Well. She'd wanted obedience. And she got obedience.

Barely containing her own yelp as Rep suddenly took off, Petra's eyes widened slightly as she was half-dragged after the burly young man, regret for her lack of foresight practically radiating from her expression. She had no time to look around; the sun hunter was like a battering ram, charging like a ******** rhino, so much so that she had no doubt in her mind that if a tree got in his way, that tree was going down. What she was more concerned about was the traps that Killzone had warned them about, or the possibility of tripping into a sudden body of water. The Death trainee had no idea how well her partner could swim, but considering the fact that they only had use of one hand each, she thought it was likely it would not go very well for them.

"Rep. Stop."

There was actual panic in her voice. Although her tone was nigh above a gasp and panted breath, having to race to keep up, for the first time there was very real worry in her tone. Her arm had started to throb, both in the socket of her arm and her elbow, white hot suns of pain like shattered glass beginning to spread through her appendage. She had long since dropped the poor snake, very likely at they very beginning where he'd tore off like a greyhound at the starting line.

Not for the first time, Petra wished it was Robert she was holding hands with. If it had been Robert, he would have been carrying her on his back, and they would have been right behind Killzone the entire way, and this wouldn't have been such a stressful situation.

He couldn't stop running. If he did he'd be bitten and die. Hell, even if he let Petra catch up too close he'd be in deep trouble - he'd heard on nature programs that some snakes could spit venom right at you. She was possibly unwittingly wielding some sort of ******** reptilian supersoaker at his back. It was nightmare fuel.

Half mad as he was with his very unfamiliar and primal sort of terror, Rep was tearing up both the jungle and himself as he scrabbled his way through it. Additionally, with the cuff weakening his shield, Tracey couldn't afford to deal with the smaller non life threatening cuts and abrasions right away. However, this fact didn't mean he had to like it in the least.

Seriously, you are getting awfully scratched up!> The fallen angel's voice was shrill and panicked. He wasn't used to Rep being this out of control for anything other than furious tantrums. It left him at a loss of how to defuse it.

Petra's plea seemed at least to fall on deaf ears, and he might have kept flat out running until he ran out of energy. Might have, had it not been for a particularly mischievous tree root raised just hight enough that it nicked the edge of his shoe - and sent him crashing to the jungle floor with a grunt of surprise as every bit of air was smacked out of his lungs.

It was a fortunate fall however, because even as he yanked them both, they narrowly avoided what had to be the dull rain of thumps of an arrow trap.

He rolled onto his back, breathless, simultaneously out of breath from running and finding it hard to breathe after the air being knocked out of him. The result was a very dazed place where blue flashing patterns danced before his eyes and he skipped along the knife edge of conciousness. Even that close to the edge there was only one thing he could think about.

"I.....iss....is..did..you...Is it away?"

Jason's face seemed to pale as he looked down the hole himself and saw the jaggered spikes that would of surely meant the sun hunter's doom had he not pulled him up. It also meant there was something else in this jungle that could kill them. Why did everything want to kill him?

"You're...welcome.." He said, and they were off running again, except this time they weren't as in sync. Jason felt himself struggling to keep up, tripping over things and generally feeling he was holding the more experienced Jerry back. It was not a good feeling.

As he brushed a fern out of his way, Jason felt something fall on his head, and brushed his hair to see what it was.

The resulting scream could be heard for miles.

"SPIIIIIDERRR!" Came his frantic hallow as he jumped around trying to shake the arachnid off his arm. "GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF"

Petra felt a cold, sinking feeling wrench her gut up into her throat as they continued to charge through the underbrush, accompanied by the slightest hint of nausea. He wasn't going to stop. Her command (if you could really call it that, anymore; she did only for the purpose of maintaining her pride,) had been completely ignored, the ruddy-haired hunter far too lost in his own terror to hear or care to listen or both, completely oblivious to everything around them. And as they crashed like a two-person train-wreck through the jungle, it was quickly dawning on her that she had made a really ******** bad decision. As the seconds passed, the distance between herself and her partner became more and more distinct; Runic bracelets could keep them holding hands, but it couldn't completely trump physics. Rep was a lot larger than she was. Although she was by no means short for a woman, his strides were undoubtedly longer than hers were, forcing her to move even faster to keep up. Which was proving to be more and more difficult.

But it was less the speed than the lack of accuracy for which she was concerned. Running after him was not the problem. It was the sickening realization that, if she tripped and fell, that didn't necessarily ensure the stop in his momentum.

