(SORRY i had this Reply on my mind and COULD NOT SLEEP until i posted this. Pretend this post happened before Zoos latest update ok? @-@ NIGHT GUYS SORRY) He had sworn both in his native tongue, and in a current language, in the same few breaths of each other. Deep down in the basin of her shallow heart, that soothed the anger that was spilling out through her being. Taking it down a notch or two, she stared down at Cain and how he had clasped her hand ever so tightly. She did have a small respect for the demon, and DID enjoy a friendly banter with him at times. "You know Cain, i DO like you." She jerked her hand free out of his grasp, other hand instantly clasping it and rubbing at it like it hurt. "But sometimes you need a damn good kick to the balls." Leaning in closer for a second, it looked ALMOST as if she was reaching in to grab another spike... but instead she used his own shirt to wipe some of the blood, his and her own, off on. As if to drive the point home, she lowered again and 'pecked' him on his forehead, before she turned heal and skipped away back to the larger issue they currently had as if nothing had happened.

Safe from a blast or not, the atmosphere was oppressing. Matt was not one to look for conflict, nor did he care to fight through anything. Personally, he thought this reaper could pass for an inucbus the way he tempted them all with power. It didn't take much for the normally passive Sloth to think outside the box this time around.
Another way. Another path. Was there more to living than what he'd planned?
Silently, Matthew withdrew from the Cave, and headed to the Weeping Forest. If nothing else, it would prove... interesting.

And the battle had been as much of a disaster as he'd predicted. They couldn't win against that kind of power and he wasn't about to try.
He wasn't about to lie though that the promise of power was a draw. The treasure itself had been fantastic, a boon beyond his imagining. Power in addition would be almost too good to be true. Almost. Incubi were low ranked creatures, destined to be little more than glorified consorts to the more powerful.
What if he could be a leader instead, the Incubus who broke the mould.
He made his decision, he would take one bit of the treasure back, bluff, say he had nothing else, use the time to hide what he did have somewhere till the heat was off.
Yes, that'd be right.
He left as discreetly as he could.

It was a lie. It had to be a lie.
Jinhai stood in the wreckage of the cave, his hair falling messily about his shoulders, feeling bruised, achey, and pained as he silently brushed aside a few black strands from his forehead. The braids were still intact, but only just barely so - the rest of his hair was unruly and unbecoming - a rarity in Jinhai's world, full of neatness and tidy schedules and carefully constructed routines.
Kato. The stranger had talked about Kato, which meant that he knew who Kato was, knew that something had happened to him.
Without another word, Jinhai turned and left the cavern.

Tarot didn’t fight. If anything, she defended. When she watched her fellow classmates collapse to the ground like rag dolls, she immediately began to weave her way through the tiny crowd. It didn’t matter what faction they were in, they needed in—The reaper began to speak and she halted in her tracks, waiting to hear his bit. His words were odd. She confusedly narrowed her eyes at the hooded figure. He was trying to do something, but what exactly that was she didn’t know. The reaper’s proposition sounded reasonable to her. Wasn’t that what she had hoped for—for the students to return the stolen items and to never enter the cave again?
She checked her phone. There was a text from Professor Quibble. Tarot smiled softly. Surely the professor would have some answers to her questions. She briefly tugged at Arcana’s hand. “Hurry, let’s go.” Tarot released her grasp and left.

The pressure, the sheer power of the reaper could be felt even outside of the battle. Murdoch had frozen under it, and even after it subsided the man held his rapt attention. What are you guys planning to do?The zombie shook his head to clear and then gave the other a small, tight smile, "We're supposed to be getting job offers and such right now right? Talking to recruiters? Well..." anticipation lit his eyes, "...I'm gonna go see what he's offering. Maybe its all an elaborate scam, but I want to find out." exit

Cricket had just sat back to watch in her typical style, looking at the strange reaper with her eyes slightly narrowed. What had he just done to everybody there?
Never the less, she knew what she had to do - Amityville was her home, and this stranger was in it claiming one thing and doing another. She wouldn't have it. She still had her energy, and it seemed like the only thing that had been hurt was pride.
Go figure.
Never the less, she knew exactly where she was going.

The fight had come to an end, for now. Vel let out a heavy breath while eyeing the strange reaper cautiously. What was he going on about? She fought for Amity. She fought for Halloween. She knew exactly what she was fighting for, and it was by her own choice. It was why she strove to become a boogey; so she could continue fighting like this. If she didn't want that, she would be doing something else completely.
Like putting up 'SAVE THE MINIS' posters. Or whatever. Or playing with glitterbombs.
Yeah. No. That wasn't for her. The raptor crossed her arms and tapped her big claw on the ground impatiently while the reaper spoke to them, offering power or something like that. She wasn't interested. This guy was an intruder and a threat as far as she was aware.
"I ain't going nowhere," she huffed before storming her way towards the cave, only stopping to try and help erect d**k back to his feet.

