"Well, well, well," a voice seemed to come from the air around them, with no particular point of origin "It would seem that Mu'se was indeed telling the truth. We have guests. And...oh my, an old friend among them too. How marvelous."



Kikyo went slightly pale, sweating as she released Jiro's hand and prepared herself for a fight. That voice...she knew that voice well. The airy cheerful quality, the apparently "Innocent" tone... "Maboroshi..." Kikyo slowly sank into a guarded stance, clearly ready for a fight.

Kai was looking a little confused, staring off in a random direction at something that, apparently, they couldn't see. "Say Xen, what's-" but with a merely shimmer of the air around him, Kai seemed to vanish into thin air.

"Now Kai, this is old business that doesn't really concern you, please leave this to me, if you would." the cheerful voice assured once more, Kai seeming to have vanished into thin air...

Kikyo clenched her fists. "Xen...it's been a long time."

"Oh it HAS Kikyo-san," the voice agreed jovially, as though...wherever this person was, they were greeting her pleasantly. "Why, I think the last time was class at the academy together...aw those were the days. You the up and coming Okazaki heir, and I the humble student hanging in the background."

Kikyo scoffed. Xenon Maboroshi had never been a "face in the back ground"... a prodigy with Genjutsu and a force of murder with those needles of his, by the time he was examined to be a genin, he had already attained the skills of someone taking a Chuunin exam...it was as though his will to train was...inhuman. It was well known that in what most people called the "Bell Test" equivalent, his team, Kimiko among them, had sent their own Jounin Sensei to the hospital...

"I'm surprised you recognized me..." Kikyo admitted obviously tense. "Your girlfriend didn't..."

"Didn't she? Your referring to your mask? Hn hn hn, knowing Kimiko, she probably never even knew who you were in the first place. She wasn't the type to remember faces back then who weren't vital to "saving the world" from my nefarious plots. Ah the games of childhood."

Kikyo brought her hands together in a hand sign. "So I guess since you DO recognize me...what now...?"

"Oh? Isn't that obvious?" the faint image of a disturbing leer seemed to appear over them. "I was going to kill you, Kikyo-san..."

Kikyo's eyes seemed to be wide with terror behind her mask, her breath becoming labored. She could do this...they were the same age, they had both been Ninja since they were young...she could beat him...she just...just needed to break his Genjutsu! If he was anything like he had been in the academy, that was all it would take...once his illusion was broken, then she would be able to get at him... she would at least have a chance...

"Release!!" Kikyo's hands were brought together as chakra coursed through her figure, her face set in a battle ready facade....before it melted back into fear. W-what? It didn't work...? Xenon was still nowhere to be seen, the disturbing leer still hovering over her. "B-but..." she muttered under her breath.

"Awww," Xenon's voice sounded back. "Were you trying to break my Illusion with a Genjutsu release...? That's adorable, Kikyo-san."

Suddenly, from the viewpoint of the brothers, Kikyo's body seemed to flinch violently, another illusion all together striking her mind. She began to scream hands suddenly holding her head as though demons had somehow found their way inside it... she managed to put her hands together, forming a release...only for the genjutsu to continue ravaging her mind. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" she fell to her knee's holding her head.


"Hn," Xenon's leer seemed to grow almost mocking, hovering in the air before them still. "Is that all? I would have expected more from a "loyal agent of the Otobe" Kikyo-san...is this all that you do? Bow down like an animal...?" the murderous intent continued to flood the air. "And you two..." Xen's leer, a mirage in the air before them, turned towards the twins. "Tell me, you were holding Kikyo-san's hand hm? Aren't you noble heroes going to rush to her rescue...? I'll tell you what. If you can lay a hand on me, I'll let her go." the leer seemed to grow in size. "I mean the real me, obviously." the leer spun about in the air. "How about, just for fun, we give you a time limit! 5 minutes. You have five minutes to lay a hand on the real me...starting now...tick tock." he sounded cheerful still, despite the horrifying leer hovering before them, and the killer intent filling the air...

The game, it seemed, was on.

The user attempts to break the chakra circulation flow in his body in order to see through a genjutsu. You can also use this technique on someone else.

Stage I: Genjutsu DC 14 Learn the basics of genjutsu. Learn how they work, and how to escape from it.
Stage II: Chakra Control DC 18 Become in tune with your body's chakra system. You may ask a friend who knows genjutsu to perform one on you so you can practice breaking your chakra circulation and the genjutsu.
Special: +your chakra mod + 2 per 10 ranks in Chakra Control to Will Save. The effect of this technique is stackable, that is if many ninja use it on one person all their bonuses are added.

Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique)
A rather sophisticated Genjutsu which changes the appearance of a nearby object or climate.

Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu (Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique)
This is a genjutsu that reveals the fears that dwell inside people's hearts. Everyone has an image of the one thing they wouldn't want to ever see. This genjutsu is a technique that draws forth such an image from within the heart and has one mistake it for reality. First, an imaginary circle of leaves will spin around and envelop the target, falling away shortly after. After a short period, the illusion will begin. This is to make the illusion more convincing, since the user will likely have moved before the illusion sets in. If the mental image is a gruesome one, the shock will be accordingly great.

