And so she hung onto the ladder, staring down at the drop below. It looked so far from here ... but that didn't really matter. Not to her and especially not when she was not in the right state of mind.
If she could, perhaps she would like to hang around here for a while ....

Roch raced up the ladder at an almost breakneck speed, bypassing the traps as if he knew them by heart. He'd picked a relatively quiet time, one that had him hoping no one would notice him heading up to the observatory. He wanted to see if the door was still open.
But when he got to the top he realized that there were too many war clan members there for him to even check--without looking guilty as hell.

He might have seen the hint of a shiny, but he ignored it, trucking his way down the ladder again and praying that no one had noticed him.

Mitzi had decided to climb the observation point every day, if she could, for the practice with heights. But now that it was time to climb it for today, she was seriously reconsidering.
She started up the ladder, hand over hand, focusing on the various traps and her final goal instead of what was below her. Or at least, that was how it was supposed to work. However, like had happened to her several times before, a particularly nasty sway of the ladder caused her to make the mistake of looking down.
She quickly closed her eyes, clinging to the ladder, unable to continue, and she did her best to remember the first two times this had happened. She'd been stuck, for a few minutes, but then Roch had been there, and she'd been able to get past it with his help. Deep breaths. She could do this. And she finally managed to continue on, speeding up slightly as she started to feel more confident again.

And then suddenly she was at the top, just like the other times she had made it. She breathed a sigh of relief, taking a moment before she pulled herself up over the edge. She stood up and walked to the center of the observation point, looking around for a moment, but not making herself look down. She still had to make a return trip down the ladder, better not to freak herself out before she did that.

Just as she was about to head back down, she noticed something glint on the railing. Taking a breath to brace herself, she stepped forward, carefully not looking below her as she picked it up. It was another one of those odd tokens! She tucked it away, before returning to the ladder. Carefully, she started back down, relieved to have gotten this "chore" done for the day.

It was now the last day of stay with the Clan of War and Edel was more determined than ever to scale to the top of the Observation Point for one last look over the beautiful tropical isle. By now she was getting used to climbing the swaying ladder so the ascent was relatively quick, but the ghoul was aware of the obstacles that lay ahead.
Edel paused just below the point where the shower of arrows was supposed to happen, waiting for the coast to clear before proceeding. It would be such a pity if she didn't make it today...

A wide grin spread across her face as she triumphantly planted down her foot on the wooden platform of the Observation point. She had made it! For the second time actually, the first time didn't really count given how short it was. The ghoul closed her eyes and let the wind brush past her face, wondering if this was what it felt like to be flying.

She thought she had spotted something glisten on the floor, but that was nothing. Edel wandered about the platform, viewing the island down below from every angle. At that point she needn't say any more. She would love to stay up here for as long as she could.

Muka had yet to master the climb to the Observation Point. The wind was fierce and the weaponry dotting the climb was particularly dangerous. He watched as a horsemen effortlessly sailed towards the top.
Jealous.
