((Wait... iFail *Die* So excited, I didn't think gonk ))

From the odd vantage point Soleil had, she spied the ambush and promptly abandoned her brother, charging down to be with the rest. But she was too slow, reaching the group as they repelled the 'attackers' back. She gave a snort, then turned to her paternal uncle. "I'm following YOU now, you're actually FINDING action out here, all I've found are stupid ROCKS and Keahilani's rear end!" Her blood was starting to boil, though whether it was out of frustration or the heat, she couldn't tell anymore. Either way, she was still getting frustrated. When would SHE get some glory in this game?! And then there was another pop-up, and Soleil only felt her self-rage rise.

His sister was far too rash. Keahilani gave a snort, before picking his way after Soleil. They had at least found the rest of the group, post-ambush. As Keahilani got closer, he heard the tail-end of his sister's rant and gave her an indignant look. "Maybe you should learn to lead." He passed her, smacking her with the flame-like hairs on his tail against her nose. He then gave their uncle a proud look, clearly pleased to be related. "I think Soleil should learn from you, Uncle Ali... Such as TACT..." Hopefully, though, sticking with the main group would net him a tag-out... And Soleil's dinner and den-cleaning services. It was starting to entertain him how angry she was getting at herself, too...

Singh nodded, though he already knew how they worked together. His back still twinged from the last time he'd witnessed the Firekin working together. "My one problem is that with so many snakes around... I'm worried I won't have enough of the venom-sucking salve I keep... You know, just in case..." He watched Naseera get tagged out and went to collect her, feeling a small emotional pull toward the lioness. Something about her seemed... Familiar, somehow. He couldn't put his paw on it, though. "Come on, you, time to rest with the others... Before Ea chews your ear and left hind leg off."

Mo'o, the skink, enjoyed the sun at his vantage point atop a rock. It was almost hilarious to watch them pretend to die. What was even more hilarious was when they lost their tempers. He had known that the red lions had bad tempers sometimes but this was just too much. It was just a game. Perhaps it was meant to be a serious game. He wondered what the purpose of all this fighting and pretending to die was for.

So much happened so fast that all Mwako'Damu could do was stay back and watch as the opposite team tried an ambush, had only one successful tag out (which made him wish to rush forward, but again, his hesitation made him too late) and another of the other team fell to those in Hraga's ranks. It was different, this kind of training, seeing how others would actually move rather than training himself against the hardened tree his paws knew too well. He only hoped if he acted soon, he might have a chance in these games to show Hraga and the others he could indeed fight.

Badieh was so focused on trying to figure out who those in the ambush were that she stood still too long. Others acting quickly. She held in a huff that wished to escape her throat, an waited, hoping she'd have a chance the next time. Sjari had, no she had to!

Ryujin believed if his brother and sister saw him now that perhaps they would be picking on him, staying back, Naar walking a little beyond him, but he kept an eye on her. He wished to take part, but still, there was a tiny bit of him that was unsure, but he let himself become tense, muscles harden, eyes narrowing. He had to watch for the others...any other retaliation.

Although the group wasn't arguing about what to do yet, they also wasn't coming to any actual decisions. Still, the chances of Team Two attacking such a large group wasn't likely, right? Wrong. Suddenly, from seemingly out of no where, four Firekin who were marked with mud barrelled towards the group. Would a group of four really attack such a large group if this was a real battle? Well, he would, but that was because he was such a hot head.

Teketeza snarled when he spotted the Hongshan among them, before correcting himself. Three Firekin and one Hongshan. She was the one he wanted to take out, but in all the commotion, he struggled to make his way over to her.

Ukuba sighed a little over the fact that they couldn't come to a decision as a group about how best to proceed. In his opinion, the leader needed to take more charge of the situation. It became too late for that however, as they were suddenly under attack.

Moving to the middle of the group in order to observe what was going on, he quickly picked out the four Team Two members. Only four? If that was how it remained, they would methodically get taken down, even if his team chose to take them on one on one. The Nergui would not be so merciful, so the idea that a group of four had attacked such a large group as theirs was laughable in his opinion. He didn't doubt that the four Firekin would be taken out before he was even able to get involved. Roho was among them, so she was the one he chose to keep an eye on. Hopefully she would show the Firekin what she was made of.

