-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.The being moved slowly, like a shadow moving across the ground as the sun began to set, stretching slowly towards his target within the library. A backroom was on records. Behind the help counter, behind a locked multiplated door made of unknown material, behind a labyrinth filled with aimless monsters, was a place where the library of the DMA kept it's darkest knowledge. And if it was truly dark, then it would information on Aternima Island, maybe the being known as Dr.Doctor, even... The masked man emerged from the ceiling, slipping straight through from the roof above. He shifted through the walls, moving through them as if they were a dense, grip-able fog, and then he was finally behind the help counter. The staff wasn't the wiser, or at least, didn't think it was worthwhile to chase him. None have come back from what a lot have called "Eden's apple." At least, not without a guide. He pushed right through the metal door, effortlessly, and began his search.

Paradox, being the discerning evil being that she is, played things according to intuition and the inevitable patterns she would be sure to see follow through with the players she was watching being pulled and yanked about the great city like the marionettes they were, and in that left much of the "watching" to the recording devices installed in her lair to take a more fun route, she would say to anyone who asked, and keep an eye on the schools on foot. Using chromatophore to replicate a weaker witch's soul was a simpler matter than another variety, so Paradox thought a nice visit to the DMA's library would be nice unwinding of a day which, admittedly, was a little more stressful than she would have liked: the planning, the cues, the timing, always timing!: in ways that would be too much for other individuals, and for many more a series of causal reactions to be written off as fate. But, as there is a "wheel" of fate, so too must there be a turning force, a managing body lining each tooth to each cog, and there too aligning all the wheels of fates and destinies of the ignorant with the proper balance, the right touch, the leave a causality desirable for an immortal. One way or another, she thought, something interesting is bound to happen here.
Meanwhile, Vautner would not be able to find what he was looking for. The island was pretty well buried. The only shreds of information left on the place were tiny clippings held on a ridiculous desk in either Charlotte's or Death's office, and they felt inclined to let the whole thing go. As for the Doctor... He doesn't like his name in public very much. Paradox would be there in the reference section, where all the seniors and ambitious teachers hung out looking excited about some wording on some phrase they've a thousand times over, waiting for a passerby with conversation set to Venus Flytrap.
”An interesting section, isn't it?” She said without looking up from her book.

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.The apple was grasped tightly and torn from it's tree in brutal fashion, leaves being shaken loose from their place, as the dark, abyssal hand that held the red fruit squeezed it dry of it's knowledge, only to be left unsated again. Nothing; once more. The man, if you would call him such a thing, emerged from the vault thoroughly covered in blood. Remnants of the beasts, the red, coursed over his dark hair, drops falling from the loose strands. A spattered trail was formed from Vautner as he approached Paradox, knowing that hiding his presence wasn't such a necessity anymore. Now standing in front of her, a rumble of a modified voice came out his red streaked, white mask. At this point, everyone that wasn't her was gone. Something told them that this library wasn't a safe viewing distance of what was happening. Also, they needed to cleanse their minds of the frightful being that had emerged from the vault. Call it a trait long abandoned by civilized creatures. Instinct. That's what told them to simply step back even with their demonic capabilities. That what told them that this man was dangerous.
"I have more interest in you." He said bluntly, since Paradox was the only one still here.

”Me? But you were just in he place no one was suppose to go... How could I be more interesting than a taboo?” Paradox wouldn't spell out the pleades attached to the situation, but suffice to say the essence of the secrets this man seeks, like all others, is like the moon to nearest shore; approachable is it is unattainable.
"You seem to be striving for something... This is the right place for that." She glanced and scanned right through him. It seemed like she was only interesting as far as she was interested. A man with that much bloo on his face was had to be striving more than most. In that he belonged to an elite club. "You look tired... You ok?" She flipped a page of her book.]/color]

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.The blood had been condensing into his hand, filling into his palm with a defiance to gravity, influenced by his power. He was going to play this close to his chest; quick, clean, just like everything else. "Don't mistake this blood for my own." He then threw down the hand shaped blood with a snap of his wrist onto the ground, it landing sharply with a grotesque splatter. His form was now clear of foreign impurities. "And the interest lies in the fact that I arrived from a place defined as taboo, and yet you stand stalwart, neither teacher, staff, or beast within being capable of such. Nerve or combat, otherwise." The man was confirming her as a target of interest. "Are you here to stop me or to say something?"

