Shun blinked as she lifted up his arm, watching her carefully, then looked down as she pointed at his other hand. He extended it out to make sure that she was talking about his arm span. That seemed to be the case here. She had tapped and pointed back to the original hand as well. Two lengths perhaps? He thought for a moment, looking at the distance between his two hands.

"That's about... eleven feet? Maybe twelve?" he said, wanting to confirm this with the girl before telling the shopkeeper that.

Oh no, no, that was way too much. Mitsu shook her head and lifted her free hand and held up a single finger before pointing between his two arms again. Just one run from finger tip to finger tip would be enough.

Ziggy in the mean time seemed to be getting restless. She began to wiggle in Mitsu's hold her eyes growing darker the longer she stared at Shun. Obviously she was plotting.

Ah. That wasn't quite right.

"So around five and a half then," he nodded before noticing Ziggy beginning to wiggle in Mitsu's grasp. Shun eyed her warily as he also saw that she was staring at him. It was like she was up to something. His good eye narrowed at her, as if telling her that he was onto the cat.

"We'll take five and a half feet of this rope," he told the shopkeeper. The ghost in charge of the store nodded, and went to cut out that length.

Eight seeds it costed. Paying for the rope, the reaper motioned towards his lycan to make their way out of the shop. They could try rigging Ziggy up either outside or at Ayumi's house.

"Hopefully she'll stay put for this.." he muttered under his breath.

Yes, five and a half feet sounded about right and Mitsu nodded to confirm Shun's guess. Once the shop keeper cut the rope for them and it was paid for Mitsu followed Shun back out onto the street with their new purchase. Ziggy was getting restless probably wanting to stretch her legs but Mitsu was afraid to put her down. Instead she held onto her nodding to Shun as they made their way back to Ayumi's.

As they walked Mitsu took up one end of the rope with a free hand and looked it over. The easiest thing would probably be to make a figure eight harness and tie the knot above Ziggy's shoulder blades. That way it wouldn't risk choking her and she likely wouldn't pull free. It was just going to be a matter of holding the feline still while Mitsu made that happen. Likely Shun wasn't going to be able to help much. Ziggy would probably attack him if he got to close.

When they were back at Ayumi's Mitsu tried to fiddle with the rope to come up with something that would be easy to get on and off. A slip knot came to mind but she wanted something that would be a little more reliable and less likely to pull free. After a few minutes of tinkering Mitsu thought she had something but her finished product....looked more like a noose. It was not what she was aiming for.

Shun was quiet as they walked back towards Ayumi's home. He just cast a glance at Ziggy now and then to keep an eye on her. Once entering the home, he could smell cooked food in the air. And quite frankly, it smelled pretty damn good. Taking off his shoes, he turned towards Mitsu, seeing her fiddle with the rope.

A noose?

Well. That would certainly keep the cat from pulling too much. The Reaper raised an eyebrow with a light of amusement within his good eye.

Hearing them come in, Ayumi peeked over by the threshold and smiled.

"Oh! Just in time. Just a few more minutes and it'll be all set," she noted quickly before disappearing to do the final things.

Mitsu began to fumble with the rope again having a hard time of it now that Ziggy was squirming around. She missed that amused look Shun had over the whole thing, if she had seen it she probably would have questioned him about it. Instead she only looked up when Ayumi came in to let them know food was almost done. There was a brief nod before she went back to work on the rope.

It took a great deal of work and even more so to get the harness onto Ziggy but it seemed to do the trick. The figure eight harness still used the same noose like knot. Mitsu couldn't think of anything else that would keep it secure and not unravel. When she felt the feline was set Mitsu set Ziggy on the floor only for the feline to go rigid and fall over like the weight of the world was on her.

What had happened?

Mitsu tried to set Ziggy up on her feet again but the same thing happened. It was like the cat refused to stand on her own. Gravity over took her each time and she flopped onto her side her tails thrashing in an upset fashion. Not sure what to make of it Mitsu turned her attention to Shun with a questioning gaze.

Shun nodded to Ayumi, then continued to watch Mitsu as she did her work. When she finally managed to get the harness and leash onto Ziggy, he quirked his brow once more as the cat looked like she was going pretty stiff there. He watched her with intrigue before catching that look from his lycan.

"Perhaps she doesn't like the leash. She'll get used to it though."

"Dinner's ready!"

Glancing towards the room with the small table and floor pillows, he could see the food laid out. There was rice, some stir fried vegetables, as well as some sort of fish. It looked like there was a smaller meat dish as well. And on the floor, he noticed a chunk of raw fish and milk... likely for Ziggy.

"Come on, let's go eat," he said quietly, figuring the cat would get over it soon.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:21 pm

Mitsu supposed that could be the case but she turned back to Ziggy with concern. Trying one more time she picked the cat up and placed her on all four feet before she once again wobbled and flopped over on her side. She heard Ayumi from the other room and tried to poke Ziggy into moving but the feline did nothing. She was stiff as a board laying on the floor.

With a light sigh Mitsu nodded, taking off her shoes while she was at the door and starting her way through the house. She tried to force Ziggy to walk on the leash but only ended up dragging the cat most of the way to the dining room. With a small huff Mitsu finally reached down and picked the cat up and carried her the rest of the way before depositing her next to the dishes of raw fish and milk. At least Ziggy wasn't upset enough to avoid eating though she did so while laying down. Looked like she was going to make a fuss about the whole ordeal as long as possible.

