The atmosphere having returned to a relaxed state, the bartender set to polishing the counter; he had returned the large horn to its place in the storage rooms. "Is there anything you'd like to drink, Kitalpha?" It was one of the rare times that he addressed her by a name at all; a treat, perhaps, to the peculiar eye.

A vulture flew into the bar, carrying a scroll with ornate gold ends. It disappeared into the air without a trace, not even the usual vulture smell. "Hmm," the bartender said, reading the scroll -- perplexed. "I rarely am sent messages by spectral vulture. And this being in a code I haven't seen in a while..." He would need a while to figure out exactly what he had just been sent. It was the idea of coded messages, surely, but he hoped there was not some emergency to be dealt with when he returned to the Onyx Castle...

Setting the scroll down on a hidden shelf, the bartender returned to cleaning the counter, working the code over in his head.
"If it's my home tongue, I most likely won't know it." The elf said with a shrug, meaning the code. "How about some water?"

The bartender browsed through it again, and blinked. "Oh, it's my tertiary diagonal hexagon code. I haven't received a message in this in quite some time. Since only one person is left alive besides me who knows it..." He passed a glass of cool water to Kitalpha and rubbed his temples. "...then I think the one who's visiting is my Draconian cousin Heph'netael." He went under the counter and began pouring bloodwine into a goblet. "Heph'netael used to be around a lot more than she is now. I believe her House had decayed in the last millenium. She must be rather bored."

He offered a second glass to Kitalpha and downed a third for himself. "My apologies if she talks a lot. The House Netael is notorious for being long-winded and chatty." He put his hands on his temples and tried to get rid of an unexpected headache.

((Now that I've named it, I'll have to make a hexagonal tertiary code. I wonder how it'll work?))

The elf shrugged. "Tuning out those who yammer is not hard." She said, taking the glass and downing it.

((You don't have to, y'know))

The bartender closed his eyes and opened them again.
A few weeks had passed in that brief span of time,
and he had felt the pull of the other dimension on
his mind in that lengthy blink. It was time to leave
with the prospect of returning in a significant time.

"Shall we meet in the other world,
my favoured guest?"
he asked,
closing the bar's door and opening the portal to the
place he had been. The notes of a choir, a thousand
members strong, filled the room and enveloped his
thoughts, bringing him into the dreaming state of
temporary rest. He had not traveled between the
universes in this manner in centuries.

With a wink in time the bar was gone to the eyes of
anyone who might have seen it, or who would have
in the future. It was now merely a transit station in
between worlds. The bartender shed his assumed
appearance and was finally back to the comfortable
shape that he had held for such a long time.

Asakuun allowed the world to fade to swirling colors,
black, grey, yellow and red, as she passed through
the portal's glassy surface, to the world that was

"Righto." The elf responded.
