Calder put his flower necklace on the broken castle and shed a single tear for Mr. Starfish. A king without a kingdom.

Lizzy was in the middle of going "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo" when she realized that Calder had taken off his flower necklace - sure, it was for a good cause, but that also meant that his chest was now exposed for all to see. Including her, who had a sort of close up view from where she was currently kneeling. Quickly, she looked away.

Calder noticed Lizzy quickly look away and moved over, setting his comforting hands on her shoulder. "It's okay, Lizzy. I know it's hard to look at." Their poor castle.

Lizzy went stiff at the touch and tried not to stare directly at his bare chest, "Y-yeah... It's... Really hard to look at..."

While Lizzy and him were still on rather awkward terms, seeing her this distressed bothered him. Reaching out, he pressed Lizzy into a comforting hug, trying to direct her from looking at the castle. "It's okay, Lizzy. You don't have to look."

Barth really would have liked to appreciate Calder properly, but social obligations. And fiances. Mostly Calder's fiance. So he just admired sadly from a distance.

... She... He... Man chest... But... Shirtless... Man chest... Why... MAN CHEST...
After the initial shock of having a not-Mac man chest in her face, Lizzy started flailing internally before slowly - very slowly - reaching up and returning the hug - mostly because she didn't want to be rude, seeing how Calder was obviously trying to cheer her up. However, her arms were still pretty stiff and she found it difficult to relax.
"T-Thank you, Calder," She managed to finally speak after a while, her face completely red as she gently released him from the hug, hoping that he'll do the same, "That was really nice of you." She really meant it too; she even made sure to look him in the eye and smile when she said that! Noticing how sad Barth looked, she gestured in his direction, "I think Barth is pretty upset about the castle too... Look at how sad he looks! Maybe he needs a hug too!"
Yes, direct Calder's attention to someone else. That's a good plan, right? Right.

Meanwhile, Amrita had nothing useful to contribute so she amused herself by burying her feet in the sand. OuO~
And somewhere else, Mac was getting more and more irritated for seemingly no reason...how curious!

Calder release Lizzy when he was directed to check on Barth. The poor boil looked miserable, and Calder trotted over with the full intention of nuzzling that frown away, but then he halted before he got too close. Muchadh was watching. Barth's mom was here. Siddie's parent might be, too.
Frowning, Calder reached out and lightly patted the demon's head. "There. There."

Barth tugged his hat down sadly.
"Well. Let's just, err...see about the scores, I suppose. I'm ready to be back in Halloween. It's a bit...sandy, here."
And they'd been out all day. Building and fighting and...familyizing.
"Calder...? Are your family staying somewhere locally? For the err, for the tournament?"

Calder frowned in return, bring his hands back to his side and simply standing there, feeling tied down in place. "All the hotels, inns, and dungeons are full with all the hype with this event. I heard even family members are being asked about the school and how they feel about their kids being here. It's.....getting me worried with....with him here. My parents too. They told me they only came up to check in one me for a visit, and Murchadh came up with some business about some clan we're in good relation with. Something about someone messing with a ship and causing a mess.* They're staying in one of the nearby swamps. Even there it's getting crowded, but they managed."
He breathed out, looking to the side where the spectators were assembled further off. "What about your mom?"
*We know what you did, Savage. The clans do not approve.

Right. So Murchadh would be here for the...foreseeable future. The last thing his mom needed was more reasons to worry, and if she saw his scars...he needed to stay at Amityville a little longer. Even with the hunters, and now horsemen, he needed time to develop some more sellable devices. Things were clicking into place, slowly, but he had to secure Christof's future too. Calder's situation was...well, Murchadh, and Siddie- Life kept handing him sink or swim ultimatums, and all he wanted to do was float.
"Oh? She's- probably not very happy about me almost getting chopped in half by giant crabs, but I can't say I am either. Don't know if she's staying for the event. I expect she is. She'd...be happy to see you, I think. If you have some time later."

"I'd like that. My parents didn't have much of a chance to meet everyone, but I'd like them to come over again and get a better introduction. I just...." He chewed his lower lip a moment, looking back to the crowd and back at him. "I really don't want them to worry during these trials. Being tested and remaining strong is one thing, the ol 'what doesn't make you undead, makes you stronger', but if they get too worried...." This trial was becoming more of a test on many things than just to gain the Horsemans' approval.
"They were really upset to see my hair. Murdadh didn't like that I had my kilt off." He felt himself sinking, but he gave a forced laugh. "Should leave us plenty to talk about at least."
