Jaromila thought about it for a minute and realized that Haides was important to her. She may have just met him the the previous day, but she liked being able to help someone. She found she liked giving him advice because she wanted him to be happy.
"Yeah, he is important to me too, I did not really know it until you mentioned it. Though I am curious what you mean by a different best friend, Beta,"Mila asked. She may be wise, but when it came to things dealing directly with herself, she could be a little slower on the uptake.

Beta smiled at the other filly's agreement with her statement, but seemed puzzled by her question. "What I mean? Exactly what I said." She tossed her head in a shrug. "You and Haides are best friends in a different way than Haides and I are best friends. The bond feels different."

Jaromila tried to figure out what she meant, but it was hard when it was dealing with herself. She tried to picture someone else in her shoes and what she would say to them.
"Oh, I think I know what you mean, Beta, kind of like Haides and I were just meant to be. Kind of like soulmates, I suppose you could call it,"Mila explained. She hoped that was the right word for it, but she guessed she would see.

Beta thought about it, then smiled. "Maybe. I don't really know. I just know it's different." She giggled. "Haides would think that's embarrassing." Though the colt thought lots of romantic and sentimental things were embarrassing.

Jaromila laughed lightly at that, before gracefully nodding her head in reply.
"I dare say you are right, he would probably be very embarrassed by such a thing. I think he can express the feeling, but it is just different right now from how others express it. I do think you are right though, it does seem different to the way you two are friends,"Mila agreed.

Jaromila thought about the question, looking up into the sky above.
"Well, I like spending time with my family, it really makes me feel happy. I also like helping others, giving advice where I can, so others are happy. I like spending some time in nature, enjoying everything it has to offer me. Oh and I like reading when I can, since it usually relaxes me,"Mila replied.

"So do I! Especially when we play games together." Giving advice wasn't bad either; it had definitely helped Haides--at least a little. "I like nature. Haides does too. Haides's favorite part are the stars. He's good at storytelling too." She tilted her head in confusion at her last comment. "Reading?"

Jaromila smiled brightly, also loving to look up at the night sky.
"Ooo, I love stars, the night sky is just so beautiful to me. I love looking up into the sky at night and just enjoying the sheer beauty of it. And yes, I like to read, kind of learned how to myself when I have found abandoned books,"Mila answered.

Jaromila looked a little surprised when Beta did not know what a book was. She thought she remembered Haides say that their mother had a chosen human.
"I suppose your mother's chosen has never shown you a book, I know humans have lots of them. They are rectangular objects that have these white leafs that they call pages. They have information and stories in them that you can read,"Mila explained.

"Oooh." She thought for a minute, then asked, "Are they colorful on the outside? Dea had a colorful box that opened up and she stared at a lot."

Jaromila smiled softly with the question and nodded her head quietly.
"Yes, they come in many different colors and some of them have pictures on them and in them. From what I have observed, humans can look at them for a very long time. They seem to get very engrossed in reading them and I can see why,"Mila replied.

"Hnnn..." Beta glanced over at Haides, who'd laid down and appeared to be asleep. "I wonder if Haides can read? He knows lots of stories."
