"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?"  Medley nodded and placed a hand on the glowing sides of the shield- she tried to break it, her palms lighting up, summoning a ball of energy. But just when the shield looked like it was weakening it pulsed and then Medley's spell was gone, her flesh slightly singed. Drawing her hand back with a hiss she tried to cast the spell again, only to have the same fallback. She turned back to Nikolai,"I'm sorry...there's nothing I can do, against the full power of an angel, my spells are nothing. This shield is made to last, there's no getting past it unless the caster cancells it out."

 Étude♪ The Silent Soldier ♪Etude was able to sense tremendous power emitting from that woman. Since she seemed to be the bigger threat, it would be best to take her out first. He charged towards her and begins striking at the shield in hopes of breaking it. ♬ Where am I?: Forte City

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" Medley started when Etude ran towards the shield, only to receive the same kind of shock she had when she tried to escape. Singed hand by her side she edged away from the side of the them? They hadn't been involved in the fight...

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" Medley cried out immediately darting backwards only to start forward again when she collided with the back wall of the shield. It was if it was made purely from some kind of static. Twisting her neck around she saw that her clothing was slightly singed. Looking back at Etude she stared, a little frightened- he sure was powerful...what would happen to her and Nikolai if he broke the shield?

"I don't know, but he looked like he was about to attack again...."Medley admitted with a soft sigh, trying to cast some sort of healing spell on her singed body, a small glow emitting from her fingertips- flickering then fading away. Perhaps the shield was restricting her magical abilities..?