Waiting in the wing, a lioness with narrowed eyes like bright glass sat crouched just out of sight. It was Roho, kneading the ground beneath her paws in hungry anticipation. She had heard the ruckus before, the indecision. Heard the voices of those not taking this game as seriously as they should. Did they not understand that someday soon they would be facing monsters? Real monsters who would fight to kill. Did they not understand that they would see loved ones fall? That they could meet death themselves?!

Well Roho would teach them.

(( Response Added! ))

With lions running and dodging left and right, it was quite difficult for Teketeza to focus. It frustrated him greatly, as he found himself lashing out at his own team members in amongst all the commotion. Of course, his claws were retracted, but that didn't mean that a good smack would hurt any less. He was definately one of the ones that was taking it more seriously than he probably should.

Ukuba quickly noticed how excitable certain Firekin were getting. One crossed word and the situation could escalate. He supposed that this made the feeling of war more realistic, but having said that, it made the lack of organisation all the more worrying.

As he kept his eyes on Roho, she dropped the ground, presumably to carry out a sneak attack. He swiftly moved to intercept her, but when he got to where he had last seen her, she was gone. Before he could even react, he was forced to the ground. He blinked as he looked up at Roho. Well, if he was going to be taken out, it may as well be a fellow Hongshan. Even if Roho and Nawvlee seemed more like Firekin with every passing day. Remaining quite still, he waited for a medic to retrieve him.

The tide was turning... The attacking team seemed to have lost momentum, and in the confusion they were quite successfully ambushed. Lions on the attacking side were starting to fall, and Xefo wondered if it would start to affect morale. Not that these lions seemed to be the sorts to be discouraged by small setbacks. The defenders were starting to catch up, but it could still go either way.

Naseera stared wide eyed at the lioness on top of her, not even sure what had happened. She'd...lost? How had the other flipped her so fast?! That wasn't fair! That wasn't fair at all! Her silver eyes turned into huge pools, and her feet kicked out behind her. It certainly didn't help that her opponent lingered, savoring her victory. It gave her plenty of time to let the loss really sink in.

"But I didn't...but..." She wibbled as Singh started to drag her away. "Its not faaaiiiirrrr...!"

----

In the thick of the ambush, Hraga gave a low snarl as Tarsa barreled past. That...! Was this planned, or just because they hadn't caught the sentry? It would have to be Tarsa! No one else could throw a wrench in his plans quite like his sour friend. No doubt he'd be rubbing his face in it later. "Tarsa!" He yelled, trying to goad the large lion into facing him.

But, Tarsa was anything but a fool. Instead, he lept alongside Roho, breaking off as she clashed viciously with her opponent. Maybe a little too viciously. Roho and Tarsa seemed to be taking this a bit...seriously, even for a war game.

"Push back!" Hraga yelled. "We outnumber them, don't separate. They're just trying to scatter everyone."

[Just a minor note: when an enemy lion wins the duel, they will be rerolled at a later point! <3 ]

It was just a whirlwind of action. First the chase for the black lioness, which, irritatingly, ended badly for team one. They had ran ahead and hadn't even caught the sentry! Great, so much for sneaking about some more. Kalama hissed, irritated, as she skidded to a halt. She turned to regroup with the others as they also stopped their pursuit, and didn't comment.

It didn't seem to take that long for things to start happening again. Suddenly four lions were coming upon them, and all Kalama could do was spin and try to make sure she didn't get knocked over. At least they were only four attackers.

Still, they had managed to down one lion... and another. She laid her ears back. First losses on their side.

Sjari arrived a little late, not having given chase to the sentry. He missed the first bit of the ambush, but saw that one of their own was on the floor. The same one who had commended him for taking down Fia earlier. And he caught a glimpse of Roho, going for another. He didn't watch her too long, rather preferring to avoid fighting another Hongshan. He joined the others, but kept further away from where she was acting.

With one last gloating look at the dark lioness, Nisi flipped her forelock out of her eyes and turned an expectant gaze to her aunt. She'd taken out one of the 'enemies' from the other team - surely now the older lioness would take her more seriously?

