That did sound vaguely familiar, actually. He was sure that Sleeth wasn't any less excitable as a Hatchling than she was now as an adult. "Actually... yes," S'koi answered with a faint blush. "A couple of her siblings were creating a bit of a scene on the Sands at the time, so while everyone was paying attention to them she came over my way and claimed me as Hers." It had been a special moment that he would always look back on rather fondly.

Of course, it seemed the new green was drawing a fair bit of attention to herself in her own silent way. Would things still remain as peaceful on the Sands as they had been up to this point?

S'kiro stood back in the stands. His friend was down on the Sands again. He was wishing her the best of luck this time. Before long though, Dizzian had Impressed. He was joyous at the sight, a beautiful green. Mine, did you see? The large blue was also happy for the girl, though he couldn't remember her name. Yes, my heart. A pretty green. He would have to go and congratulate her later.

Delight flooded Pipith when Cepheith noticed and returned his greeting, but it dimmed somewhat when she proceeded to greet the two larger bronzes. She didn't...surely she didn't prefer them? Even if they were larger and - woe of woes - higher-ranking. His eyes whirled red-orange at the thought, and he quickly struck a pose to show himself off as best he could.

The beginnings of a bugle swelled in his chest, but Set'al elbowed him sharply. "It's a Hatching, you sharding dragon," he hissed quietly. "Save it."

Oh, now there were two blues! The first one seemed to be rather...hyper. Or maybe he was just excited to come out of his shell. Who really knew? The other seemed to actually be somewhat quiet. Of course, right after the hyper blue found his partner another egg hatched to reveal a green. A green that seemed to have a bit of a worrisome feel to her, a fact that seemed to be confirmed when the quiet blue let out a worried noise. Aislin could only wonder what actually made her so worrisome.

As soon as Cepheith deemed him worthy of a greeting Plexith all but forgot about the hatchlings romping about on the sands - they were all blues and greens so far anyways and Cepheith was a gold. Feeling his dragons attention waver, D'lin turned and scanned the crowds , sending a smile and nod towards Narisa. It was only polite after all - since he was fairly certain that Plexith was doing the same to her dragon.

'Cepheith' Plexith greeted the gold with warm deference 'Are you enjoying the hatching?' The bronze asked with sincere interest in his tone before bespeaking his rider. 'You ought to spend more time with Narisa, you are Wingleader now and she is a queen rider.' Neither he nor Plexith had to add in that with Brakiath and Abigail's current condition no one really knew how the future would play out. 'I expect your right' D'lin conceded after a few moments.

Pleased with his riders response Plexith turned his attention back to dragonly affairs and noted Pipith attempting to show off, arching his neck Plexith followed suit, stretching out his rather impressive wings in what looked to be a stretch but in reality was just a thinly veiled attempt to garner the golds attention.

The more level-headed blue watched the new green slink across the sands before shaking his head and continuing on his way. Meandering through the boys was easier now that the haphazard Solath was gone and he was able to better judge the Candidates. His was here, somewhere...

The green, however, lifted her head and stood proudly, regal with all the bearing of a gold in green's skin and looked around. Her eyes began to whirl shades of orange and red, cut through with yellow as she first looked to the boys then the girls. Crooning suddenly, she made for the girls, the colours of her eyes growing richer and deeper.

A few girls parted for her but those did not were maimed with flashing claws and teeth as the green bucked and shoved.

Oh no! Why were her eyes swirling such bad colors when she'd only just hatched? Roeline was quick to move out of this dragon's way, but she watched on with worry as she made her way through the girls, clawing and biting at any who stood in her way. Oooooh, why was this hatchling being so mean? Was she just mean by nature, or was Hers not here? Neither was a particularly good option, and suddenly Roeline found herself rather a bit more distressed. Were there Healers nearby?

Courath looked on with sad disapproval as the vicious green tore through the ranks of girls. It was good that she had hatched first and found hers. Though she had managed to avoid the worst of the dragons over her past hatchings, Dizzian may have done something rash in her desperation to Impress. She chewed contemplatively, waiting for her sister's rage to burn itself out.

Dizzian winced as she watched. She'd seen her share of maulings and had narrowly avoided a few of her own. "Oh please, get out of her way!" She spoke quietly fervently urging the candidates to step aside, even if the green meant for one of them to be Hers, she may not realize it till she'd already attacked the poor girl!

