Micah had to admit. She was right there with Millie when it came to going over and checking out the meteor. Though... for different reasons. Space had recently become a bit of a fascination for her. What could it tell her about her place as a senshi, since she seemed to come from space. What would it tell her about Acubens, about who she used to be. Her mouth fell open as Millie expressed her excitment, trying to find the right words for her master.

"As with you as I am on this one, Master," Micah ventured carefully, tugging on Millie's sleeve. "We should listen to Teach over here. He has a good point. We can't fight off the sith just the two of us."

Kathryn winced as the cat hissed at her before she managed to place it on the ground. She watched the creature scramble underneath the table before she turned her attention back to the bright object in the sky. It was getting nearer and nearer. Kat rounded the table and quickly picked up the cash box from the beverage table. She was worried. The table had been under her watch and she didn't want to lose any profits for the DCAC.

As Kat clutched the box to her chest she began to look around for Regina. The cash would be safer with her rather than to be left unattended. It was at that moment that the meteor made it's impact. The vibrations from the impact shot through Kathryn's feet and made the girl stumble. The cash box slipped from her grip and fell to the ground opening on contact. "Oh s**t."

Kathryn surveyed the ground in the dark and groaned. How could she explain this? Grabbing what she could see Kat pushed everything back into the box and closed the latch before standing straighter. Hopefully she didn't miss anything. Kat walked slowly through the crowd towards the area that she was hearing Regina's voice. The mishap needed to be brought into the open. Kat bumped into one of the telescopes and knocked it over but continued on her path. She neared Regina's position and looked at the forested region beyond. The lure to find the meteorite was strong but Kat had another mission now. "Regina?"

Trevor blinked as a meteor came crashing down, he held his tongue to avoid swearing since little children were present too. He glanced around in confusion. He blinked to get any pieces that flew off the meteor's tail out of his eyes. He stood up and thought for a moment, judging from the direction the meteor's tail it landed somewhere in the forest. Was it normal for meteor to crash land?

He tapped his chin as to figure out the answer. There was a 50/50 chance that it would be both yes and no. He frowned a bit he didn't have any friends that were astrologist or anything of that sort, he would need to rectify that when he went to school.

Connor smiled as his black-headed companion joined him on the grass. What better company than his best gal-friend. They sat for a few moments in silence, just watching the stars. While Hayden was a tad apathetic towards it all, Connor actually secretly still believe in this kind of stuff. After a while, he grabbed her waist, scooting her close enough to touch, then put his hands back on his lap.

"Didn't peg you for a starwatcher," he said with a grin, glancing back out at the crashed meteor. He flinched a little from the nudge, but he said, "Look's like something's happening out there." Something exciting.

He rubbed the back of his neck, leaning back on the other hand. "I know this sounds cheesy, but what did you wish for?" Lots of people were talking about the crashed meteor, but Connor didn't really pay attention. He could care less about some great rock hitting the Earth. He was still alive, so how much less could he care?

Darwin was off in his own little La-La Land until a new, chipmunk-y voice interrupted his thoughts. Glancing over, he spied a little red-haired girl that had apparently claimed Jett’s lap for her seat.

“ Padawan? Like, learn to use the Force to catch squirrels?” With a thoughtful expression on his face, Darwin seemed to seriously consider this. “ Sure.”

Anything else Darwin might’ve said was lost as the meteor approached. The green-haired boy nearly gave himself whiplash when the it streak by overhead, tilting so far back to watch it they he lost his balance and ended up laying down with his legs – still crossed Indian style – sticking up in the air, like he’d been meditating and someone had toppled him over.

Unaware of how silly he looked, Darwin proceeded to tilt his head further back so he could peer upside-down in the direction of where the meteor had crashed and sang croakily,“ Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire~ ”

Lily shook her head at Alex, "who knows maybe he's not maybe he was just trying to get me out of the car, although it didn't really work." She grinned, eyes bright, "still we have to try and see if we can get him to do it again. Maybe get it one tape."

She giggled at Alex's contradicting hopes, "I don't think you can wish for you dog to be normal and not to have an interest in gardening. Dogs love to dig, it like sort of what they do, although its more anti-gardening until you get them trained. Still they will probably still do it from time to time."

She nodded at the comment about names to faces following Alex to the blankets to get settled in. She managed to get settled in time to see a head of blonde unruly hair pointing and squealing making her look up.

