Linnet slowly made her way, walking beside Camellia, a mouth full of hay. The journey back to the warren would feel longer then before, but at least the bleeding had slowed and the pain had dulled a bit.
Her ears perked when she heard a gunshot go off. I hope no one has met Inle tonight.' She though right before a dog began barking somewhere on the farm, she hoped that they wouldn't have to deal with it.

Darkbrier grunted and nodded to Crocus, not wanting to drop the carrot and hay she'd managed to get a hold of by speaking. The bleeding had slowed, and hopefully the dirt would help more with that and with masking the scent even slightly. Ebony was going to give her a sound lecturing when she got home, she was sure, but at least it looked like she was going to get home. All be it in a great deal of pain, but while she couldn't run as fast as usual she could still run, and there wasn't a thing going to convince her to stop right now. As long as she kept an eye out for snares, anyway.

Ray just stared and blinked as the other buck shouted at him. He couldn't understand what the problem was. "But he... " he blinked as Dogsbane unearthed the cat's body and moved in slowly to nudge it with his nose, "Wee furry critter? ..." standing up fully he found himself smiling once more, buck-teeth bared in his best derpy grin (well as close to a grin as a rabbit can muster) "We did it! The butterflies hath returned to me and the wee merriment on the breeze helped sing him to his rest" he rubbed his front paws together in delight, feeling mighty proud of himself for 'helping'.
The barking of the dog in the distance and screams of those around him suddenly sent Ray spazzing around in a circle, "ARK NOO!" before taking off in some random direction, "ACK! Me songs, they will'nea do any good against this fowl beasty!" he wasn't entirely sure what direction the warren was in, but Ray felt safer knowing he was actually getting somewhere... wherever that might be.

Dogs nodded back. "I won't let you down, Crocus." He whispered, then stood before the others. "Alright, you lot. Stay close to me. Whatever happens, don't break your formation. If the dog comes, I'll give him something to chase. And the rest of you head back for the warren once he does...but only if it comes to that. Alright, time to go." He had no time to be chasing Ray. That rabbit would be the death of them all. He'd protect who he could.
Instead of bolting, he took very cautious steps. He was thankful for the wide field and the mounds of dirt and plants between him and the dog. He hopped slowly and carefully, heading towards the down.

Camellia looked over at Linnet again, then back at Dogs. Scratching the back of her head with her big foot, she gets herself ready to sneak home. "Linnet, are you ok carrying that pile of hay? she asked, watching Dogs quietly step into the wide open field.

The owsla officer nosed the wounded rabbit's shoulder, helping her along. "I'll carry your flay-rah, Darkbrier. On my honor, I'll give it back when we get to the down, promise. But you'll need all your strength. Same goes for anything you've got, Linnet. Follow Dogsbane and get home with Frith's speed. We're not there yet."

Barking, spit flying in his excitement, the dog bounded towards them, setting up a sharp keen as he starts to track the rabbits. But which one to chase?
(If someone is going to play decoy, now is the time, otherwise I'll roll for a random target)

He was afraid that might happen. The dog was running towards them. He didn't even have time to wish them well, but prayed they wouldn't scatter. He wasn't going to do this for nothing.
He bolted, not towards the dog but sort of at a weird angle. Like he told them he would, he'd give the great mutt a real chase. He just hoped he'd be fast enough to tell them of his adventures.
Well, his name WAS Dogsbane.

Kalei had run back at Crocus' word, but her team was safe now, and heading back to the warren. She'd return to check up on the other groups, only to see a familiar dog headed towards the team she'd met earlier. Frightened, she followed it.

camellia's trailing behind post to watch crocus lead and watch over the two injuredRecognizing that pattern of his, Camellia knew Dogs went off to distract the farmer's dog. "Ok everyone now's the time to hurry. Follow Crocus as close as you can. If the hay gets too heavy... leave it... I will watch over you guys from the back" she said, listening with her ear wondering how far/close the dog is at this time. "Besides," she added, "if he gets too close i'll kick him in the face."

Darkbrier sighed and stopped to pass the flay over to Crocus. "I was going to give it to the marlis. They and the kittens need it more." Then the dog began baying and the breath hissed out of her. Dogsbane bolted before she could even give it a thought and she thumped one of her hinds once angrily. The thought drifted across her mind in her frustration to beg Inle' to lay off. The others had already had enough this eve. "Mayhap I'll keep it for now, you need to make sure the others get home now. I'll be behind you, don't worry."

Linnet looked over to Camellia when she heard a question from the doe, she thought for a moment before answering. “I should be-” She was cut off when she heard the dog grow closer, I guess they did have to deal with it. She turned her head to where the sounds were coming from, the dog was almost on them.
Before Linnet could react Dogsbane took off from the front of their group, trying to lead the dog away from them. She was a bit astounded at the buck’s speed, but he was a runner. She watched as the dog flew off after him, Linnet wished him luck under her breath.

Crocus understood what Dogsbane was doing, and she trusted him. She knew that his actions were what any runner would do, but there was no time to tell him how proud she was right now. Instead, she called out to the others. "Change of plans. I'm in front. If you're hurt, hang back, let our casualties run in the middle where they'll be the safest. We're gonna run as hard as possible. Dogsbane will catch up with later." Picking up the flay-rah, she sprinted to the front of the pack. "Get your tails in motion and let's go go go!"
