After they had effectively failed at repairing the castle, the feline let out a soft sigh and glanced around to the rest of the group. "Are you gonna be okay, Xiu?" The feline approached her, a hand resting on the baku's shoulder.
Then... A tentacle rose out of the water, and her eyes widened to the size of saucers. Oh... Oh Jack. "Can't rest too long, it seems." Thank Sally for that starfish. That beautiful starfish. She could almost hug it.
But that wasn't the main concern here. OH DEAR JACK TENTACLES. "This is bad. So bad. But it doesn't matter! We've got to prove ourselves!" Moreover, she has to prove herself. Not just to everyone else, or that man in the stands, but to her. Glancing to the nightmare demon momentarily, the ghoul sighed. "And if you're not gonna do it for the team, do it for yourself."

Xiu smiled up at Riyo, giving a little bob of her head. "I'm fine! I just thought I'd rest a bit in case something else happens--"
Oh Jack what the hell was that.
The baku stiffened, scrambling to her feet as she gaped at the tentacle in horror. You had got to be kidding! Her mouth open and closed, but no sound came out. It wasn't until she heard Hel's cry did she finally move, ducking forward and swinging out a fist in an attempt to drive the thing back.

Titus had been ready for the explosion as Hel whirled on him and started to yell. It only threw him off in the end when she said tentacle.
"Tentacle?" He blinked a few times until he finally absorbed the fact that they were being overshadowed by a large creature and turned to find what Hel was yelling about. "Merde!"
He took a few hasty steps back but just a simple look around told him there was no where to retreat. The damn island was surrounded. "Do it for myself?" Titus sneered at the idea but Riyo had a point. Besides the starfish was doing more than he had so far. Was he going to let a echinoderm show him up? Well, perhaps. His first attempt was rather weak.

Hey, would you look at that? Her leadership had done something, and for once he didn't give her lip. It felt... kinda nice, honestly.
But she wouldn't thank him. It'd only blow back in her face. Insteead, the feline bore her claws and lunged at the nearest tentacle. Soft, salty flesh. Gross.

Once again Titus made a small hit but it only seemed to enrage the tentacle...despite the low blow. It crashed down beside the sandcastle making it a little more unsteady.

Once again Titus made a hit but the tentacle came back around and smacked into him sending the demon into the ground beside the sandcastle making some of the sand topple over top of him. There he laid for the time being.

Things for their castle were not looking good, but Xiu was definitely going to fight this thing to the end.
...Especially because she was worried that it would--whether on purpose or by accident--end up hurting them more than the castle.

WELP.
This...uh. This wasn't looking good...but stopping definitely wasn't a valid option either. Xiu highly doubted that the kraken would simply stop its destructive rage if they stopped attacking it.

Xiu considered leaping onto the tentacle as it swept past and towards their sandcastle, but she quickly decided that that was probably not a very smart idea. She settled for punching it as it zipped past.
...Her fist basically sunk into the squishy tentacle and bounced right back. She wasn't sure if she had actually hurt the thing, but at least it distracted the kraken enough so that it didn't do too much damage to their poor sandcastle.
