Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

"Lets keep moving, we don't need to be making many acquaintances or we'll miss our family's departure Sis." Gallion spoke as if to Menna alone, yet ensured his annunciation was loud enough to carry over to the sailor. Though it was true that they needed to avoid many people who were in such a place so close to Garnoff, it was also true that they needed to avoid appearing as if they were avoiding such a thing. By acting suspiciously even in a place where suspicious behavior was common, one could draw unwanted eyes in their direction. Had the Grand Port not been filled with men and women wearing various head wear due to the currently stormy climate, Gallion would have insisted that they removed their hoods regardless of how it may display their features.

"Common sis, pop's waiting." The Elite Silver Knight spoke using a light version of an accent common to the far reaches. The rain continued to batter the decks as many crews attempted to pull in their vessels to further brace them for the coming waves. One might even witness the shifting in vertical height between many structures along the floating portion of the city as the rushing water rippled beneath them.

She wasn't sure exactly how to feign an accent as foreigners weren't welcome in Dokoro. She made a note to listen to how Gallion spoke. Until she was sure she had a decent grasp of the "language" she would have to play the meeker, younger sister. So she took a step closer to Gallion, keeping her head bowed. It wasn't a completely foreign idea to be the one following, but she hadn't been around her father enough for it to become a commonplace feeling.

Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

As the rains beat down upon the thick clothes of the elite knight, Hearterra couldn't help but feel that their journey would need to cease for the time being. The weather sent down it’s furry upon the citizens of the massive trade lands, and it would take a day on it’s own to simply traverse from one side of the city to another. Even from a mountain top you could not witness both sides of the vast docks. With such horrid weather as well, it appeared that they would be unable to pass without receiving great fatigue to halt them further down the road. Should they meet this fatigue during a time of conflict then events could take place which were less suiting for their preference.

“My lady I believe we should take rest this night.”Gallion spoke, his voice low as it carried only to her beneath the downpour. “Here should do fine.” The knight implied, pointing to a sign that one could barely read beneath the waterfall of rain. The Creaking Tavern… An establishment that held a standard for it’s customers much higher than that of the others. The inn stayed true to it’s name, for one could smell the scents of fine foreign ale even as they simply walked up closer to the door. From beyond the entrance one could listen for the subtle creaking of the exotic structure, and as the elite soon realized this was in fact caused by the presence of a boat settled in beneath the place. This grimy poor excuse for a ship was placed regardless of it’s mossy scent in order to ensure the survival of it’s occupants even should they drift out to sea…something the cautious knight thought suiting for the day’s events. The vessel bellow also seemed to rub violently against the docks that it had been attached to, creating the very noise that had given it it’s name.

As Gallion approached the establishment, hoping that the queen would not be so far behind, a guardsmen stationed just outside beneath the downpour held out his hand to halt them.

“What is your Grounds?” He asked, utilizing a common term for social status or wealth. With a blank look upon his face, half covered by the thick cowl upon his head, Gallion answered the question as he removed a crest emblem from somewhere within his pouch.

“Trisserions” The single word carried weight like no other in the lands here, for it was the name of the third most wealthy royal family among all of the Gallows sea. Though the family seldom ventured this far, it was not unheard of, and the emblem that the knight presented was no other than their own.

“Right this way sir.” The guard let them pass into the sweet scented inn, though a noticeable quiver had appeared upon his lower lip.

She wasn't far behind him, keeping her head tilted down to keep the worst of the rain out of her face. Still, she was soaking when she finally came to the inn. When asked the reason for being there, Gallion smoothly replied. She noted the family name he gave. It sounded vaguely familiar. Perhaps mentioned in one of her many etiquette classes.

She gave the guard a small smile and followed Gallion inside. News traveled fast, for when the pair emerged into the interior of the inn, almost every occupant nearby glanced toward them. What would they do if they knew they were confronted with royalty? Menna thought. Many averted their eyes when they saw her looking. The owner, a man dressed finely for the area, approached Gallion. In the back of her head, Menna prepared her own story should she be asked.

Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

“Excuse me sir,” The well dressed man approached the duo. “Though I certainly trust my door man in his discretion, might I ask of your grounds?” Gallion displayed an annoyed look to this question, appearing as if it were his intention to simply hang the man for his words. Of course this was merely an act in order to procure a manner of rest from these men of wealth.

“If you must…” Hearterra replied, drawing the emblem from within his cloak in order to draw a gasp from the owner of the establishment. “Ah, you do know this emblem…very well…I would assume that you know that I would like a quality room promptly then?” He asked, a superior tone dipping into his voice as the well dressed fellow nodded violently. Rushing off into a distant room, there was soon a grand clatter of items which displayed the apparent haste of the little fellow, his clothing appearing ruffled as he emerged once more from within the confines of the rear room.

“H-here you are ma lord, and ma lady.” He stuttered, the words appearing from his mouth as jagged as a Silverback tooth. “We are at your service.”

As the man swayed his arm in a wide arch to guide their eyes towards the stairs leading to the upper rooms, Gallion looked down towards Menna with a confident smile.