"Oh," was all she managed before looking to Alex, "look at that thing." She looked in awe even if she had seen and experience more awe inspiring things.

The meteor hit, Lily felt the vibrations, making her have to grab hold of a slightly panicked Eamon, who tried to bolt.

Eliza was the head of unruly blonde hair that was pointing excitedly and squealing, or at least that how some would describe her enthusiasm. "Look look, it getting close. This is so cool," she exclaimed wanting be closer to the action despite the possible danger.

Eliza grinned feeling the vibration of the meteor hitting the earth and her excitement only increase. She couldn't say much other that the night was so so cool. She wanted to find the thing, but of course that seemed like it definitely wasn't going to happen.

Aithne watched the meteor slam into the forest and wondered if this was a dream. Maybe she was delirious. Maybe this was a dream. People didn't wander out of their homes on a whim and then, bam, meteor crash. What the heck? But then, it was far to early for her to be delirious, and Aithne was neither sick nor overworked. Also, given the fact that half of the other people seemed to be sharing the same train of thought, or something very similar, she was forced to come to the conclusion that this was neither a delusion, nor a bad dream but was reality.

The meteor seemed to release some kind of dust upon impact, not surprising as it had just crashed into the ground. In the crowd, someone sneezed. And then it was followed by a chorus of coughs and then -- and then she sneezed. Aithne suddenly felt sick. It probably hadn't been the greatest idea to come out on a whim, she hadn't even worn a coat! She decided to head home and pop a few cold pills before going to bed. Hopefully the sickness would be gone by then. She didn't want to be sick for school.

[Roll for Gigi]
Gigi peered out into the darkness at the sound of her name. He was hard to see after staring at the bright lights, but the ‘miss’ was a bit of a giveaway, as was the long dark hair.

”Ariaaaan!” An enthusiastically waving arm shot up from the little blanket tent, disrupting other stargazers as she immediately beckoned her friend over. “Isn’t it awesome? Here-” she shook off the picnic rug in a tangle of pigtails and smoothed it back onto the ground so Arian could join her if he wanted.

When she looked back to the sky, the meteor was very close indeed, like a 3-D movie, pulling scare tactics on the audience. But there was no screen to this show. The teen found herself inching backwards on the newly-spread rug, though obviously it was perfectly safe. The city council wouldn’t have allowed a whole picnic thing if it wasn’t *safe*. She shot another glance at Arian to see if he was worried.

Oh, it was breaking up. Oh, it was… so close! The impact startled her almost to her feet.

“Omigod. Was that supposed to happen?”

In his anxiousness to find a seat for the meteor display, it seemed Tomlin had missed a vital part of the proceedings – people brought dogs to parks. Dogs that would, through no malice or ulterior motive (or any higher intelligence) chase a cat like him. The sudden barking was some way off, and he tensed, looking for the best out. Back onto the table still seemed like a good bet, though the women in charge were still nearby. Fortunately, it quickly became apparent that the pup was both leashed and well-attended. The cat’s sharp eyes noted the blond head, but ultimately there was too great a distance to go investigate, too many picnickers, and perhaps most importantly now he was paying attention, other dogs about.

He paced beneath the table, wary, but it seemed no-one was intent to drag him out, and the dogs remained under control. Above, the bright meteor was still falling in full splendour, pieces breaking off. For some reason, the beautiful sight suddenly made him uneasy.

Despite the dangers of being seen, the guardian cat slunk out from beneath the tables, between human legs, his furry head turned up, gaze not wavering from the shattering meteor above them. There was something more to it than rock and gas and fire. He felt it but couldn’t name it, and the short ginger fur along his back ruffled up in concern.

((Rolling for Jade.))

The cat was off the table and it was good. Jade pulled out a napkin and quickly wiped wet pawprints away from the table's surface. Her attention was drawn up however as 'ooooos' and 'aaaas' rose up in volume. Something big was happening.

The sight of falling meteor was a surprising one. She might got worried but that wasn't visible. The only reaction she gave out was arching her brow and frowning a little. If the meteor would hit, it would hit hard.

And so it did. The ground vibrated under their feet, surprising Jade as well. With an instinct, she reached towards coolers that held drinks inside, trying to keep them in balance.

