Kicheko snickered quietly to herself. It sounded like a lot of the adults were out and about looking for them! Man, they were great hiders. In fact, she couldn't even hear most of her siblings anymore! Dang...they had gotten REALLY go-
She yelped quietly as teeth closed down on her neck. A paw was placed over her mouth as she was whisked away, carried off by some strange lion.

"Ah...I guess so," Sarcire told Ram nervously. She wasn't entirely happy about going into enemy territory, but for the cubs' sake she would go.
"I want to help bring back all the cubs, especially my little brothers and sisters!" she went on, looking from the genet to the prisoner and back again. She certainly trusted the little mammal more than the stranger lion.

A loud crash nearby caught Furiko's attention and he turned his gaze in the direction of the sound only to be surprised by the voice he heard. It was Miguel. He'd heard the whole thing and was going to tell everyone he had been tortured. He would take the news they were coming back to the pride. Perhaps Furiko could use that to his advantage. The pride would be on guard waiting for them to come all he had to do was give Miguel time to get there and the pride time to ready retaliation.
After Ram released Furiko he stood up and stretched his shoulders. He turned his gaze from Ram to the other two lions and took them in. Three to one wasn't a fair fight so he would have to be cunning, as a gypsy he was being trained how to be cunning. He really didn't know if they knew the way or not but Furiko felt like pushing his luck and finding out.
"When your ready it's this way." He motioned back the way he came while already mapping out the very long way back to where the cubs were being kept.

MINI-GAME
...Into Enemy Territory... Numbers to Match: 10, 3
It seems the Bahari'mtoto have found themselves a prisoner and following some rather nasty blackmailing and interrogation from the pridal leader, this prisoner has now agreed to lead the way to the Kizingo'zaa and the cubs! However, this prisoner won't go down without a fight and has decided that he's going to try and mislead the scouting party.
Will he succeed?
In order to discover his secret plot you must do the following:
- Roll one 10-sided dice
- Match one of the numbers rolled by me.
- When the first roll has been matched, the group have become suspicious.
- When the second roll has been matched, the group have worked out that he's lying!
The success of this scouting and rescue attempt will determine how many cubs are retrieved before the end of this chapter of the meta. The fate of the cubnapped offspring is now in the paws of Sarcire and Vainamo!
Note: Neither Furiko or Ram will roll during this part of the meta as it will be up to the two most observant Bahari'mtoto members to show their strengths.

Sarcire moved out behind Ram, Vainamo and the stranger lion who had said he would lead them to the missing cubs. She wasn't certain where they were being led, or even that they could trust the prisoner's fear of Ram to keep him honest.
Not that the blue and grey lioness was so sanguine about the subtleties of betrayal.

Vainamo's mind was on the cubs, once they started walking. The poor little guys...they'd probably never get over this... Or maybe they would. Kids could be resilient, right? He'd been pretty hard to shake as a kid, anyway. Aw, who was he kidding - he still was a kid. At heart.
Vainamo tried to carry some hope and lightheartedness as they began their trek to rescue the young babbins, and put to rest some worried mother hearts. He wasn't sure just what Ram had said or done to convince the theif to show them the way, but he certainly was glad for it. Still, he couldn't completely trust the theif. Nope. But that was why the rate-GENET, was with them, too. In case this guy was lying, right?

Sarcire was really on edge now. The stranger had no real reason to lead them to the cubs, did he now? They didn't even know why the cubs had been 'napped in the first place.
"Vai, Ram," she whispered. "Can we really trust him to lead us to the cubs?" She wasn't sure it would help, but as long as others were aware that betrayal was a possibility, it would be okay...right?

Ram followed in silence, his eyes fixed firmly on Furiko as he proceeded to lead them towards the cubs. He was aware that both Vai and Sarcire were particularly on edge and given their sheltered lives within the pride lands, he wasn't overly surprised by this. Alas, he was decidedly calmer and now that he had painted a very clear picture of Furiko's fate (as well as his friends') he was satisfied that the captive lion would have the intelligence not to mislead them.
Nevertheless...
"If he's lying I will slay him and hang his entrails from the trees as decoration," Ram replied casually to Sarcire's concerns, his brow lifting as he glanced round momentarily to check that both his 'scouts' were safe. Admittedly he could have been a lot more graphic with his descriptions but he had erred on the side of caution lest either of the pair faint.
"We do have the Genet after all," Ram pointed out after a slight pause. "In theory, our captive is only here to speed things up."

Yes, there was the genet, that was true. But Sarcire had to blanch at Ram's casual description of the awful way he'd treat their unwilling guide if he lied.
"I...guess you're right," she replied quietly. "But...that's...really cruel," the young lioness went on. She wasn't really pleased about being out of the pride like this, searching for an enemy. It was so awkward, and she couldn't even enjoy the new and different scenery because they were searching for missing cubs!

"I guess so," Vainamo winced at Ram's colorful way of dealing with the theif.
"So long as we're not being lead in to an ambush or anything like that," he said quietly, "I mean, what if he was supposed to get caught? What if this was all part of their plan? Then he runs us around for who knows how long until ..."
Oh, just what was he even saying? That was ridiculous! He was just being worried and cautious and...yeah, maybe he had lived a sheltered life... He had to trust in Ram. Yeah, that was it!

Sarcire nodded to herself at Vainamo's words. "That's really sneaky." It wasn't something she was accustomed to, thinking in such devious circles. The lioness' life to date had been fairly open and carefree. If this was what adulthood was like, she'd gladly go back to being a cub like her little siblings.
The little siblings that they were trying to find! She had to keep focused on that.

Furiko glanced back at the lions who were acting as escorts. They were skeptical of him and he wasn't surprised by that after all they had reason to be and just didn't know it. As he walked in the lead he was slowly diverting his course from the straight shot way to the prides borders to a way that would take them over some of the roughest terrain in the pride. It would take them almost half a day to make it through them if he worked it right.

Vainamo laughed a little, trying to lighten things, "Well, maybe I was told too many stories about evil lions as a cub or something."
Still, he was kinda suspicious. But they had to take the risk. For the cubs! They had to do whatever it took to get them back. Even if it meant walking in to impending doom!
The path they were being lead down didn't seem very....efficient. Not for the theives to make the trip to and from, with young cubs in tow.... This made him even more suspicious. Oh gods, what if this guy was trying to tug them around until....untill....... Vainamo's mind couldn't even fathom what they thieves might be planning.

Sarcire laughed nervously with Vainamo. This day, this whole situation had her nervous and on edge. It seemed like nothing good had happened today. And now this lion who seemed to be leading them...oddly. She'd have thought they were taking the cubs somewhere much closer. After all, how long could someone stand to carry a cub - an unwilling one! - around?

Vainamo yelped as he lost his footing and slid a bit.
Yeah, there was now a crap ton of 'suspicion.' Like crap they were able to carry all those cubs through this terrain, and have gotten so far already. VEEERY suspicious. But....if this was the wrong way, why hadn't the Genet spoken up? it put doubt in his mind about his suspicions. Just enough doubt...
