Hoody approached the back of the mansion via the alley, then moved into a bush right near the rear access gate.
While there was the servants access and what had once been a herb garden, there was also a first floor veranda decked out for guests to take in the sight of Durem by night in privacy.

And it was to this balcony that Hoody was trying to sneak, in order to place an audio-video bug to spy on those who may use it. This would involve avoiding the few servents moving about the ground floor, giving the man brief pause while he tried to work out the best way over the top of the spike-topped iron fence.

This was getting him no where and fast. Sure enough Corbin had learned that for some reason these buggers were interested in the occupants of this mansion. That however wasn't a part of his mission.

Perhaps, however... Maybe he wouldn't have to be so forward with his deception as he had thought a moment ago. This could work. It had to.

Complete silence he went into complete invisibility mode rather than earlier. Tracing the hoody to the bush and access gate, he waited, then followed and upon seeing the boy attempting to set up his spy tech, made his move.

Checking the fit of his gloves as he fell over the bush and into the grounds, the wake of the hoody, he pumped celerity and was behind the bouy before he'd have a chance to turn and notice.

Brashly he'd grab the boy by the back of his pants and yank him down from the veranda.

"SHHhh!"

He made sure to turn the boy and push him against the wall, making eye contact as quick as possible. It was possible this, was going to result in a defensive sting from the boy at first, but he was prepared to decieve that away if he couldn't hide it, and with his appearance, he planned for the hoody to not continue immediately with an attack, giving chance for...

"Oh my, the city looks lovely this time of night."

A female voice directly above them on the veranda, accompanied by two sets of foot steps.

"Come now, dear."

Nothing elaborate, just a woman, then a man ushering her on, and the sound of footsteps travelled away back inside.

Having just got his bug in place, it was a slight understatement to say that the hooded youth was surprised by the sudden and completely unexpected tackle from the rear, which would indeed have made him yelp, had it not been for the fervent 'shh!' Corbin issued.

Glaring silently at the man as he heard voices above, he did NOT even whisper, but did very clearly mouth the words.

"Who the ******** are you?!"

That said, he was also interested in the voices above.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 11:29 am

Eye contact assured, Corbin then took a second to glance up with his eye, keeping his finger pressed against his lips in the 'shh' gesture. The 'voices' vanished, and after a few seconds he finally gestured for the hoody to drop down just as Corbin himself crouched.

"Patrick. I'm a local errand boy, barely see any real work since becoming an initiate. I followed you here, wasn't going to get involved but you nearly got caught there."

He spoke barely above a whisper, Keeping an ear out it seemed for anyone else that might have been out on factual, or fictitious strolls.

"Lets move."

Deigning not to take up the issue here, under the balcony of the enemy, Hoody returned the way they had come after the voices departed, slithering back into the safety of the bush.

"So. You must be one of the kids Madden rounded up. You can tell me your story in a minute."

Fishing a small handset out of his jacket, the hooded youth called in to his mates after turning the unit back on.

"Fraiser, Boyle, its in position. Are you recieveing signal?"
"10-4 Mitch. What's your 20?"
"Rear of the house still. Rendezvous at tower in ten."
"10-4."

The brief exchange of information over, the man now identified as Mitch nodded to 'Patrick'.

"This way. And you can tell me how you got caught up in this mess."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 11:42 am

Names were messy. After all, he wasn't Patrick and the same could easily be said for this 'Madden' bloke. If there was such a person as he described by ANY name. He'd have to tread lightly around the subject. For now though it seemed that his tale was being accepted. Enough atleast that 'Mitch' was willing to communicate with his buddies freely and not use anything that could be considered a code for being compromised. Besides tower atleast, but that was unlikely.

He'd followed without question, acting very much the lesser, the lower rank. Eager even in his acceptance, much as his character would he imagined. As if Roan had told him after much debate to follow him in to that icey prison to rescue the man he'd seen there.

Nodding at the command to pull out after radio contact, he followed, and spoke cautiously.

"Like I said, I barely get anything that is above what we'd call clerical work. I want the field, like you. If they found out I followed you like this... I doubt any one would be pleased."

"Clerical work? Then that just leaves one question... are you a believer, or just a pay slave?"

Stopping as they neared the clock tower, Mitch rounded on his eagerly following shadow, a hard look in one blue eye visible under the lip of the hood.

"Why'd you get initiated? What happened to you? We all have a story as to why the Society needed us... except the guys who only care about getting paid for pushing papers.
Hope you've got a story kid, otherwise people will be a lot worse than ;not pleased' with you. You tell me your bogeyman story, I'll tell you mine."

Damn. This b*****d wont let me dance around the details, will he.

Of course not, ignorant boy. They devote themselves entirely to their faith, and duty. Their charge everything to them. Your ill-concieved nonsense wont fool them so easily.

Shut UP. You're the last thing I need sticking its ugly head out right now... Actually...

Some truth ALWAYS made a story, more compelling.

He didn't seem terribly willing to tell. Though it was evident. It didn't seem for lack of a story or truth, but rather genuine reluctance.

"I, don't really want to hear your story. But if you have to know mine, if it'll help convince you to keep this from going against me. My family, and a lot of other people were killed by something. My mother murdered, and my father driven... mad. It was a woman with red hair no, some creature, a monster. Hair an unnatural red, a tail. I don't know what it was."

"Red haired woman? Could be nothing more than just a murder... people are pretty horrific these days themselves... but you wouldn't be around us if that was the case.

I'll mention it to Boyle. He might know something."