Hewa, however, had already turned her attention elsewhere, and stood tensed and ready, sticking with the group. The foreigner had tackled one of theirs, and two others also remained. Now was not the time to give praise or look for it.

Oh dear. From where Saharan lay watching she could see that not one, but two of her teammates had been taken out. First was the big white and red fellow with the garish cape, swept over in the rush from team two. He was far too slow, never had a chance. He seemed to take it with grace though, and didn't whine or moan like some of team two's losses had. She watched as he was dragged from the area, rolled to his feet, and sat cheerfully on the side line. For being 'dead' he sure was positive. Ah well. The second was a lion lost in a one-on-one clash. That didn't look fun. Nope, not at all. For the second time, she was glad she'd elected to remain posted up the run with the others. Perhaps...hmm. Deciding that she at least wouldn't go down that easily, she began to slowly and quietly dig down into the side of the dune she was behind. She'd bury herself partly! Camouflage and all that. Right?

As the group moved on, Saoiraed found himself being dragged through the sand off the 'playing field'. Now out of bounds, he rolled to his feet, shook off the sand, and thanked the kind medic. Poor things. Firekin were heavy by nature, and a load to carry. At least most of the medics seemed likewise of desert stock, with few rogues, or ex-rogues mixed in. He set to thinking as he found a seat, about what would be better. Small fast medics that could weave through fighting to the wounded better? Or large medics who could take a few hits themselves? Maybe a mix...

Having been ambushed by the Nergui, Yayuka wasn’t really in a gaming mood either. Wanting to prove himself, he was willing to give this war exercise his all! He growled, looking for an opponent.

Catching one in his sights, he struck!

She might have been startled to be singled out, but she had already been braced and ready. How he picked her out of them all was a mystery. Perhaps it was due to her unfamiliar presence that she was targeted. The why was irrelevant, however. She steeled herself, eyes narrowing and lips pulling back in a snarl. Just in time she reminded herself that this was a game only, and that the claws needed to stay sheathed. She drew a breath instead and launched herself at the last moment at him as well.

But as he leapt high at her, she dove low. She reached her paws and caught one of his hind legs as she slid beneath his belly. Bracing with her own hind paws, she flung all her momentum and weight against that one hind leg, even as he shifted his weight off of it. With an awkward movement upwards with paws and shoulder, she managed to spin his balance off-center. From the dirt she watched him stagger sideways through the other lions before crashing to the ground, rolling over with his continued momentum. Ha, got him on his back! She regained her paws and darted over to the dark male with the flame mane. She smacked on paw on his exposed belly. "Dead," she growled, fighting down the urge to smile playfully or chuckle. Playing was not what she was here for! And since when did she have fun anymore?

With a scowl at herself, ears canting backwards, she turned swiftly away from her 'dead' foe. He wasn't the only enemy, after all, and the others might need her help. Her pink-striped tail lashed with agitation as she stalked away, her demeanor a sharp contrast to that moment of joy when she'd tapped him out.

Badieh only kept closer together with the group, with those non retaliating against those that wished to 'thwart' one another. But as she moved to stay in a group, within ranks, as it were, she had missed opportunities once more. She wondered, though, how similar nergui attacks might be to those within this game, how much faster they would be.

Ryujin watched as one of their own was not successful, but another tried and true to their strength had gotten the upper paw. A faint smile, perhaps even a smirk was upon his maw at the sight. Those without experience in war could only become better through these tactics. Even if by watching.

Mwako'Damu let his toes feel the ground, claws barely scrape the surface, he was eager and ready. He moved himself to stand his ground with those that came together in a group, but he did not want to bunch up either as that would make them vulnerable to an attack. He may not have been alive, or even born during the rebellion but his mother had given him what advice she could, as well as his strong father.

Mo'o, the skink, had to admit that the fighting prowess of these lions was second to none. At least none that he had seen. Of course, if this was training, there was no question as to why they were so good. Any pride that dared to wage war against them would have to either be straight stupid or big-headed. He was glad he was so tiny. They would never have a quarrel with him. So he just got to watch the game play out in safety.
