Melanie
Mel had a constant frown on her face, and woke up screaming from nightmares most nights. She didn't look James or Athena in the eyes. She seemed afraid of them every time they came near her. She felt more like an animal. She was trapped in a cage, eating what they gave her. She excersized when they were gone, and read most of the time. She no longer looked peaceful. Now she was just staring at the ceiling.

========================================================= Athena BlackdawnSighing she finally marked her book and stood up. "Look here girlie.", since she still lacked knowledge of Melanie's name. "If you agree one not to attack me, two not to escape, three not to call the police nor anyone else, and four not to piss me off. I'll let you out of the cage. And into the house to take a bath.", she stated. Now holding her key to the cage. She was a few feet away.
As she waited on Mel's answer. Boredly she cleaned her finger nails free of dirt. Only to roll her eyes. Today Mel could see who she really was. The girl who Irish step danced and had Roy chasing her. "Oh yeah and number five no trying to burn our house nor barn down. That'd be very bad.", she stated. A bit more coldly now.

Mel jumped when she was addressed. Immediately she sat up, facing the woman. She knew this girl wasn't aware of the kidnapping, but was playing her part as a warden. She heard the terms, and slowly nodded afterwards. It wasn't like she could do any of those things. A weretiger was too strong. And the thought of taking a bath, or even just getting out of the cage was a good enough offer to make her do almost anything.
She recgonized this girl. From the festival. She was the girl Roy was fawing over. She liked Roy, but didn't think he liked her back. He treated her more like a friend than anything, so she accepted that was probably all she'd ever be. She nodded at the last request.

========================================================= Athena BlackdawnShe opened the door and stood back. And when Melanie got out. Gently more then anything she held Melanie's wrist. "Sorry if I seem, eh, bitchy. Some seasons aren't friend to the ones who want to stay cub free for now.", she said. Clearly stating she was in 'heat' were style. "I know why he's taken you. And try to talk to him more often. I've got a bit more patience then he does some days.", she stated.
Now she was walking Melanie into the house. And took her to a bathroom. It was clearly hers. Since it had bottles of bath wash and such. Looking Melanie over,"I got some joggers I can loan you.", she stated well more of like a suggestion. Just waiting for the girl to take the offer.

Mel tried not to flinch when her wrist was grabbed, even when it was gently. She frowned. "Why should I talk to him? He took me from everyone I care about." she said. She was taken to the bathroom, and it was clear it was a girl's bathroom. When an offer was made, she nodded meekly.

Leaving for a moment she came back with jogger pants and a sweat shirt that would fit Melanie better then her. "You know, us weres from first hand stories I know. Some times are caged by hunters. To exam them and their shifting ability. Or how fast some one of a branch of a species heal.", she leaned against the counter now. "I mean whose the real monsters? Humans who think they rule everything and try to rule the beauty of the wildness which is intended to be wild. Or... A were like myself. Who understands you can never tame beauty since it's what you're breed, or bitten into.", she took a deep breath. "And don't get me on the human eater parts either. Some do that cause they're just low good for nothing weres, or they're rabid, or just to weak and/or old to hunt for food. Most attacks are meant to turn someone and end up in death with one of the two.", she said in a cool voice.

Mel looked aside. "Both sides are at fault. It means both sides are monstrous." she said. "If you're determined on showing wereanimals aren't bad, then why do you let him keep me? He took me to be his mate. I don't want to be." she said. She looked scared again at that thought. If he was determined to make her his mate...and she still hated him...then what? Would he take her by force? She started shaking.

========================================================= Athena BlackdawnSighing she listened to the young human girl. Then rubbed her back gently. "Now look here. If you remember that good looking guy you were talking to at the fair. That's him, it's James. He's like a brother to me. And I know he'd not take you if he thought you'd not make a good couple.", she stated. "Look the shower head don't work. But you can draw up a bath and take your time.", she said in a gentle tone. "Weres some times live short lives even if they had not killed a human. I was out hunting some rabbits, and...", she said. Only to pull her hoodie and shirt up. The pair of ribs under her bra's under wire bared a pale scar like it was a silver ribbon almost sewn into her skin. "That's what I got. I had to call James to scare the guy away so I could get home and heal.", she lowered it back down after a moment.

Mel listened, but it didn't help that much. She was still kidnapped. She was still nor allowed to leave. She saw the scar, and knew that some humans didn't live long because of weres. All this went both ways. She still started the bath while the woman spoke. Mel blinked as she remembered the boy from yesterday. So he took her. They didn't know that much about each other. Mel looked down. "But why kidnapping? Couldn't he just ask me out instead?"

Mel nodded. It was strange, but she felt she could trust this girl. When she left the room Mel undressed then relaxed in the bath, cleaning herself off, and calming herself down. She had to 'behave' when she was out of her cage. Just like an animal. If she was bad, she'd be put back in. She wondered if the rest of her life was gonna be like this. Trapped, only let out when she promised to be obedient. Eventually she finished washing, and got out. She drained the,tub, and dried herself off. "I'm done." she said at normal volume, knowing the weretiger would hear her just fine. She got dressed in the different, warmer clothes, then walked out of the bathroom.

========================================================= Athena BlackdawnDuring that time was reading 'Clash of Kings' in the living room. Hearing Melanie she yawned and stood up. Only to stretch like a cat on it's hind legs. "So what is it you want to eat? I know you get mostly cold or not so warm food.", she stated. Then she put her book down. "Oh and I got a bunch of books. Long as you don't dog fold the pages. I may loan some to you.", she smiled tiredly. Only to led Melanie to the kitchen which was a bit small and not to big.

Melanie smiled. "Anything, as long as it isn't a sandwich." she said. That was, all James brought her, and she was getting sick of sandwiches, no matter how nutritious they were. She also smiled at the other's offer. "I don't dog ear or fold pages. Especially not if its someone else's book I'm reading."

Melanie watched the other cook. It made her realize how long it's been since she really watched her own mother cook. Usualy she was just in her room or on the couch. She was distant from her familiy, but she still cared. Now she realized how much she missed them. She was still mad at James. He took her away from everyone she cared about.
She still tried not to despise him. Clearly she was gonna be arond here for quite a while. He wanted her for whatever reason. She constantly wondered what the cage was for. They were wereanimals. Wouldn't it be easier to keep a human in a room with a locked door? That would have been good enough to stop Melanie after a couple tries. Yet instead they used a big cage. That kept a worry in her. Why did they have it in the first place? And was it to make her feel like wereanimals used to? Locked up by hunters?
