a sign of her loyalty to devote so much of her own supply to the event. Do let me know if require any of the palace supply, won't you? It is quite a bit of tea you must be using. the brewing was a very serene act; the Phoenix watched, settling on a stone bench, in fact, to wait and be one of the first to sample her product herself. Might that be a ginger tea? May I?

Terra came out of the palace with a box of bandages and ointments, racing past the others to get to the garden. "I have brought the healing tools! We can patch you up now," she said, fumbling with the box to pull out the ointments. "If you do not mind, sir?" she asked Than.

"Of course." Gene murmured, handing the Phoenix her ginger tea with a smile. She loved teaching, but loved this even more. It was serene and rhythmic, allowing her to make connections to those around her on a deeper, more spiritual level. Tea wasn't just a drink to her, it was an experience.

"Fret not over my tea supply, Levi." She hardly used the woman's actual name, and it was always delivered with a little wink. "Giving of oneself is to give devotion and to show love. A generous spirit is free of burden." She grinned a wry grin as she prattled off more philosophy, basically saying that she gave to ease herself. "A heavy heart wears a body down. We need lighter hearts and sharper minds for the war, no?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 22, 2013 5:47 pm

Xiu looked surprised by their answer, knitting her brows in confusion. So they...they hadn't heard anything about the war? She wasn't entirely sure that this was how they wanted the new broken to them, but it seemed important to let them know now, especially since warriors from all of the kingdoms would soon be fighting amongst one another.

"The Voice has declared that the truce between the Seven Kingdoms is to come to an end," She explained to them carefully, her expression betraying the fact that she was still deeply troubled by this, "Soon, each of the Kings will send out warriors to fight for their respective kingdoms. Although the Voice called it a tournament, it is truly more like a war--in the end, only one King can remain standing."

She let the news sink in for a moment before giving a little shake of her head. Turning to look at Shun, she offered the Tiger a smile and a small nod of assent. "Go ahead, we'll be fine on our own." Glancing back at the Silver Kingdom citizens, she smiled at them gently before gesturing towards the bridge. "As you have just lost your home, we will give you refuge here for the time being. Shall we head to the gardens where everyone else has gathered? I'm certain that you have a lot of questions."

And then the second, lesser realization sunk in. Riley stared at the hand offered, and puzzled on it for a moment. She remembered the feel of the Kings hand in her own. This would be no different. This would be no first.

Her hand rose up, very slowly, and her fingers slid, curved, into the hand offered. The texture was different, she realized at once. Not as soft as the Kings. Stronger. Perhaps this was what a man's hand was supposed to feel like. Her eyes flickered up to look at Mot for a moment, and the blush warmed her dark cheeks. She ducked her head, hidden fully under her fan for a moment. You honor me, sir.

A light chuckle escaped him as Riley shied initially from his hand. "It's a pleasure." Gently, he guided the timid woman toward the gardens, taking in the scenery one last time before he would be sent off to fight.

It was almost sad. Very sad.

"Let's enjoy this peace as much as possible. I want to protect this place with all my power." He said almost to himself, musing lightly as his gaze looked almost distant.

[Enter Spinar]
Nails bit into the flesh of his arms creating a severe sting as the portal consumed him, tossing his body in a rapid circular motion for the way he had entered. Dizzy. He could feel the motion taking a toll on his stomach and wondered briefly if hurling in portal travel was recommended or rather if he'd be circled around into it if he did. Likely so. Luckily even while the traveling felt like it took forever thanks to the emotional shock of his whole home crumbling in on itself or more of his home deciding to implode and take all his hard-earned treasures with it. Regardless of how it felt it was only mere moments before he shot out the other end and landed with a harsh thud and a low groan right next to a few chattering voices.

For a moment after the groan he was silent, still and curious. Had he made it to the red kingdom? What if when he opened his eyes his lower half was missing from such an entrance? And of Rosy, where had she ended up and would he ever be able to give her an earful about running and leaving him? Not that he really needed her, considering just like his kingdom that had fallen to pieces before his eyes ...he wasn't that attached to her, unlike he was to his possessions that he was still irked about loosing.

At any rate these were ever important questions, especially that second one. But considering he could feel pain coming from his knees that he landed on he decided he was good and slowly opened his eyes a hand reaching blindly out to grab whatever or whoever was next to him, only the new leverage was rather soft and didn't feel like it could aid in standing him up right. As his vision cleared the hand on his head lowered and he found himself in kneed position next to a rather intimidating man with his opposite hand on said mans backside. "Well this could be worse." It was all he could think to say at first before laughing and giving the man an awkwardly friendly pat to lighten the mood.

Glancing from the man and letting his hand slip to his knees he looked ahead and noticed Rosy and yet another female whom appeared to be from the silver kingdom. "Rosy." Looks like this was the right kingdom after all, judging by his friend and the decorations he could see around them.