Petra was almost to the point of speaking up again when quite the reverse happened. She saw far too late as as his entire body lurched forward, unable to catch herself as she too came crashing down onto her stomach as a result. Burying her face in the nook of her elbow, the death trainee echoed the grunt as she skidded a few feet in the dirt just behind him, only very narrowly avoiding toppling directly on top of him (there but for the grace of god/merciful writers.) For a second she just laid there, panting hard, every inch of her body prickling unpleasantly as she stared over her arm at the arrows embedded deep into the wood, realizing how close they'd come to if not death (which was apparently likely, in Rep's case,) than crippling bodily injury.

Sorry Harrison, she almost killed your lover. What you failed to realize was that while Petra might have been in moon at one point, she was a terrible moon hunter. That's why they transferred her to death.

And after all that, he was still clamoring about the snake. Only now, she was adequately unsettled enough to indulge him.

"Yes Rep... it is away."

It was almost nice for a few moments, in that hazy place between the real world and unconsciousness, numb to the various injuries he'd sustained. Unfortunately it couldn't last and the warm fuzzy feeling gave way to the clamouring of aching muscles as he groaned. "******** hell." At the very least there was no more snake, which as far as he was concerned was the single most important thing in his immediate world.

"Don't ******** do that again you dumb b***h." he said weakly, sitting up in a movement that made his back sing with pain - it didn't bother him as much as it might have. On some level, he enjoyed pain, it was an extension of his constant physical awareness. Still, the fall had been a fairly nasty one, and apparently even his shield had come into play to stop him breaking anything major.

His words were still ragged as he finally started to get his breath back "I told you I ******** hate snakes. I wasn't bullshitting."

He wasn't feeling very zen he had to admit, wiping blood from a few scrapes on his arms as he moved to uncertainly stand, actually helping Petra to her feet if she didn't stand first in a gesture oddly contrary to his tone. "Especially ones in the ******** jungle." He could remember the terror and claustrophobia in the horseman lair, as the water rose, as he could do nothing to help the two doomed hunters they left behind. The memory was like a splash of cold water. He'd had too many scarring missions in this clammy green hell.

With a yelp of his own, Jerry quick grabbed a stick, thwacking at the spider on Jason's arm until it went flying. This was followed by several swipes in the air just to be sure.

"W-we're okay! We're okay! Just keep going! Ahaha..." the Sun Hunter panted, smiling weakly as he gripped Jason's hand and pulled him along. "We just have to keep our heads! Alright, repeat after me... 'Aweembawumpa-weembawumpa-weebawumpa- c'mon-"

If there was one thing Ami hated more than touchy-feelings, it was anything that slithered, crawled or oozed. Snakes? Snakes fell into that category.

So up Rin she went, no questions asked. She even tried to be gentle as she climbed, knowing that the poor girl was being stepped on and used. She muttered a few sorry's, but honestly? Her focus was getting OUT of this pit. There wasn't a way in hell you could convince her to stay down there.

However, when she neared the top, she did give a hearty, "You better not be looking up my skirt."

Love and sunshine for the Ami-Rin team.

For once, when Rep cursed, Petra agreed with him. Wholeheartedly, in fact.

Letting her head fall back into the crook of her elbow, the death transfer contented herself to lay there in the wet, decaying leaves of the forest floor, for the moment just letting the burn in her muscles ebb slowly. The hot, damp smell of turned earth and exotic spices could have been a sweet, enjoyable smell, had the circumstances been different; now they just invoked images of poison-tipped arrows and the sensation of fear and sweat trickling along her brow. It was strange. She had been a hunter for a long time now, long enough that the black dye had almost completely grown out white again. She had been on countless missions, so many of them suicidal, so many of them deteriorating into a chaotic battle against hideous monsters. But she was afraid less of those creatures than she was of those forest right now. At least in battle, she had at least an ounce of control over the situation. She had Cain. She knew her enemy. Here she felt helpless, surrounded by potential danger she couldn't see, certainly couldn't ******** feel; as Rep had proved, she couldn't even physically dictate where she went, if push came to shove.

Taking a slow breath, Petra finally looked up as the redhead began to push himself to his feet, forcing her to sit up. She did so with little reluctance, almost resigned to the fact, the death trainee stretching the arm connected to his up to allow him to stand up straight. With her other hand, she ran her fingers through her hair, not even bothering to pick the leaves and dirt from it, merely brushing the damp locks off her forehead and allowing some air to cool her scalp. Midnight blue eyes flicked up to focus on Rep as he continued to talk to her, less angry than she'd actually assumed he'd be as he verified his fear of snakes, and she gave him a mildly apologetic stare, abashed despite the lack of a strong verbal rebuke. In fact, she was a little shocked when she felt the muscles of his arm tense, pulling to help her off her a**, and she struggled momentarily to stand, wincing a bit as she found her footing.

