Sasha smiled at Clarice.
That smile slowly turned into a horrified frown.
"I was just going .. to .."
Her voice trailed off as Clarice left. She turned back towards the penguins.
"Uhhh.."

"Nobody is taking your fish," Jordan informed the aggressive penguin. Though he might have been considering the concept. ... He didn't even like sardines most of the time. Sushi, on the other hand. How long had it been since he'd had sushi? Since before the island, that was for sure.
Now he was even hungrier. He ruffled his feathers sulkily and peered up at Sasha. "Fish?"

Aleister looked around before noticing a hole in the ice, he squawked, and started waddling over to the hole, finally managing to remove any pesky clothing.

Just stay still and no one would spot you, you are INVISIBLE penguin, you are Jerry the Hunter, you are - OH MY GOD SHE THREW ME A FISH how did she even know he was there?? No matter, Jerry hobbled forward, dropping his glasses at Sasha's feet before happily and greedily gobbling the delicious thing of his fantasies down. Aaaah, yes... excellent, excellent. Aaaah, Fish...

"Wait! Wait, no! Come back! Stay!"
Sasha almost tripped over the penguin in front of her, catching herself at the last moment. This penguin must have stolen Jerry's glasses, and Sasha scooped them up before it could nab them again.
"Oh my gosh. Oh gosh, these penguins. Oh goshhhh."
She stared at another penguin that looked rather .. sulky.
"Sit. Sit. Stay. Oh gosh where is that penguin gooooingggg?!"

Jerry's head cocked as Sasha took his glasses from him. He couldn't see WELL but at least he seemed a little less near-sighted as a penguin than a human... he would be alright without them for a bit, right? Sure. He gave Sasha a thankful nuzzle with his beak against her ankle. Wait... where was that other penguin going off to?
Ooooh, that sardine was tasty... but didn't quite fill the void in his heart. "More fish?" He quacked urgently after Al, waddling after curiously.

One fish wasn't enough. It really wasn't. All the fish in the world wouldn't be enough he felt for this little fat penguin body. But the escapades earlier had totally worn down his resistance. His nature sung to the wide open seas, to avoiding being an appetiser, to FISH.
Life was..actually quite a bit easier when it revolved around fish.
Oh and shiny things.
He waddled over to Sasha and pecked helpfully at the trim of her coat. It was disappointingly un-fishy.
Unfulfilled, he followed the penguin exodus, leaving his scarf in the snow.

"No, no no no no!" Sasha was wailing at this point. Slowly but surely the penguins were leaving.
Or watching her with beady little eyes.
Both of which made her uncomfortable.
"No! Stop .. stop biting my coat!" She jerked her jacket's hem up and gave the offending penguin a stern glare. And then the penguin left, leaving his scarf behind. Sasha picked it up and stuffed it in her pocket.
Where these penguins were finding such things, Sasha would never know.
"Nooooo, come baaaaack!!"

Where was everyone going? Was there fish there? Augh, what was happening? It was getting harder to think about things that didn't involve fish.
He was being told to sit and stay. That made him even grumpier. He pointedly turned around and went waddling off after the other penguins. Not penguins. Temporarily transformed hunters, he reminded himself. ... Penguins was easier to think.

And then the penguins were all gone.
Sasha was distressed by this fact, and set to pacing near the hole in the ice where they'd all disappeared to.

Not long had passed when suddenly, the scrawny, scar-ridden Penguin erupted out of the water and into the air, flipper-wings flapping frantically as it landed on it's belly on the snow, positively screaming.
It quieted down to catch it's breath, looking around with a terrified expression before spotting Sasha and waddling for all it was worth to leap into her warm, dry lap.
He was almost eaten... twice and he hadn't been able to catch ANY fish...

:V fish?
The little leon penguin was indeed interested in the fish that was thrown at him earlier. The first semi meal of the whole mission. Even if it was raw. It had omega 3 fatty acids. that should have been a plus, it was like taking a fish oil capsule.
The little gentoo managed to swallow the fish down in one gulp, just the one piece.
It wasn't enough.
But the blankets that the fish lady was nice enough to give was warm, warm enough for him to bundle up in it and squawk at all that came too close rapidly. "THIS IS MY FLUFFY THING, YOU FREEZE. MINE MINEMINEMINEMINE."

Sasha had been morosely seated next to the hole in the ice. She was freezing and vaguely tired and really all she wanted was more tea and then some rest.
Perking up slightly when she heard the screeching penguin, Sasha's eyes widened and a bright smile came over her face. It lasted until the penguin hopped into her lap; at that point, Sasha warred between the urges to scream, cry, or laugh.
She settled for a mixture of laughter and tears.
"You're f-f-freezing! And w-wet! And.. and I was so worried about you s-stupid penguins! All of you a-are in terrible trouble!" Her stern look bordered more on looking ridiculous, but it was obvious she was almost very upset.
She glanced over her shoulder at the little penguin that was huddled in the blankets. At least that one hadn't gone for a swim.

After going to the infirmary to finish recovering and turning in her report about the mission, Syd had heard Sasha's voice--and went towards it, seeing all the penguins.
"Oh," she said, sighing as a headache came on. "Are they STILL giving out those bandages?" she asked as she moved to sit down next to the other girl. She turned, looking at the penguin in the blankets, wondering what hunter that one was. He was very noisy!

Penguins came popping out of the hole in the ice like a small, wet, feathery eruption. The wild ones went waddling away at high speed, squawking at the top of their lungs about PREDATORS POOL'S CLOSED EVERYONE OUT.
There was a pause, then a stripey penguin popped out onto the ice. He stood up, shook the water off, and waddled back over to Sasha, eyeing her hopefully. "We're back. Fish?" (Which, of course, sounded like wark wark wark wark to human ears, but an effort had been made.)
