Alex watched hopelessly as Michi took off to do some shopping before he could even get within ten feet of her. She moved too fast for him to keep up, so with an apologetic look at the others, and a small 'wutdoyado' hand gesture, he tried to follow after her. After all, she had invited him to this festival. He would feel awful if she ended up unhappy because of him.

She had stopped to look at some jewelry at one stall, and that was good, because it gave Alex a chance to catch up to her as she paid for the item she had chosen. "I like it, should look really pretty on you." He smiled, coming up behind her and reaching out to put hands on her shoulders. Oh but she looked angry, and Alex had no idea how to deal with angry ghouls, let alone ghouls like Michi who seemed to be slighted by the smallest of things.

"So uh..I was wondering.." He leaned closer to her, having to bend down quite a bit to talk quietly in her ear, "If you might want to go on a date with me sometime?"

Ok, so he hadn't exactly intended on asking her out, but he felt bad, and she seemed to like him...so it only stood to reason to the zomboil that she might want to give it a shot, right? But even as he said it, he wanted to turn and look behind him, for his friend. He knew what Yin would think, he knew that the weremantis would assume Michi was 'choosing' Alex, but there was nothing he could do about that right now.

And who knew? Maybe Michi was the right type of ghoul for him. Maybe she could provide the distraction Alex needed. He didn't exactly have strong feelings for her, but he did think she was rather adorable and a lot of fun to be around. Asking her out on a date...it just felt right. It just felt like something he needed to do for himself right now.

"I like it, should look really pretty on you." Not that she needed his opinion on it, but of course it would. Gold always looked good against her skin, and depending on the shade of red it looked good too. The smoke demon frowned slightly when she felt cold hands on her shoulders. Pinning her down so she couldn't go to the next shop? She pocketed the jewelry before he spoke, and reached up to remove his hands. Boils.

"If you might want to go on a date with me sometime?"

Oh... that was... oh.

She blinked several times, honestly startled by the suggestion. Let's face it, Michi had been flirting with him (by most other standards, a lot), but her mind had yet to go to date because well... she wasn't sure why yet. They had only hung out twice now, but Michi had been too excited about the festival to really think any of this through. Of course she was now too startled, and distracted, to remain angry in any sort of way (all forgotten). She smiled and instead of removing his hands patted them softly.

"That sounds wonderful Alexander. I'd love to go on a date with you!"

She really was instantly happy. Her first date at Amity. A date did not mean dating for Michi (she had a pretty strict three date rule about this), but a date was typically always fun. She'd have to pick out an outfit, and hopefully they'd do something fun. She turned around and smiled right up at him with one eyebrow raised. Ah, she really did like the tall ones.

"Just tell me when and where when you figure it out."

He had done the asking after all. If Michi had asked, she'd be the one planning the date. Oh, wasn't this a wonderful turn of events?

Xiu blinked up at Yin in surprise at the thanks, before her lips spread into a big smile. "No--I'm just happy to see that things worked out between the two of you! I don't want to see you guys frown anymore--more of this, okay?" She pointed to her own smile, and then turned back to the rest of the group as they finally drew near.

Since it seemed Alex and Michi were talking, the baku motioned to beckon Mort towards where she and Yin were. "So, you've tried some of the food, Mort? There's a lot to choose from!" Aah, Xiu loved the Lunar New Year! It was nice seeing so many familiar and tasty foods! Though...

Sighing, the ghoul pressed her hand against her cheek again, the corners of her lips turning downwards. Seeing the celebration honestly made her feel a little homesick. Usually around this time, her parents and her uncle would invite all their other family members over for dinner. They would spend the days before the dinner making a variety of foods and...and...

Xiu perked up suddenly at the word "date". Curiously, she cast a glance over towards Alex and Michi, eyes wide. Oh ho, so those two were like that?

Yin opened up the bag of meat sticks that he had still be carrying in one hand and pulled one out, sampling it cautiously and then quickly and efficiently devouring it. At the mention of more trying food he held the bag out to him. "Miss Xiu-Ying purchased these earlier, and they are quite tasty. Perhaps you would like to try one as well?"

He finished with his and tossed the stick away before he looked up to see where Alexander and Michi had gone off to. Alexander had his hands all over the ghoul, and they both appeared to be very happy over there. Yin felt his chest tighten as he watched and it hurt. For a moment it confused him and he set the bag down, tearing his eyes away from the couple and looking down.

Yes, there were the tell-tale splotches of red coming through his bandages. Apparently his exertions of the day had finally had enough when his muscles had contracted to slide his food down and had opened up his scabs again, two nice sets of finger-gouges on his chest, and a bit farther down where some of the punishing blows had not merely bruised but also split open the skin.

It was nothing serious though, he would have to change the bandages later but the bleeding was not significant to ruin his evening. Not unless it soaked into his shirt and it became obvious to everyone else that he was bleeding. He quickly pasted on a smile, trying not to reveal how pained it was, and picked up the bag to get out another stick of meat, ready to follow Mort and Miss Xiu-Ying to wherever they decided to go to next.