Finishing the walk to the clock tower, Mitch had all of two minutes to wait before his buddies showed up. He neither told 'Patrick' to stay or go, letting him make his own mind up.
The other two cocked a brow however when they spotted the newcomer.

"Who's he?"
"One of Madden's clerks. Gave me a hand. Did you get any footage of who came to the balcony?"
"No... a brief flick of static, and now its giving us properly clarity. Didn't see anyone though..."
"Might have just been the unit setting up. You two see whoever was up there?"
"No, the kid should have though..."

Three sets of eye on 'Patrick'....
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 12:23 pm

Balls... They were watching. At least they didn't see him using Celerity. They wouldn't be talking to him now like this if that were the case. When someone moves as fast as he had, it would have been easy for them to consider him non-human.

"I, didn't get that good a look myself. Was more interested in getting this guy out of sight. There was a blonde woman, and the man I didn't actually see, just a shadow behind her. I only have the one eye, after all."

He then regarded Mitch again.

"And It should be noted that when I say 'mad', I mean he tried to eat me. Like that creature did the others... She did things that weren't human."

"Alright. Better head back with us kid. What'd you say your name was?"
"He's Patrick. Sounds like his story is a vampire. Thought you might know something Boyle."
"Maybe. Lets get out of here first. I want a photo fit for the woman you saw, Patrick, you can do that while I check in with Dylan about the girl we've got. Then I'll listen to your story. Lotta vampires in these parts. Too many."

Boyle spat, then nodded to the others and they headed back towards the church, though in time, they'd pass it and head on instead towards the residential district. A small time shopping arcade had sat here once, but had closed down in the recession, and it was into this small enclosed row of shops that the others would lead Corbin, intent on getting some details from him abut the woman he'd seen.
As soon as they entered, Boyle peeled off, off to sort his own errands, while the others would take 'Patrick' to a grizzled old guy who would basically perform the police photofit procedure with him. Downside? A poster of the Von Helson sisters sat on the back of the door to the room, covered in dart holes.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 12:58 pm

Inwardly VERY pleased that they avoided the church, as things wouldn't go well for him in there, he waited to feel the same sensation if it was to be, in this abandoned mall location. Approaching, and entering Corbin was careful not to look too unfamiliar with the location. Who knew if this was a place his character had been or not. He had to however try and take note of anything and everyone he saw there. How many of their faithful were there, and what did they have access to. Were there weapons, or stocks of anything on display?

He'd also have to try and remember the layout, to show Roan later.

He remained quite, careful not to get himself into more trouble, it would appear. And as he was introduced to the sketch artist, he wouldn't be forward with contact even with his gloves. This was dangerously close to the sort Roan had warned him about. Older, but would he be capable of seeing through the illusion.

He took note of the poster as the door was closed behind him, and with the name, recalled who they were. He'd after all since been here, read a little. When Roan found him he knew little to nothing about Gaia, but since had watched news a bit, and as stated, read about the continent. He'd heard of the Von Helson sisters, and it all started to make sense a little. That must have been THEIR mansion.

Blonde, great. He had to say blonde. Well, it could actually work in his favour.

So he'd go on, and tell the sketch artist what he had 'seen'. A blonde woman that could have easily been either of the Von Helson sisters. He never once used the name though, and avoided describing the clothes as the same depicted in the poster.

"It was all so quick..."

He'd stick with that. A different vantage point than Mitch had, and he saw the shadows on windows approaching, and leaped into action before thinking it through more thoroughly.

"Sorry, I'm not much help, am I?"

There WAS a feeling of faith about the place, a sense of discomfort, but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been at the church, on truly hallowed ground.

"Eh, you did good enough kid. Proves that at least one of the two horrors is in residence at present, though I doubt still these are the source of the cities problems. They don't have the common sense. Anyhow, it'll get forwarded upwards."

Shrugging, the older man left the room, while Mitch made coffee for everyone else. Twenty minutes later, Boyle reappeared. He didn't hang about.

"Tell me about your vampire."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 2:14 pm

Perfect. He had been worried, that they instead KNEW, that niether of the Von Helson sisters were there at the time, and he would be found suspicious. That was still a possibility however the longer he could stick around, the more fruitful his efforts were likely to be.

And on that note, he was queried on the vampire his character was horrified by. Incidentally, he'd of course described Roan. At first, it seemed like again a mistake, but he had a goal. Something could still come of this even if he didn't learn enough about their operation.

How much did they know, about Roan?

Accepting the coffee he'd take a shy sip to test the temperature, then blow on the hot beverage before going on.

"It... Was a monster. You said it sounded like a Vampire, but I'm not so sure. The things it did. Can Vampires really be that powerful? But, i'll tell you what I know."

He'd then go into detail about Roan's appearance. Just, her appearance. He'd describe her facial features such as scars, her build, and the size and shape of her sword, though never mentioned the Daemon, or lightning. If queried on abilities he'd come to that then and there, and try not to give away more than they already knew.

Boyle made notes. Pen and paper, and apparently he knew shorthand. Professional shorthand. This allowed him to keep eye contact with Corbin regularly, asking the odd clarifying question here and there.

"Yes, they can be that powerful. Sounds like someone Gabriel mentioned."
"...wait, you've spoken with Gabriel?"
"He wants to see our latest guest downstairs. We spoke. I think we're going to be here for a while."
"He say why?"
"If this guy is talking about the same person... its the woman."

More eyes on Corbin. Apparaising.

"You know where this woman is? Anything else you can tell us?"