--

Cora's pink eyes followed the falling meteor with both awe and a little bit of fear. The light coming from it was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen but there was something that made the guardian cat nervous. Ainsley could feel Cora's fur standing up a little bit and her tail swinging from side to side. She started meowing repeatedly in a manner that could been only described as panicked.

“How have you been?” Luckily for Arian the girl under blanket was his curly-haired friend from school thus sparing the dark-haired teen the sort horrendously awkward embarrassment that went hand in hand with mistaking total strangers for someone familiar.

At Gigi’s offer to share her picnic rug, he called out “Just a second” and took a few moments to retrieve the blanket and the remaining brownies before spreading it out next to her blanket. As he sat down he responded to her earlier statement “It looked almost magical with them...” voice trailing off as he looked up to see one of the meteor’s breaking up before feeling the vibration in the ground as it made impact. Arian couldn’t help let a surprised “Wow” quietly escaping his lips, staring at Gigi before adding “No I don’t um think so.” Meteors hitting the ground was kind of something that happened in films or stories – not real life.

Gwen was enjoying her time with Anming and her hot chocolate, and she immediately regretted not paying attention to that meteorite when it finally made its presence known to her, and everyone else in the park. She instinctively shifted closer to Anming, hoping to pull her out of harms way in case there was any debris that made it to the park, but it seemed that her imagination got the better of her. She sat up onto her knees, trying to look over the other stargazers in hopes of seeing where the meteor had landed but to no avail.

"It's no use... all I see are a mountain of legs!" Gwen exclaimed to Anming, sitting back down and finishing the last of her hot chocolate. She looked to Anming, trying to speak over the small commotion going on around them. "You've been living here all your life, right? What other natural catastrophes happen here? You got monsters, Power Rangers, and now meteorites."

She was, of course, joking, though she had no idea how things really were in Destiny City, nor how stranger things were going to get.

"No, if he were trying that it filed. Though I'm sure it was worth it really, considering you seemed to have enjoyed your time back in the car." Shaking his head, a smile in place. "Or on video, you could of course post it up on youtube, like how many other people do." He added with a bit of a shrug. "It might even get a lot of views." Though with how many similar videos were up on the site it may not.

"That would depend on ones definition of gardening. Making holes doesn't count, unless it's followed by planting a plant or seeds and caring for them. I have to hope he doesn't decide to anti-garden by digging up plants." Though thankfully most of his plants were in the green house, which he could keep Cadha out of it the pup proved to be an anti-gardener.

"I don't want the work I've already started putting into the garden in the backyard being dug up. I have to go plant shopping as soon as the nursery's start getting plants, I think I have an idea of what I want to do with the flowers beds I've put down. He'd already gone to work, once he'd moved in, on cutting up a design for flower beds. he just needed to wait for spring to fill them with flowers.

Glancing up, his thoughts pulled away from where they'd been wandering. "It's close...I think something is wrong." He said suddenly worried and yet unsurprised by this turn of things. "It's going to impact..." He whispered sure of his words. And then it did and the vibration went up his body, making him want to run off toward where it had landed.

"I think we should get the dogs in the car and come back and see what's going on. But just in case...for the dogs." Cadha didn't seem as affected as Eamon, though it could be that he had Cadha in his arms tightly held.

There was nothing more the nerdy brunette woman enjoyed more than a dashing gentlemen coming to her aid. So Iouri was not quite a knight in shining armor, but Regina appreciated their shared passion in securing the integrity of the site and the safety of others. Previously her head was full of ideas of bringing him a coffee, but with what everyone had just witnessed, going on a crusade to protect the interests of science was much better.

Extra help was by far appreciated as well. The crowd around her and Iouri was hard enough to handle, as so many people had edged their way close trying to get a glimpse into the forest. They would be unlikely to see anything at all, but curiosity was a huge draw. “I know you all want to see what it, but really for your own safety wait for the professionals!”

When Kathryn came up, Regina was pleased, thinking that she had come to help barricade the forest and deter people away. Though the expression on Kat’s face told Regina that wasn’t the case. “What is it? Everything all right? I know this is quiet unexpected!”

Sirens could be heard in the distance. Maybe the police or fire department was coming to take care of the situation!

Dropping her guard to see if she could see flashing lights, Regina momentarily let her sight off of those around her. Many people were finding the lights and siren to be a distraction of opportunity and also a burden. If they wanted to get in to see the meteor before it gets carted away, there was only one thing to do, power up and out run any officials and the sirens.
