While Lin was up, and getting ready to start the day she was a bit distracted. Because of the short time she could ever stay in this world as the result of the time difference, Lin had to schedule her time much more. At the moment there was just so much (if not too much to do).

Top on their to do list was to commission Andarien's new glasses (or goggles). So while she wanted to spend some time out in the city with just her and Earendil, for this first trip, it would be the whole family. Besides, the children would love it, and she couldn't say no to that.

Since they were heading into the city, maybe they should drop by the library, she was sure Earendil would be interested in that. There were no public libraries as far as she knew though maybe she should ask Luk if Cara Galdhon had one.

There was the marketplace, and she wanted the marketplace not the shopping district. If one wanted good old fashion unique wares, often it was the marketplace you went to. Though she and Earendil would have to head to the shopping district eventually for pets.

Then there was visiting her family on a more one on one basis, and there was a lot of the grounds to explore.

Speaking of family she nearly forgot her grandmother and it took every ounce of self restraint not to groan at the thought. Her grandmother would be unbarable if she didn't take Earendil to see her.

"There's not enough time in a week," Lin muttered under her breath.

Miyuki had no such thoughts, she knew they would be busy but it was always busy when preparing for a new trip. So unlike her mother (who was probably still trying to get ready while thinking her brains out), she was leaving her room to check on Andarien.

Unlike Lin, Earendil was awake and ready to go, and quite calm. He was watching Lin curiously as she bustled about to get ready, and when she made her comment about there not being enough time, he couldn't hold back a smile.

"You, dear, need to calm down," he said, standing up and taking her into his arms. "One thing at a time." He held her close for a moment, then kissed her on the top of her head before letting her go.

Andarien heard a door open and looked up from his blocks. "Mi?" he guessed from the fact that his parents' door was still closed.

Lin looked up at him sheepishly because she knew she was freaking out for no good reason. They would get to everything eventually.

"Right..." Lin murmured, "It's not like it would take just long to get there."

Because Lin was not going to get her father to drive them, they were taking the portals. Taking up her bag, because they were going to get a bit of shopping down she turned to him.

"Ready?"

"I'm right here," Mi poked her head into his bedroom, "I think mom and ada are almost ready."

Her ears were twitching as she said this, only because she could kind of hear them talking.

Earendil smiled warmly at Lin and joined her at the door. "I've been ready for a while," he assured her.

Andarien blinked at Miyuki. "Oh ... then I should clean up," he decided. He started to put his blocks back onto the shelf. "Don't want to leave a mess here for Nako ..."

He still wasn't used to the English words, despite the fact that his grandparents here spoke English rather than Elvish.

"Sorry," Lin apologized, "I just want to make sure we get everywhere."

She laughed a bit and looked a bit sheepish.

"I always imagined where I'd take you if you came, and now I can't seem to remember half of it!"

She opened the door and caught a glimpse of the children in Andarien's room.

"We do have a lifetime," Earendil reminded Lin with a chuckle as he followed her into the hallway. "We can make as many visits as we want. Really there's no rush."

Andarien didn't have a lot of blocks, and it didn't take him long to put them all on the shelf. When he turned back to Miyuki, he spotted their parents in the hallway and broke into a wide grin.

"Nana! Ada!" he exclaimed, running over and hugging both of them at the same time as well as he could (one arm around each of them).

"Hey..." Lin smiled softly as she placed a hand on Andarien's head, "Good morning you two. Did you sleep well?"

"Can we go down now?" Miyuki asked, "I smell breakfast."

And she was sure she smelled eggy toast (or french toast), and while it wasn't the same as having pancakes she liked it all the same.

Andarien beamed up at Lin. "I slept good," he nodded. "It's not too hot here or too cold! And the pillows are nice and soft!"

He liked the idea of going down for breakfast, though he wasn't sure what it smelled like.

"You slept well then?" she made a rhetorical question and it was really just her correcting his grammar.

She motioned for them to follow her, they would be in the kitchen since the family was much smaller when not inviting everyone who was ever adopted, married and born into the family.

"That's good to know, it is Spring here and the weather here is mild like the Westland."

Though the control temperature system in the home also helped, it was a luxury they did have.

Andarien blinked innocently up at Lin. "Isn't that what I said?" he asked her.

Earendil chuckled as he followed the rest of their family down to the kitchen. He knew what Lin was getting at. Hadn't he had the same grammatical lessons pounded into his head as a child?

"Sleeping is something you do, when you're feeling or doing something, it is well, if you're referring to an object, person, place or thing, it is good," Lin explained.

Once they got to the ground floor and closer to the kitchen they could smell the scent of egg, bread and the sweet smell of syrup.

Andarien stared at Lin, the language lesson going completely over his head. But the smell of breakfast was distracting him, and he quickly diverted his attention to it.

"It smells sweet," he murmured, licking his lips as his stomach growled gently.

"Someone is making French Toast," Lin murmured.

Sure enough the moment they entered the kitchen there was Kara bringing out what looked like a casserole dish full of thick slices of eggy toast. Normally pan fried, the oven recipe allowed her to do large amounts.

On the table someone had put maple syrup and peanut butter along with powdered sugar. Some liked it sweet, others like the peanut butter.

"Good morning!" Kara looked up from where she was piling everything onto a large serving plate, "Did you sleep well last night? No problems with anything in the rooms?"

Since she knew how different it could be.

"French toast?" Earendil questioned curiously as they entered the kitchen. When he spotted the tray that Kara was holding, however, he supposed that must be what Lin had meant.

Andarien followed his nose into the kitchen, and only when he spotted Kara did he realize that he had left his goggles in his bedroom. Well, he could get those later.

"Morning!" he returned her greeting cheerfully. "It's a nice room, and I slept good, but it was kind of lonely. Normally I sleep with Nana and Ada, if we're traveling, or with Mi, when we're at the palace."

"Ah yes... traveling would be different than being in one place where you can get your own room," Kara nodded in understanding.

She didn't know there wasn't much privacy if one was traveling with family, it was better to stick together. Picking up the hot tray she brought it over to the dining table where a few of the members who lived in the household were helping setting the table.

Though Kali was absentmindly reading something on her tablet.

Donovan poked the young woman, "You can spend at least half an hour not working. Honestly if you didn't live here you'd forget to eat."
