Hiro Kashino My soul is like a broken glass house Shattered into pieces



It was freezing outside. Hiro came in and quickly walked to the fireplace. He passed by the two people making sure not to bump into them and sat criss-crossed directly infront of it.

He raised up his hands shivering a bit. This was the coldest he had gotten. Any colder and he would die because his body temperature is too low. As a pure blooded fire elemental, too low is normal temp for a human.

He raised up his hands and started making the fire a bit bigger and hotter. He sighed in relief as a small amount of fire.came.out.of his mouth and quickly dispersed, just like always.

Syn jerked towards the now larger fire and stared for a moment at the Elemental. The Elemental half acknowledged him but she quickly suppressed it. She did not need to pass out from the blood her body destroyed when the Elemental woke in her.

Shaking her head, she uncurled herself from her seat and reached beside her to grab her large bag. From it she took out her large thermos and poured out some tea to offer to Nash. "Drink. It will warm you up. The joint is probably stiff from the cold."

Digging into her bag again, she pulled out a worm travel compress. Breaking something in the compress, she could feel the heat begin to radiate from it. "I use these for my hands, but they work well on stiff joints and muscles too. Here."

She shook her head and murmured, "Not sweet. Father always taught me, we show kindness to those who give us kindness."

She missed her father deeply, thinking of how when they had gone to visit their icy relatives deeper north, he had taken her sledding, using his flame to make a slick path before them.

"It's green tea with a bit of ginger, lemon grass, and mango honey." she grinned at the complement, happy to see someone enjoy her tea. "Would you like some lunch? I packed a large one before I came to the lodge. Would you like to share?" she asked with excitement. Feeding people was one of the things she knew she could do.

With her scarf around her face again to protect her nose form the cold, her scales rippled at the question. "Well I...I do like to draw and cook. Uhm...sometimes I sing but..." fidgeting, she looked down, "I love to gather new information and um....hunt."

With swift movement, Syn brought out the lunch. There was another thermos of still hot stew and fresh bread obviously made this morning. "I was hoping that I could share a lunch with someone today." she giggled as she poured the stew into two plastic bowls she had also packed and handed the food over.

Before she began to eat her own share, she scooted over so that there was room for the scarecrow to sit, away from the fire side and made him sit. "You being too close to fire, not good." she murmured, making sure that none of the heat had harmed Fin.

After she was satisfied, she turned back to her elvin friend. "What about you Nash? What do you like to do besides horseback riding?"

Syn giggled at his enjoyment of her food. It always made her so much happier to see someone enjoy a good meal. Interested now, she watched him intently as she began her questioning.

"Oh? What do typed of things to you fix? Have you found any places that were worth the exploration?" A small nudge, "And you Fin, do you do anything for fun?"

After a brief pause she gasped and excitedly asked, "Do you know how to build those snow domes that people sit it?!"

At his mention for a love of nature she smiled behind her scarf. "Nature does have a certain allure to it doesn't it? The way it all pulses with life? My mother's people told me that nature it the universes gift to us in good faith that we'll continue to take care of it."

Hiro smelt the food but ignored it for a little. After a minute his stomach started grumbling. He noticed they were eating but he didn't want to bother them.

His stomach started growling louder. He couldn't hunt due to the cold weather and if he walked away from the fire for.too long he'd freeze to death. He had to ask them at this point. He turned around still sitting by the fireplace m and looked at Syn.

"Would it be OK if I get a small bit? I hope you don't mind.

"Igloo? That's what their called then? Hmmm yes those."

She let out a pure laugh of amusement at Fin's reply. He sounded almost like her playful little half brother who had loved to annoy her to the point of near rage. "You sound like my little brother."

After another bite of stew, she happily munched on her chunk of stew soaked bread and sipped her own tea. "How do you build these...igloos Nash?"