The attacking students were on the ground, but he wasn’t fazed by the sight. Dabir merely watched on, his arms crossed as he eyed the hooded figure with a somewhat interested gaze. But what the reaper said was interesting. Power. It wasn’t exactly what he was looking for, but the idea was entertaining enough. However, he scowled at the mentioning of returning his loot. Well, the reaper hadn’t gone and counted all of the treasures he had lost, right? Maybe he could return some and leave the rest in his dorm. Maybe...?

d**k had finally gotten his limbs to pull from his body, making a pained face as he massaged the muscles that had been fighting against him.
"Well..that was a neat trick." he groused as Vel came over, "I'm gonna have to learn to do that one." he clearly was not happy with the new development at all, even as he half leaned against Vel to right himself again, flexing his fingers with a cracking and painful sounding slowness to get them moving again.
"That ******** sucked." d**k noted, looking to Vel. "I think I'm going to owe that ******** some payback."

"What happened?" Vel asked while looking him over. It was like he had been paralyzed or something, but that was an awfully long lasting headlights style attack if that were the case. It didn't seem right.
"You'll get your chance Dicky. Now, can you stand on your own or do you need help staying up?"

Rowly was getting kind of.. mushy. There was something about it that scared her, and thrilled her at the same time. Bella gave him a hesitant look, and then pushed herself up to a seated position - sitting on his stomach and watching the continuing antics of her fellow colleagues. Until they were flat on her backs. Bella cringed at the sight, instantly regretting sitting up as the pressure fell upon her in waves and pushed her back down. She glared at the idiot with the glowy weapon up front, and listened to what he had to say - then, when he was gone, she listened to what the others were saying. Specifically, Murdoch's take on the issue, from what she could hear from her vantage point on the floor. And she couldn't have agreed more. "All right, if you can't beat 'em," She grumbled, getting back up and helping Rowly to his feet. "Let's find out if it's worth joining 'em. Up you go, champ. We've got some walking to do." She let Rowly put most of his weight on her, and helped him out of the cave as quickly as possible. ((exit))

The air grew heavy. Uncomfortably heavy. Suffocating even the usually bubbly Mirror Ghost. Sophie knew what she wanted to do with her life; she wanted to go work for Bloody Mary, she wanted to raise a family with some respectable demon and have many many scarelings. She wanted to fight the good fight for Human protection and all around equality; she wanted to do what she could and enjoy the time she had. She knew that. But...what was she fighting for? Power? No, she didn't want power; she wanted a clean living with a family. But her classmates...a lot of them wanted power, even she knew that. How many people would leap at this offer, this promise, of something great? Too many, she thought. Much too many. "Vanth...we...we need to go, now." The ghoul insisted after checking her phone, pulling on the other ghoul's arm. They had to go and talk to Quibble, now. Quibble knew everything, he could...he could help. Maybe give some ideas to help turn her classmates away from something that just screamed wrong. Whether the other ghoul followed was entirely up to her. (( Exit! ))

Arel poked his head out from a rather large pile of debris, having been knocked unconscious from the start of the battle by falling objects. Needless to say, he missed out on a portion of the battle, just enough to catch the tail-end of the Reaper's conversation.
It was easy to say that none of the Defenders liked where this was going.
The Ice Demon was like many of the other students: sheltered, naive even. Even as most students had their own beginnings, their own tales to weave, they were still in the end, limited to the scope of only what they had learned, seen, and experienced.
Which was, in reality, very little.
He doubted. He doubted his actions as a Defender, but beyond that, he doubted the Reaper's actions. It reminded him too much of someone from his own story, it reminded him too much of his past, of the one who had taken his will and-
- "Freedom is always in the eye of the beholder. I summoned you, but I gave you a choice. However, a bad choice is the same as not having a choice at all, do you understand what I'm talking about, -"
- One stray hand reached to touch the thick woolen cloak around his shoulders as he unconsciously recoiled. It was just a story, like so many other stories. A Reaper who had also promised, and in the end left him so few things, a few belongings and a name.
History repeated itself, sometimes, but the consequences were always different, carefully guarded and reigned in by time. This time, the story would go differently.
"I'll stay." Arel stood next to Red, offering her a hand. "I'll stay where I need to stay and I just don't trust liars."

"It was like my ********' body rebelled against me or something." he growled. "Try to move and it'd do the opposite of what I wanted...felt like he broke me and I was leakin' energy all over.." Still, even with his anger fueling him he was going to have some questionable energy levels.
Part of him wished there was time for a power nap.
"I can walk on my own, as nice as it'd be for you to help me stay up." he answered as he shifted his weight to his own two feet.
