Nice. Very nice. I respect your whole knowledge is limited thing. I think more often people need to step back and realize that there's stuff to be learning from other people...I think that's why I like learning about religion - even when their beliefs contradict my own. Good to meet you. smile

Nice to meet you too. I noticed you mentioned The Count of Monte Cristo as a favorite above. The Three Musketeers is one of my favorite books, but I couldn't get through Count of MC. The styles seemed entirely different. I thought maybe it was just caused by a difference in translators or something. It's a book I feel I should read though, so I was wondering if there was something specific you enjoyed about it, and whether there was a specific translation of it you read. I own a copy of it and might give it a go again.
Also...I'd be interested in any other book suggestions you have...Is there a book discussion area or guild you know of where that would be appropriate?

It probably was a difference in translations. As a studying translator, I can imagine translating those books into English would've been really hard. First of all because they're larger books and secondly because the original language has certain turns of phrase that can be translated in totally different ways.
I'm not quite sure what version I own - I'll check that and get back to you - but I adored the storyline. A good plot always makes me smile. And as I always enjoy a good literary discussion and am not quite sure where to move ours - why don't you just pm me? smile

I'm kind of a mix between Buddhist, Gnostic, and Taoist. I'm more eclectic when it comes to religion (pick and choose).