“Shall we rest then?” He asked optimistically.

Even Lucheston and Oban seemed to demand respect in their own way. Perhaps it was foolishness to assume that it was a trait reserved for royalty but she was still amazed that the Knight could act so noble and yet still defer to her as queen.

Fortunately, the servants of the inn deferred to Gallion. She was used to keeping silence. It was the best way to appear aloof and noble, or else that's what her father said. She was beginning to believe everything he said was a lie to keep her in her place. She kept an even glance, the surest way to appear confident. She looked up at Gallion with a smile.
"Please." She said in a polite tone. She hoped that one word was not enough for them to guess there was something strange about the way she spoke.

Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

The rain fell heavily onto the port, waters approaching above the floating docks with an eerie intent about them. Though the city was built to withstand the typhoons that the Gallows Sea so loved to produce, the knight always seemed far too alert to allow such minor details to go unnoticed. As the thick layers of rain spattered against the opening that lead to the balcony, Gallion turned to face Menna within the acquired room.

"I'll keep watch this night my lady, and perhaps send word to my wife. You just get your rest for now." Gallion assured her of her safety, and in truth hoped to send a wisp dove, a dengen technique commonly used for relaying private messages, to his beloved Senya Hearterra. He worried that his current quest may take some time to complete, to serve his lord Oban the Titan of Garnoff, and his King Lucheston he would need to accompany the young queen throughout her training to ensure her safety. His only regret in this matter was that he could not say farewell to Senya. "We shall make way towards the fountain as the storm passes, else we would not make it over the norther ridge."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Menna looked around the room. It was serviceable enough. Despite her time in the less-lavish Garanoff, it was still strange to be in such an environment. She nodded her head absent-mindedly, lost her thought. But then she heard Gallion mention a wife. She turned to look at him sharply. "You're married?" The question slipped out before she could think about her question. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry." She muttered quietly. "And I'm sorry you're separated." She felt a strange sort of kinship with the man. She may not have been married long, and there was the matter of it being arranged, but she did love Oban. And she shuddered to think of what he was currently going through.

Menna untied her cloak and draped it over a chair, dropping her pack beside it. She had very little in the way of clothing, and she didn't feel comfortable changing dress near Gallion regardless of how noble he was. She sat on the edge of the running her hand through her hair. As her hand came back down, she looked at her hand a long moment. It wasn't hers, but Nanette's. She hadn't been in her own body since Oban had been taken. It was the longest she'd gone as someone else and it was beginning to drain on her. She hoped the rest would be enough to keep her from changing back. She slipped under the covers, closing her eyes and trying very hard not to think.

Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

"Menna wake up!" Gallion cried, taking hold of the young queen to be's shoulders and shaking her violently. "We have to move now!" His noble voice roared.

Rushing from the bed of the one he intended to protect, the Silver Knight took hold of what little provisions they'd brought along, throwing them over his shoulder only to rush back to her side.

"It's sinking, we have to leave or we'll be left adrift in the Gallows." Hearterra relayed the message, running over to the door which appeared to tilt alongside the rest of the room as the building lurched to one side. Rain poured in from every opening, especially from the opening which led to the balcony, but it seemed that a flood of water was rushing down the hallway as the contents of other rooms were carried by. Standing in the opening Gallion attempted to catch something caught in the rushing waters, but unfortunately he missed his mark, the maid carried past with a horrid shriek. "We need to go!"

((If you can give me credit for anything...it must be that I can keep things interesting.))

She took in the situation quickly, throwing the now soggy covers back and standing up. She managed to grab her cloak, although it didn't offer much protection against the torrent rushing in. She stumbled forward, watching in horror as a maid swept through the room, screaming. She walked to the doorway, clutching on the frame to keep herself from following the poor woman. But her grip was slipping quickly. Hold on, hold on, hold on. She chanted to herself fervently. She dug her nails into the wood, but Nanette's well trimmed nails couldn't hold on.

Had the terror not so permeated her mind, Menna would have noticed a strange tingling feeling in her hands. Later on she would recall that it felt incredibly similar to the first time she ever took on the appearance of another. Her fingers elongated, the nails sharpening. But it wasn't the nails alone, but the fingers underneath it. The water rushing over them made the entire image blurry enough that it looked like claws were extending from her wrists. Her eyes widened. But then she forced herself to move forward. The feeling in her hands faded, and when she brought one to her face to check, it was a hand again. She shook her head and continued, moving directly in Gallion's wake.

Gallion
Legend of Garnoff

"That was a bit too close there, come on, we have to keep moving." Gallion sighed with short relief. Soon however, as the water flowed through the floors of the tilting structure like rivers down a mountain, the Silver Knight returned his focus to the situation at hand. Taking hold of Menna's arm, he took long strides, leaping from one thin door frame to the next with his hand firmly latched onto the queens. "Hold on!"

Striking outwards with his arm, a flare of sun wisps rushed forth from the limb, concentrations of light so dense that the heat alone could cut through nearly anything. Even as wet as the planks holding the falling structure together were, they were cleaved away by the blast, forcing an opening into the wall once nearest to the shaky docks. He could only hope that the queen would follow his lead, for there was no time to explain that they would need both hands in front of them as they dove, else risk hitting against rubble fatally in these dark waters. Taking one last stride and letting go of the young lady's hand, Gallion dove forth into the darkness.