”Me? Oh, just doing some research.” Paradox had a funny way of telling the truth and lying in one breath. Perhaps it came with the name.
"Why? Would you like me to stop you?" Paradox begen making simple observ ations. "I can tell you aren't from around here. If you were, you'd know there's not much in there but a dissatisfying taste of what we call the 'Forbidden Fruit.' But more than that, no student here is as direct as you. That comes from outside."
"I'm Lucy, by the way." She looked right through him. He had no soul.
"You may as well sit down, soulless one."

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On."I'm fine standing," he promptly replied. Vautner realized at once that he was, and had probably had been under her observation for a while. He wasn't alarmed by this fact because he wasn't aware initially. But he was aware now. Coy was a form of demeanor he didn't give time for. "And you can call me whatever you want, because something tells me you know a lot more about me than just that I'm not from around here. Lucy."

”Does that interest you?” The fish was on the hook now. Time to reel it in and count the spots... Or stripes. "You know, I don't need my soul perception to see you're nervous... Take it easy. What do I care if what you want in there? I'm just working on a paper, doing a little people watching too."

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.Vautner knew this interaction needed to be cut short. This woman was venomous. The longer you were near her, the deeper it set in. "Don't mistake caution for nervousness." He grabbed the book from Paradox and placed it into a shelf, fusing the pages shut. "Now, how long are you going to dance around the subject, before you tell me what I need to do to make you talk."

”Easy now... You wouldn't want to make a scene. After all, I'm not the one who went into the forbidden area.” She laughed. "Oh, calm down! I won't use it against you. But you have to see my point of view. A graduate student researching a paper on the nature of the soul," She began telling him what she was about in her own roundabout way, "and then some stranger appears from the forbidden section. Now here we are."

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.The man acknowledged then that she wasn't going to budge on her facade. He pulled the book back out and set it on the table next to her. Beginning again to Paradox, Vautner spoke again. "Well.. As a fellow scholar, I'd like to look at your references. Would you be willing to share such information?"

”There, was that so hard?” Paradox stiffled a laugh. "I don't know why you're so tense, but I wish you'd try to relax." She set her book down to the side of her, being down with it a while ago.
"As for my references, they're the usual suspects: the upanishads, the suffi writings, the illuminated manuscripts, the various words of saints from religions around the world; but there's one book I haven.t gotten a chance to read. The Necronomicon." Her eyes flashed upward at Vautner was she said the name. It was a book not meant to even be mentioned, and certainly was not in either library.

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.Vautner only sought to be direct. The only reason this 'Lucy' would do things this way, is if she had reason to hide her identity. Or she had a immense level of pretentiousness. This book, in particular, he knew of. "And I'm guessing you need such a book to finish your research, and you think it will provide the answers I'm looking for as well?" Ultimately, he knew it wouldn't be exactly wise to give this woman this book, but if it achieved his goal...

”Well, that would be nice. If you knew how to get it I mean. But the polite thing to do in a situation like this would be to share what you were doing in there. After all, I told you what I'm doing here.” Paradox smirked at the mysterious man. She knew that with the right steering she could get him to lead her to something fun.

-Hollow-Mask- Soul: Gone. Mind Focus: Physics. Mask: On.Vautner glanced at the book through his mask. Then back at Paradox. "I'm not polite. Tell me what you know about the book." Nothing was softening on the man. She was going to have to carve out a plan with a smallest amount of information from Vautner as possible. A struggle for information from each other had began, both striving to give little to the other and to take all.