Once Ziggy was set Mitsu made sure to tie off the leash before she took a seat next to the table as well looking over the food Ayumi had prepared. It smelled rather nice though Mitsu was leery to start before she was told to. Instead she nodded her thanks to the ghost waiting for her or Shun to begin.

Taking a seat at the table, Shun looked to see that Ziggy was still causing a bit of a fuss with the leash for now. But, she was eating, so there was that. Once he was comfortably seated, he looked towards the two females at the table, as his eye settled on Ayumi.

"Go on, eat up!" she encouraged as she picked up her bowl of rice and started to take some bits and pieces of other things to eat as well.

"Thank you again for this," the reaper said quietly while bowing his head a bit. He too picked up his bowl and chopsticks to start eating. Breaking off a piece of the fish, he went on to give that a try first.

"This is really good.." he complimented sincerely. The fish was fresh, and it had a great deal of flavor to it.

"Oh! I forgot. Would you like some tea or something else to drink?" the ghost woman offered, almost forgetting about beverages.

"Tea would be fine," he replied.

Once the other two had started eating Mitsu turned to her plate her eyes settling on the utensils. She hadn't given much thought to the fact that they would be using chopsticks and Mitsu hadn't quite perfected using them. It would no doubt be rude to use her hands and for a few long moments all Mitsu could do was stare wondering what she should do.

Watching Shun breaking off a piece of fish with his own chopsticks Mitsu finally ventured to pick up her own, holding one in each hand. She looked back to Shun again to see how he was holding them before trying to mimic that exactly. It was safe to say she was far off, the chopsticks barely stable in her hold. She worked them around to try and get a better grip before finally turning to her own fish and rice. Maybe she had to think of it like a medical process. It was like using a pair of tweezers. Carefully she reached down to pick up some of the rice but one of the chopsticks slipped sending the rice onto the table.

It was not like using tweezers.

"T-Tea is fine." Mitsu said softly, her voice still hoarse and sounding somewhat dry.

Ayumi nodded with a warm smile before pouring out tea for the two of them. She soon paused when Mitsu fumbled with the chopsticks, however.

"Oh! One moment," she said before hurrying up and disappearing for a bit. She soon returned with a small fork and spoon, "Sorry. I should have asked what you'd prefer to eat with. You can use these if you'd like."

Sitting back down, she set the utensils by Mitsu, "Hopefully this tea will help soothe your throat some. It's a personal mix of mine."

Picking the cup, Shun blew on it gently so he could take a sip. It was also pretty good. A little different from the normal green teas, but nice nonetheless. In hindsight, he probably should have asked if Mitsu wanted a spoon as well. He should have recalled that she wasn't very adept with chopsticks yet.

Mitsu paused when Ayumi rose from the table and hustled away only to return shortly after with a fork and spoon. Taking both Mitsu smiled thankfully setting her chopsticks aside. She would get much further in her meal this way.

Using the fork she carefully broke off a piece of fish to try nodding agreeably to the flavor. "It's very good, thank you." She tried the tea next noticing the warm soothing sensation as it ran down her throat. It was a perfect match to the meal and for a moment Mitsu just ate in silence enjoying the different flavors before she ventured to speak again. This time she had an easier time of it.

"Do you practice a more traditional means of medicine? Like an apothecary?" Mitsu was rather interested to know about this woman's practice. She had studied under Nurse Cricket but really only knew first aid as far as treating wounds and helping with fever. As far as curing an illness she would be at a loss.

Glad to see that Mitsu was having an easier time eating now, Shun focused on his meal in the meantime. Though, he was still listening while he enjoyed his food.

"A little bit. I find the normal remedies can be a good supplement to fear healing. Not only does it save some of my own energy, but it allows the body to recover naturally to an extent as well, which I think is fairly important," Ayumi replied with a smile. She seemed very happy that the two were enjoying her food as well.

"At the same time, the fear healing can cover a wider variety of things, and is usually more effective in treating someone initially."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 22, 2012 7:38 pm

Mitsu nodded seeming interested in the subject. Beyond her own quick fear healing during a fight Mitsu had never really tried much in practice. Even on a whim it was rather hit and miss and not something she had managed to perfect. "I would like to learn someday...to be a better healer," Mitsu admitted, pushing around the rice on her plate now as she was lost in thought.

The conversation was a quiet and general one and once the meal was done Mitsu helped clean up before waiting for Shun so they could go back to their room for the night.

During the meal, Shun was pretty quiet for the most part, keeping to himself and enjoying the company in general. When he was done, he stood up and bowed lightly to Ayumi.

"Thank you for the meal," he said quietly, then went on to their room so that they could get some rest that night.

"It's no problem," Ayumi smiled in a warm and soft way, "If you need anything else, feel free to let me know. Otherwise, have a good night's rest."

That said, she retreated to her own quarters.

"She really is a nice woman," the reaper murmured quietly while climbing into bed after he had gotten ready. He looked towards Mitsu for the moment, wondering if she wanted to share or if she wanted her own for the night. There were more than one in the room, after all.
