Riku hadn't been paying attention when she heard a noise. Turning, she glanced about to see a Diglett. Surprisingly it wasn't actually talking but just digging around. The girl didn't see any reason to bother it, not while she had this mission to complete. She just kept walking, hoping to find one of the 'rats' to dispose of.

Rather then a rat, Riku would soon find herself faced with another R word located down in this tunnel. A rock. Specifically one shaped like a Roggenrola...mostly because it was a Roggenrola. Standing squarely in the center of the tunnel, the creature was staring directly at the young trainer. Given the fact it was slightly leaning forward, one could imagine it would be glaring at her if it had eyebrows or lids of any sort.
">Leave this place foul creature!<" The pint sized boulder called out ">Not shall I have thee and thy kind taint this mountain further!<" Clearly this Pokemon wasn't exactly a fan of humans. Likely any attempts to negotiate would be met with a pebble in the face. This Roggenrola was out for a fight!

Riku looked in surprise at the pokemon. It had just talked.... Oh wait, she had that pokedex. Glancing through the one piece covering her left eye, she watched as the stats and the pokemon itself appeared. A Roggenrola. It looked pretty strong stat wise. Well judging by it's words the girl couldn't picture reasoning to work. Sighing, she glanced at her pokeballs. Who to choose, who to choose. She hoped that it was okay to use him. The girl tossed a pokeball into the air and there was a flash of blinding red light."Yoshi, I need your help!"
The Totodile appeared in that flash. He glanced at Riku and let out a Quack. Obviously even understanding the pokemon wouldn't help her. He wasn't exactly one to have a conversation with. The Totodile glanced at the Roggenrola, and charged forward aiming to slash it apart as his claws on the left paw glowed with a silvery sheen. It was a Metal Claw attack, one he'd learned from a certain large metal Feraligatr!

The Roggenrola visibly shook with the appearance of the Totodile, he stubby feet tapping against the ground. At his center the Rock-Type's yellow eye began to glow brightly ">Ah ha! So the demon summons a dragon to face this noble defender!<" The Pokemon called, clearly oblivious to Totodile's typing.
Wobbling further the Roggenrola would tip onto one foot, twisting around with some effort, then plunking down onto his stony feet. The Pokemon had simply turned around, albeit it a bit dramatically. Clearly he intended to take the attack across his back, using it much like a shield!

Riku watched as Yoshi charged. It looked like it was going to be a good hit but then the Roggenrola simply turned around. Yoshi's claw swept harmlessly across it, making a strange loud scratching noise. She was a little worried, but the Totodile was quick so hopefully he'd avoid whatever was coming next.
Yoshi stayed as silent as ever. What was going on in his mind? No one knew. Actually the blue reptile's mind was quite blank at the moment. Or maybe there was dancing pokemon. Regardless, he shifted from side to side slightly before standing there and waiting.

The moment the Totodile retreated the Roggenrola would take off like a shot, rolling by skipping off his three points rather then running. In a surprisingly short amount of time he'd made it to the edge of the room, his foot catching against a stone. Shifting his weight the other way the Roggenrola would pry it loose, kicking it into the air then leaping after it. Surprisingly agile for a hunk of living rock wasn't he?
">This is both thy defeat and thy grave!<" The Rock-Type shouted as he struck the stone again, shattering it into three pieces and sending them all flying in the direction of Yoshi ">ROCK TOMB!<"

Yoshi had been watching the Roggenrola pretty carefully. The blue pokemon saw that it was rolling around, at a quick pace. He didn't do anything as it approached. Then it hit a rock until it split into pieces and all three pelted towards him. The Totodile then leapt, aiming to let the rocks soar harmlessly past. Surprisingly this tactic worked as he landed back on the dirt. Once again his claw shone silver as he lashed out aiming to whack it with Metal Claw!

Striking the dirt in short order after hid assault, the Roggenrola would land on only one of his stubby feet. Yellow eyes glowing, the Pokemon would immediately shift his weight, causing him to pivot. When the motion was right he'd allow his ridged body to lower slightly, dragging through the soil and sending it in a small wave toward the oncoming Totodile, spraying the Water-Type with dirt in an attempt to void the Pokemon's attack!

[18-3] + [9-13] = 12x2= 22 dmg +1 to Yoshi's ATK stat
Roggenrola -3 HP
In that one hit, the Totodile managed to land a nice critical hit with that attack. No amount of dirt could blind him as he speedily avoided it. With a slash of his silver claws, he managed to hit the Roggenrola in a direct hit to the back. The Totodile watched as his opponent fell and then walked back over to Riku. He let out a triumphant yet smug Quack before glancing around. Nothing else would come out so this battle was over and it was time for them to be on their way once more. After all, there were still lots of rats hiding around.

Riku congratulated Yoshi on a quick win and then glanced at the pokemon. Well it had been time to keep moving so she just kept going through the tunnel. At first as they kept walking, nothing appeared in their path. Well that was just great. She couldn't help bu hope to discover at least one of the rats soon. She didn't think that Corporal Johnson would be too happy if it took a long time to complete the mission...

Travelling farther down the tunnel, the child wouldn't find a single 'Rat', but she'd certainly discover plenty of evidence towards their presence here. Further down the tunnel the girl would find a series of small crates stacked atop one another, half covered by a brown tarp the same shade as the soil. If she liked she could always check to see if there was any supplies left in the crate, or she could simply keep walking, reassured she was headed in the right direction.

Riku continued walking and then spotted a crate. Well there was something covering it but it was still pretty obvious that it was there. Walking over, she began to pull the cover off to see if there were any supplies still inside. They might come in handy..

Riku would find each of the crates was relatively barren, the items taken and likely already made use of. The key term however was relatively. Stuck to the corner of the lower most crate, and smelling horribly, was a rotten Jaboca Berry. It was clear by it's mushy bruised state that the berry had been rendered inedible, but from the looks of things the seed could still be salvaged should she have a mind to.