She was afraid her hands would transform again, but they stayed the simple, soft, lady-in-waiting appendages. She watched in amazement as Gallion performed his own dengen. She knew he was a legend, but she'd only ever heard of his deeds. To see his abilities up close was something else to behold. She watched as he dove in. She hesitated a moment, but dove in. Almost immediately she felt herself sinking. Even her simple attire was enough to add on a lot of weight. She kicked her legs furiously, taking a bit gasping breath as her head broke the surface. She swam after Gallion, but Nanette's body was even less equipped for physical exertion than Menna's own and it wasn't long before her muscles were aching. Still, she forced herself to go on, despite how she was gasping for air.

Upon a boat, a cloaked figure was aboard, the waters forced the ship to sway like so, but this brought a calm smile upon the woof elfs lips. While on this little vassal, many men were around, it almost shamed him to even be aboard. Iolus would rather be in the company of a woman with long hair, longer than his of course, with fair skin and wild eyes. But this, a ship with men? Questions were to be raised. Sure bonding, friendship whatever, he would rather be bonding with a fine lass then these ugly brutes.

From a far but not so off distance, Iolus long pointed ears flicked to the sound of water splashing, like when a rock hits the waters and causes ripples. Slowly, the man walked to the rim on the boat, looking out, with his eyes, he saw a woman struggling to swim. This raised a curious brow. He then took off his cloak and tossed it to one of the crew mates. "Ah, the sea be a cruel and jealous lass.." The wood elf said to himself with a smirk. Today might just be his lucky day to stumble upon such a fine woman.

User Image

"I'm on my way!" he shouted in the direction of the struggling woman, he then dived into the depths of the water, with ease, he was able to swim swiftly through the cold and towards the struggling woman. Coming up from under, he grasped her gently as though he was carrying her out of a wedding. He enjoyed the texture of a woman's skin, but this was no time to sway her interest, more or less it was important to get her some air. He then hurried back to the boat, where his men helped the both of them back onto the boat.

It was in the safety of others, that Iolus took back his cloak, knelt down to the soaking wet woman, and placed the material around her shoulders, doing his best to keep her warm. His eyes landed on how the water clung to her skin, but decided instead of action best to get acquainted. He looked back up to her luscious face and smiled. "Mind telling me why a fine lass like ye self be aboat in the waters like that?" He asked in his thick Irish accent.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Menna heard a voice over the roar of the waves, but she thought it was Gallion calling back to her. "I'm trying." She gasped. Suddenly, there were two arms encircling her. She gasped in surprise. It was the surprise, and the knowledge that she was not physically equipped, that kept her from struggling as the man carried her back to the port. Gallion was much better at playing to strangers than she was, but she could hardly wait for Gallion to come.

"I....I wasn't on a boat." She managed only a slight far-reach accent. There would have to be an excuse made up for that later. "I was in an inn...that was a boat." She scanned the water for Gallion. The man hadn't been keen on following him and Gallion didn't know he wasn't being followed. Which meant Gallion wouldn't know where she was. Things were just getting worse and worse. "Uh...excuse me, I need to find my brother." She stood up, feeling heavy with her soaked clothes. She took off her cloak. It wasn't keeping her warm anyway. She was very aware of how close her clothes were clinging to her body, but she hoped the man in front of her didn't.

"a boat?.." He questioned looking up to his crew mates with a confused and concerned look. He said about but with his tone of voice it would appear to be "a boat." This he sort of smiled, it was cute with the common mistake with his accent, he cant blame anyone but himself. He then heard her explain her situation when she owed him none, he was just happy to get her out of the cruel waters. But it would seem that he may have made things worst by bringing her back aboard his own ship and further away from what ever destination she originally was heading.

Looking to the other boat though, he supposed they can try to chase after it so that this poor lass can be reunited...And then some. "We can follow the ship if ye like lass. You don need to worry." He then smiled back to her before seeing her stand up, allowing his offered cloak to slip off her shoulders and to the wooden flooring. At first there was a pause and as he looked back up to her wet form, there were lost of words.

User Image

He instantly found it hard to swallow, his leather pants tightening as he turned himself away, GOD! This lass is driving me insane with her body, and those hips!...Oh what I'd like to- "S-so uh, *cough* what brings you in this area? If you don mind me asking?" Iolus finally spoke out with his back turned to her, his men however were crude enough to keep staring. So he gave them a good dark glance before they all went back to their duties.

he shook his head as he turned back to pick up his cloak, but as he did so, he took the opportunity to glance at her body once more, was she expecting them not to notice? I mean by the gods its obvious what her clothes are hugging close to! Quickly, he put the cloak back over his shoulders and his hood back up before his pointy ears could be discovered. One thing about being a sly devil aboard this ship is that these men hated elves and wouldn't you know, he was one of them.Just, Iolus was better at hiding it.