.................................

Ailin breathed a sigh of relief as the green made her way towards the girls. If they didn't get out of the way and got themselves clawed it was their own fault. Just as he'd let himself get attacked. He turned his head from the green, not caring to watch the carnage and instead focused on the quiet blue that made it's careful way through their ranks. He recalled vaguely that it had stopped by him as he lay on the ground, he had been too absorbed in his own fear to truely notice though.

Really? Why did the violent hatchling have to come over here?! Nawa wasted no time whatsoever in getting well out of the way. She had hesitated before, and wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. She felt bad for the girls who got hurt, but well...she didn't have time to worry about them right now. Her first concern needed to be for herself, if she was going to avoid being injured, too.

"Private and then the lake after?" Lena suggested to S'ren and E'lai. She doubted short of Threadfall itself the riders' duty for the day would be too strenuous. That was, after all, the benefit of Hatchings. Even the weyrfolk (or was that especially the weyrfolk?) got a good celebration out of the event. But the good mood of planning her party after the event didn't last long once events on the Sands really seemed to get going. That green... It didn't take a rider to be able to read the hatchling's state from the color whirling in her eyes. This could be very ill luck indeed...

Selene was nearly frozen as the green made her way to the girls. The greens eyes were so.... chaotic. Unfortunately, she came to her senses too slowly and she didn't move out of the way fast enough. She let out a cry of pain as she stumbled back knowing that her left leg was bleeding. She sucked in a deep breath and forced herself to stay standing. She would stay through the injury.

Seeing Plexith also pose for Cepheith, Pipith issued a rumbling growl and fixed the other bronze with a red-orange glare, mantling his wings to make himself look bigger...to limited effect, of course.

While Set'al was focused on the mean little dragonet down on the Sands, it was impossible to miss his own dragon's growing agitation. "Hey!" He thwacked the bronze on the leg. "Knock it off, Pip." Don't you dare try to start anything here.

But-

No. Settle down, now. This is not the time and you know it.

"Sounds like a plan to me," S'ren agreed. Though that particular topic didn't last for much longer, for suddenly the latest green was making quite a scene down on the Sands. A scene that he very much wasn't happy with given that his sister was down there with them. Fortunately she had had the sense to move out of the way before coming to any harm, but that didn't make the situation really any better. He would be watching closely.

Syn watched the rest of the hatching while she fed her new found green. So far another blue had impressed and and there hadn't been much excitement up until now. Now however, that green seemed hell bent on something or other and tore through the girls like some creature gone mad. She hoped that the green wasn't about to go between, they needed every dragon that they could get. Not to mention it always broke her heart to see such a sight. No one should ever have to go without theirs. She knew that especially now that she had impressed with Gementh. How had she ever been happy without her?

The green nudged Syn's hand impatiently yet lovingly. 'Why must sister make such a fuss?' She told Syn disapprovingly. 'Do not worry about her, I am still hungry Synmine.' Gementh took the bit of meat that Syn offered her quite happily and greedily. Eating it up just as quickly as the girl had handed it to her. Syn hesitated a moment, afraid to feed Gementh too much but was quickly reassured by her that there was no need to worry. Picking up another bit of meat she handed it to hers and continued to watch the hatching, hoping for the best.

Hello, Plexith! Cepheith happily greeted the bronze, amusement flickering through to her rider. Who smacked her snout. I am very much enjoying it. I look forward to seeing the little ones grow. Warmth tinged her tone as she focused on the Hatchlings again.

<Really, Cepheith? Really?> Narisa said with exasperation towards her dragon. <It's a Hatching! Can't you behave and not tease those poor bronzes?>

There was a pause as the gold considered this. Pipith! She greeted the smaller bronze sweetly. I hope you are enjoying the hatching as much as I am?

"You pain! Leave'em alone until after the hatching!" Narisa rubbed at her face, shoving the gold snout away from her as she crossed her arms and regarded the Candidates and hatchlings. The feisty green worried her and she hoped that none of the girls got serious injuries. But watching as the green moved through them, Narisa winced and was pretty sure the Healer's were going to be seeing some of the female Candidates.

"I hope none of them do anything foolish..." Her fingers tapped against her arm, eyes drifting over the unhatched eggs still sitting on the Sands.