The only warning they got was a sudden loud crack, and the ground beneath Petra's left foot collapsed.

Once again, she found herself on the ground, although this time it was followed by the snapping and scraping of wood as the fake canopy floor collapsed beneath her, a deep pit of murky water revealed below. Scrambling with her free hand as her upper body slammed into the edge of the pit, she cried out in surprise, the sound turning into a series of petrified pants as she continued to slide deeper, the wet leaves providing little purchase. Within moments, she had fallen nearly completely down into the hole, free hand still scrambling to grasp the edge of the pit, feet scraping the muddy side frantically.

Rin did anyway, purely because she was told not to; oh, that was surprising, it wasn't granny panties. Rin smiled a little to herself. At least it made up for all the toe holes that were bruised into her for the trek up there.

"Okay now - pull me up!" as if Ami had a choice if she wanted to get away. They were pretty attached at the hand still, which made the whole ordeal that much more ridiculous.

Ami was JUST about to break over the top of the pit when she noticed Rin looking up her skirt with this weird expression on her face. Well, maybe it wasn't that weird, but Ami certainly thought ANYONE looking up another person's skirt had a weird face.

As she broached the top and leaned over the pit, arm dangling just so because their hands were cuffed, Ami said, "I told you not to." She shrugged, clearly stating with her body language that she could do this all day.

"No way in hell."

Through trial, tribulation, teamwork, and the ******** power of positivity harnessed through their Power Suits (except Petra,) the hunters and trainees finally came to a small clearing in the jungle. Killzone already had a tent set up and greeted the bedraggled partners with a big smile and thumb's up. "YEAAAH! I knew no jungle would take you ******** down that easily. Clarice is probably gonna be pissed nobody was hospitalized, but we can just blame some Insanity s**t for it, because b***h is kinda twisted and I don't want her mad at me when she comes back."

An almost pensive look crossed the man's face, but quickly faded as if never there. He gestured to a small pile of long canvas bags on the ground, four in total. "These here are your tents, now you'll need to work together getting this s**t up, but it should be a cake walk for you ********, right? I'll get us a good fire going, and by the time the light starts to go, we'll be roasting wienies and eating s'mores in some fine-a** comfort."

There were only four tents.

The man made no move or mention concerning the unbinding of their hands.

It was going to be a long night.

Finish up your running rolls and get to camp. For setting up the tents together it's the same mechanics as before! However, you only need to roll once this time (you can post as much as you like though. Once again, the larger the gap, the greater the failure to work together.

When the spider was removed from him, Jason managed to calm down enough to hear Jerry's reassuring words, although he still didn't feel alright. Though he took a moment to look at the sun hunter when he was requested to repeat a series of strange words. Was it some kind of spell? A foreign language?

...Oh! No, it was a song, He remembered. He wasn't to sure about singing at this point in time, but even so, he stuttered out the words. "Aweeeemmmbawumpa-weeeembawumpa-weebawumpa"

He soon stopped when they had reached the clearing, and saw that, sadly, it didn't appear they would be detached any time soon. Not that he didn't have a good partner, but he did like the use of both hands. And his own personal space to sit down and mope.

With a sigh, he picked up one of the tents with one hand and thought about how they could do this. "Umm...Perhaps if we set up the base first, then we can work on the poles..."

"Yes. Me and Jerry."

The rest of the way to camp was filled with little to no dialogue as Harrison kept them safe from all of the traps and Sasha was busy doing her best 'I am not a raving bunt all the time' impersonation.

By the time they caught up to Killzone, Sasha's mood had soured impressively, and when she took inventory of the tent situation she clenched her teeth so hard that they nearly exploded into dust.

"Great."

No, not really.

"Hey, aren't you gonna...?" Harrison held up their wrists, pointing.

He had to be ******** kidding.

Harrison looked appalled.

His enthusiasm to get the tent set up was minimal, but it didn't mean he was going to sit this one out. He fought Sasha for every inch, temper building as he tried to arrange the poles before shoving the tent fabric through them. He sat down, stood up, and wrestled the damn thing half to hell without making an inch of progress, resulting in a tangled pile of materials.

The swearing increased in both volume and tempo.
