"Feet off the desk." a voice said. Charlotte was above Atticus in the ceiling where some books were. She glanced down at him with a smile "Welcome back. Thank you for actually coming to see me unlike the other two." she said before jumping from the ceiling and landing with a couple of books.
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Atticus would sit up immediately, removing his feet from the desk. Looking up, he saw Charlotte in the air, with some books. He was actually surprised that he was unable to sense her, of course she could have had her soul protect on, but still, her powers always amazed him. "Well, the other two are young. I'm sure that they will come to see you soon." he stated as he watched Charlotte come down from the ceiling and land before him. Standing up, Atticus walked over to her, "Well, it is because of one of those two. That I am here today. Even though, I planned on seeing you later on, after I spent some alone time with Shira." he added. Atticus smiled, before becoming serious, "Look, before Shira gets here, I need to tell you that I sent Despair to the Netherworld. I ordered him to capture Texas at any cost, even if he had to fight and possibly injure Mirai. Texas is not who he appears to be. There is something dangerous about him and we need to get information out of him, by any means." Atticus did not beat around the bush, he told Charlotte everything.
Charlotte raised an eyebrow once Atticus was done speaking "Oh... she already made a realm then." she said before shrugging that off. Mirai had personally come to her before they went off training to tell her that she would be making a realm soon. She didn't mind that too much. She moved on to the issue with Texas "Alright... but I would have to say no about torturing him." she said, already knowing what Atticus meant. "If you do that, he may want to kill you, and you may cause damage to Mirai that will be beyond solving especially if things get nasty between them and Despair... I don't think you can afford to have that with your current condition." she told him calmly.
Atticus would also raise a brow at Charlotte's comment about Mirai, making a realm. All this time, he was under the impression that she was in Charlotte's domain, but clearly she wasn't. So if she indeed had her own realm out there, she will undoubtedly do her best to keep it hidden from any and all who may wish to find her, even Charlotte. Despair would have a hard time finding it, that's for sure. Atticus then looked on as Charlotte continued speaking. As she finished, Atticus sighed, "Why are you all so protective over the boy. I've been tortured plenty of times before and I'm just fine...give or take a few mental issues." he commented, making joke of himself. "If he cooperates with Despair and comes of his own free will, then it should be no problem. Especially if he wishes to keep Mirai safe, as he has been talking about so much. I will try to keep Mirai out of danger and Despair should know not to harm her. But Mirai clearly has made her decision, she wants to be treated as an equal, not to be looked down upon or protected. I can no longer treat her as my kid sister, she is responsible for her own fate, from now on." Atticus was confident that Despair would not do anything to Mirai, but if Mirai and Texas, sought to fight him, there is no doubt he would fight and that was where the problem was. "Speaking of my condition, I think that I might just give up looking for a way to save me." Atticus admitted. "I'd rather not cling to a false hope, but rather, live what little time I have left, fighting for what I see is right and loving Shira until the very end."
"I care for him because he really is a nice boy and makes Mirai genuinely happy. Something I don't see from her often since Divine died." she said. She frowned slightly as Atticus talked about giving up finding another way "I don't want you to die though... I already lost Divine and I can lose you too... you can give up but I'm still looking." she told him quietly, glancing away from him. "It's not fair that I keep losing people close to me... I want to at least keep my kids safe... Even if that means giving my life for them..." she said, muttering the last part.
As Charlotte mentioned Divine, Atticus balled his fist, he too, missed Divine, but he has moved on, thanks to Shira, so he could understand why Charlotte and Mirai like Texas so much, but still, things are never that easy. Hearing Charlotte, Atticus would frown, "I have three years, at most. I've given so much for this city, for Divine, for Shira. Honestly, I'm just tired of fighting the inevitable. I would rather die, knowing that in my last moments, I spent the remainder of my time, laughing, loving, living with those I hold dear. I don't want to die with any regrets." Atticus then went over and gave Charlotte a hug, hearing the last part about her giving her life. "Do you honestly think that we would let you give up your own life?" he asked. "Divine would surely resurrect himself and beat the hell out of me, if I even let you think about doing something so reckless." he stated. "Besides, you should focus on the other two, instead of me. Vincent and Mirai both have incredible powers, but the two are as far apart as Mirai and myself. If I can't help them, then I know you, our beloved mother, can." Atticus said with a smile.
"Wouldn't you want to continue those moments though?" Charlotte asked. "Find a way to continue living on with Shira?" she was silent as Atticus talked about how he or the others wouldn't let her give her life for him. She glanced at the ground as he hugged her "I just don't want to lose you too..." she repeated. It was hell for her after Divine died, she wouldn't admit it but it honestly was. It was difficult thinking of experiencing those feelings all over again.
Atticus has never seen Charlotte this emotional, even after Divine was killed, she didn't seem too upset about it. Clearly something in her was changing, she was beginning to show more emotions. While this made him happy, it also saddened him, because now, he knows that she will be sad if he died and that it could possibly hurt her even more than Divine's death. Atticus had been thinking over it all, why he wanted stop looking for a way to live, why he should continue. He was rationally weighing the pros and cons of both and he would finally come to a decision. With a kind embrace, Atticus would smile, "Is it really okay for me to want to live?" he asked her. "Can I be selfish and choose to live, even though it will only cause more trouble to everyone?"
Charlotte looked up at Atticus "Personally, I would be much happier seeing you living life like any human should, not having to worry about the burdens you currently hold or the stupid drama that goes on in life right now." she said with a small laugh. "Choosing to live isn't selfish though." she said before hugging him back "It is ultimately your choice. In the end, when you make your decision, I won't stop you. I will be proud of you no matter what though."
"That's good to hear." Atticus stated as he held onto Charlotte for few more seconds, "But, if I become human, I won't be with Shira anymore. I won't remember you or Vincent or Mirai. I will lose you all and I can't let that happen." Turning away from Charlotte, Atticus had a fiery passion in his voice, "No, I don't want to be human, I don't want to become a full demon and I don't want to die." He then glanced back at Charlotte and smiled, "I want to be able to live with my family and friends, as Atticus, the son of Divine and future Death scythe." Atticus had come to a conclusion. "I will search for a way to remain who I am. I will go through hell and back to do so."
Nodding at Charlotte, Atticus would smile as well, "Thanks." Every time he meets with Charlotte, Atticus finds himself invigorated and more motivated, perhaps that was all the work of his mother. "Mothers are truly amazing beings." he muttered, as he could sense Shira and Krieg in the distance, something was off, but he chose not to go and intervene. "Charlotte, since Mirai is your daughter, you must have a way to find her. Some sort of spell, or doll that can track her scent, not her soul, or maybe Texas' scent?"
Charlotte smiled at Atticus "Mirai always had a mental connection with me." she said. "Luen..." she said. A orb of light appeared and the familiar doll that looked like an eye appeared and wrapped around her arm. He beeped then before looking at Atticus then back up at her. One of Luen's appendages went to her head and glowed for a moment before jumping and landing on Atticus, wrapping around his wrist "With that, Our souls are connected, barely though since it is a mental connection. Luen can use this as a way to track her." she said "I can create a portal to the Netherworld and Luen should be able to find her territory for you. Her wavelength is very unique making it even easier. Getting in may be an issue though since I am unsure about who she allows in her territory or not." she explained.
Shira while Atticus and Charlotte were talking, a knock on the door would be heard followed by it opening and Shira with Krieg walking in "Sorry we are late." she said with a small smile "Hello, Miss Charlotte."

Krieg follows Shira in and looks around and doesn't intoduce himself to Charloette. He sees Attitcus and doesn't say a word to either of them "What are we doing?"