((Reaction: You fail to break free of the illusion by such a wide margin, that you are aware of just how out matched you are here...this is clearly not FIGHT you could win, if he was actually trying to hurt you...this...young man? Is clearly an A-rank Ninja, if not higher. He is to Kikyo what she is to you. But if all you have to do is touch him...you might be able to pull it off. He doesn't seem interested in harming YOU at least...and they way he's almost...playing with you, does seem a bit off, but you can worry about that later. You realize that even if you can't see him because of the illusion, where Kai was looking before the illusion covered him up as well, must be where this "Xenon" is actually standing! You can attack!))

Xenon, behind his illusion, had his usual slight smile on his face, hands formed in front of him into a casual hand sign. At the very least they didn't run away and abandon the girl at the first sign of danger, always a good sign...but not yet a conclusive one...in order for him to learn what it was that he needed, a further push was required. With a mere flicker of his will, his chakra flashing forth invisibly as it struck Kikyo once more. Quite frankly, he didn't even particularly remember disliking the girl during their days at the academy. He recalled he being rather flirtatious and just a tad haughty, but not much else. It wasn't really until he got the reports from Mikito that she was one of the potential members for Cruxis that the name had stuck out to him, and he'd tried to recall more of what he knew of her. She had been an Okazai, this was true, but as he recalled she had been rather average as a Shinobi...well...average by the standards that he, Kimiko, and Raine set, at any rate. Off hand he would say that she was slightly weaker than Saijo, and stronger than Yuki or Flonne...in fact, bar the advantage of her Ninjutsu, he'd guess that she about the same level of ability as Yoko was. Which meant that disposing of her would be a mere thought away. He would need to drop the False Surroundings illusion, if he was going to start using higher level techniques, but that was fine, it would make things more interesting anyway.

In a strange flicker the illusion that was hiding the boy dropped, and their true surroundings were revealed.

It appeared as though they actually had an audience. There was Kai, of course, who was actually at this point standing back out of the way watching things proceed, and a black haired girl the twins age who was standing next to him, watching things unfold with a rather cold gaze.



"Kick their butt's senpai, zam." she stated in a rather flat, emotionless voice.



"Hey, uh, I know you guy's probably can't hear me but, hang in there." Kai called encouragingly.



Though the oddest figure of all observing the bout seemed to be the baby whom was sitting atop the girl twin's age's head. "Hey chief, you get bored ya can tap me in at any time! I gotta give this human body a work out every now and again eh?" Even looking at him something seemed oddly...bird like, about the way he was sitting atop the girl's head...


Xenon paid their audience no mind however, his seemingly pleasant attitude in full force. "Ah good, you accept then." Xenon confirmed with a cheerful tone. "Then allow me a moment to clear the field hm?" with mere adjustment of the casual handsign in front of him, the jutsu itself already having been established, Xenon fully activated the technique, the Jubaku Satsu....

Kikyo's form suddenly went limp, as though someone had just...shut off her brain. Whatever horror had just been visited upon her mind was shown to her and her alone, but it was clearly too much her. With a final slight gasp for air, the girl collapsed in a heap, unconsciousness claiming her. Xenon, at this, adapted a more careless pose, breaking his hand sign as one hand went into his pocket laxly, and the other adjusted his glasses with a single finger. "Now that that's taken care of," the hand pushing up his glasses adjusted into a single beckoning finger, as though inviting them to attack at anytime. "Whenever your ready to begin." he again smiled pleasantly at them, as though he was actually discussing something as inconsequential as the weather with them. "What's the phrase that Raine would use...? Ah, yes. Bring it on, I believe."



Magen: Jubaku Satsu (Demonic Illusion: Tree Bind Death)
With this jutsu, the user can make themselves disappear so that they can approach their opponent unnoticed. Once near the desired target, a tree will grow at the target's feet and branches from an illusory tree will bind them from behind so that they are unable to even move or use hand seals. Once the opponent believes that they are captured, the user can then reappear from above the tree and attack.

Jiro and Aki both ran towards Xenon, both with a look of determination on their faces. "I'm going to..." Jiro was cut short as he flinched violently, much like Kikyo had. He then dropped to his knees and held his head as he screamed out loudly. Aki turned around and looked at Jiro and back to Xenon, "What the hell did you do?! He yelled at him then continued to run at him with a kunai in his hands. Aki now was even more determined and was going to kill this guy whether it took his life or not. No one messed with his brother, only he could. This was the most angry he had ever been and he had murder in his eyes as he ran towards Xenon.

((Reaction: You notice nothing at all different about your opponent, but now that you can clearly see your audience, you note that Kai, though he seems a nice enough sort, doesn't seem at all concerned or unruffled about the situation, or even tense, for that matter, as though he doesn't consider this a life or death situation. You don't know anything of his motive, but it's possible that this situation is not entirely as it appears...

You also are able to note, somehow, almost through instinct, that the "child" sitting on top of the girl your own age's head, isn't even human. If you had any knowledge of the "Ningen no Keshin" technique, you would recognize it immediately, and it would be a just a few more keen observations from there to tell you that it's actually an extremely intelligent ninja trained bird that has mastered the ability to speak and take human form...))

Jiro was about to speak but Aki was the first to speak before he could, "I do not agree with my brother on everything but, this time I do agree with him. We will not leave a fellow sound shinobi behind so that we may just leave with our lives. If we leave now we might as well kill ourselves. It may be the easiest thing to do but, it is not the right thing to do. So, I will die with her if it is necessary. " Jiro smiled a little, normally his brother barely speaks but, this was just golden to him. For once he didn't fight Jiro's decision that was the best thing of all of it.
