Kiiro looked at the trees, shrubs and other plant-life that she and Jerem passed. She saw a squirrel dart up and tree and her eyes went wide at it. However, she stayed right in Jerem's arms because her fur was still damp and she didn't want to move from the warmth that his body was putting off. She had her ears tilted a bit as she felt a bit embarrassed being held by Jerem. When she heard it be asked where they were going, Kiiro looked back up at Jerem with a curious look on her face. Was he asking her or just openly asking where they were going? She couldn't tell him in her cat form and she wasn't changing back, so she wasn't sure how to reply. She let out a soft meow, as if trying to tell where they were going, but knew it wasn't going to be understood.

Jerem's pace slowed a bit as he stared up at the trees, at the sky. He continued walking in silence now, taking his time, enjoying the scenery. It wasn't long before buildings were in sight-- houses, fences. He slowed to a stop and stood in the trees, staring at the neighborhood. "Where to now?" he asked softly, not looking at the cat in his arms. He seemed a bit distracted.

Kiiro loved the scenery on the mountain. However, she didn't much like the city, with all the buildings, cars, and people. She didn't like all the other people that were around. She knew they'd make fun of her or worse if they ever saw what she really was. Hearing Jerem asking where they should go, Kiiro looked up at him and gave him a look, wondering why he was asking her where to go since she couldn't talk. She wanted to go to his house, but if he didn't want that she'd not fight him.

The young man nodded slowly, although why, he wouldn't be able to answer. He started walking again, going around a fence to get to the street. His neighborhood wasn't far from here. The houses all looked roughly the same, some with variations, but not much. One story houses with a decently sized yard. He went down two blocks, then turned a corner onto another street, and went down another block. Then he stopped on the sidewalk, outside of a light-blue house with a white front door. In the driveway were two cars, his parents'. "This is it," he stated, glancing down at Kiiro, at last. He had a smile on his face, though it was strained. "My house." He didn't go any closer, though. He could see through one of the front windows, barely, his parents walking around. Their arms were waving. He didn't want to go inside.

Kiiro looked at everything, the houses, the people, the cars. She didn't like them at all and wanted to go home, but she knew that as long as she stayed where she was she was safe. Her eyes stopped flicking from side to side as Jerem stopped in front of a blue house with a white dorr. When Kiiro heard that Jerem said that was his house, she looked up to see a forced smile on his face. She could also feel and sense the tension and stress that Jerem was under, even though he wasn't even that close to the house. Kiiro noticed the poeple inside looked like they were fighting or something and she could even hear the yelling coming from inside. She put her ears flat against her head and she pressed her tiny, furry body closer to Jerem's. She didn't at all like fighting and didn't know if she'd like living there at all.

"It's not always like this. When I'm home, they're usually quiet," he said slowly, though he didn't really sound convincing, "but I'll stop them. They won't be fighting when you come to stay with us." He turned away from the house, lowering his gaze. "Or we'll stay with my grandparents."

Not being entirely sure she believed Jerem, Kiiro looked from the house to him. She wondered if they would stop fighting if they saw a cute little cat, but she higly doubted it. When Jerem turned from the house, Kiiro looked back and then let her ears up and heard Jerem mentioning about his grandparents. If she could speak she'd say that would probably be better, as long as they didn't fight too. She thought about what it would be like living away from the mountain for a long time and wasn't too sure. But she then thought that it could be like a vacation, even though most people took their vacations in summer.

Jerem began walking down the sidewalk, heading back for the mountain paths. He was going to just take the one he usually uses when he goes to visit Kiiro. His steps were determined, and it seemed like for a minute, any attempt to communicate with him would have been impossible. He wasn't staring at anything but the ground, or his shoes, as he walked. His frustration and embarrassment for his parents was almost tangible as he walked. "They're adults. They shouldn't be behaving like children," he grumbled, his voice sounding strained, as though it was trying to keep from coming out too harshly.

Kiiro watched all the houses and everything else as they passed. She saw Jerem was heading back to the mountain and wondered why he was. Though, she figured that he wanted away from the fighting. She couldn't talk with Jerem in her current state, but she didn't know if she'd have been able to. She heard Jerem grumbling in a strained voice that his parents were acting like children. She wasn't sure what to do, but she just rubbed her small head against Jerem's chest and purred, trying to make him feel better.

He didn't say anything for a while as they continued walking back towards the forest. He seemed off in his own little world. Until someone was shouting his name. "Jerem! Hey, dude!" Jerem stopped and looked up, blinking. His arms held onto Kiiro a little protectively. Then he smiled, lifting a hand and waving. There was another guy, with red hair and freckles, waving at him. "Dude, where are you going?" the red-head asked as he approached. "Just going for a walk," Jerem answered, skirting the question a little. He held onto the feline in his arms a little tighter. "What are you doing?" The red-head put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "Grandma's sending me to the store for some bread. You wanna come with me?" "I...Can't," Jerem replied simply, "I was just on my way...I forgot my bag at a place in the woods and I need to go get it back before something happens to it..." The red head blinked, lifted an eyebrow, and then shrugged. "Alright, dude.. We'll hang out some other time." "Yeah! Of course." The red head went on his way, and Jerem hurried down the sidewalk. Just get in the woods. No need for anyone to ask questions about the cat. "Whew. Alright, back to your cabin.."
