"Oh! Batshit!" Belladonna cursed as she hit the button at the wrong time and her character spun out. She at least got lucky enough to hit a speed boost. It didn't do much good as it only ricocheted her demented princess off the road and into a ravine. The witch growled at the skeev, but only concentrated further in hopes she could still salvage this round. What had Mort said he wanted if he won again?? ((Total so far: 4, lawl))

Mort wasn't sure if he'd ever heard the witch curse, but . . . it was kinda hilarious actually. Taking advantage of her sudden derping, he sped ahead and managed to get himself up to first place after a few scrapes. "Funny, never thought've as competitive," he commented before smirking and adding, "Better find your luck again 'fore you get n' last place, though."

"S'alright for doing out of four. Won't matter if you win this one n'way," he said as he sailed onward, giving a little mad scientist-like laugh of his own. There was something about the game that made him feel alive like a live wire. Probably the racing aspect, since Mort could never hope to achieve such speed - hell, his idea of running probably equalled a normal person's light jog pace. Here though? He could be the speed demon.
Or he could derp up and find himself in third place, but as long as it was in front of Bells, he was satisfied~(( 1/3 Total Score: 11 Roll's best, then rolls worst. Story of his life. QQ ))

"Eeehhhhhhh, I don't usually get competitive." Belladonna mumbled as she watched Mort zoom off, but eventually fizzle out. "I guess certain things I do... Its always a mystery about what it'll be though."
For a moment the witch paused and glanced sideways at the boy. Would she be competitive for him, she wondered?

Then the witch was off the side of the road again, into that same jackdamned ravine! Belladonna let out a shriek of dismay, but just as she did, she acquired a glowing pumpkin and was able to shoot forward a few places. "Gaahh~ You're totally gonna win this one~" The witch whined as she clutched the controller harder. ((Total of 2/3: 13))

Mort laughed some more at Bella's troubles, though less in a cackling way and more out of pure amusement. "Maybe shouldn't look at me. Good looks distracting~" he teased, a bit surprised at himself for saying it.

And then he got stuck on the same Jackdamn ravine the princess had until a CPU knocked him off, and he actually face palmed while the skeletal bats respawned him. "Theory for trolling game is going strong . . ." he mumbled as he raced to, well, get back in the race!(( Total = 21 ))

The witch laughed out loud at his comment, and nudged him with her shoulder. "Maybe that's why I'm loosing, you're too good looking!" She laughed when she said it, but she meant it too. Finally, Princess Peach-Pit managed to cross the finish line, one place after Mort. Belladonna followed the face-palm action with a heavy sigh. "I think you might be right." She acquiesced with a smile. ((Total: 20!))

"Aaah, not be sad. Only lost one race," he reminded her as he passed the line in third place, returning the shoulder nudge with one of his own as well as a wink. "And whatever results are, we're still pretty n' handsome people. CPUs can suck it~" Maybe some of that odd "swag" came back to him, that odd display of bravado he had while on the Isle of War when he was gifted with a brand new brain.
And now all that was left was the terrifyingly colorful rainbow of sparkles. Mort even squinted a bit when the camera first zoomed in on the racers, just before the countdown began.
And then the music started as they blasted their engines. Mort remembered the melody and hummed along.(( Total = 26 ))

"I guess it was only one race..." The witch finally mused with a small blush as she received his wink. Well, this was interesting! Usually it was Belladonna who did the winks and the exuberant displays of flirtations.
But this wasn't bad.
This was actually kind of fun...
Then a bright and shiny thing distracted the witch. Her face lit up and seemed to reflect the sparkley bridge before them.
"Ooooohhhhhh~" The witch chimed at the rainbow. "It'd be better if it was a monochrome rainbow. But I guess all the colors make it scary. But sparkles~"
When Mort began humming the witch giggled again and gripped her controller, but with glee this time.

"Mrrrrr~" While it was by far the most curious racing course in the Scario Kart series, to Mort it also had the catchiest song. Maybe it was because he was busy humming it that Growlser didn't really zoom ahead nor fall behind, trading places off with the princess as they navigated the platform drops and wiggles. At some point the zomboil found himself moving to and fro to the beat as well, bumping into Bells almost playfully every other beat.
What was neat was that Halloween Town sprawled beneath them as the course went on: the city at first, turning into the more rural parts later, and then eventually they would hit the snowy bits towards the end. It was almost like a broom ride . . . but faster and with more characters yelling at each other.(( 1/3 Total: 5 ))

Eventually the witch started to fall behind, even to the point of careening off the narrow road a few times. A few shrieks were heard from her, but when Mort started bouncing she only smiled. It was probably his doing that she was falling off the track, but he was so happy... It didn't much matter.
This was too much fun!

The speed boost managed to get the witch zooming ahead, and not off the road, so she playfully nudged the boy back with a giggle. Even though she knew the whispers he experienced were never truly gone, if they diminished even for a little while that was enough. "Last lap!" The witch announced, "Let's see what you got!" ((Round 2/3 Total so far: 13))

Oh Jack, he should probably be paint more attention . . . But Mort felt too giddy to get upset about falling off the sparkling road, even if it did give him a small chill to see someone fall so far before being snatched up by the bats. The humming continued regardless as he maneuvered back on track.
