Was that... liquor bottle clearly labelled Heaven Hills Old-Style Bourbon? What was even-

Behind John's back, Caelius shot Jamisson a look and stood up abruptly, addressing the Death Hunter. "Thank you for your time, sir." It looked for a second as if he had something else on his mind to share, but it was covered with a hasty nod as he grabbed a few more articles of food - including a few choice ones from Andy's selection - before stepping out. "If you all would excuse me."

Life seemed easier on the front lines, when he didn't have to worry for a second about being someone else.

In response to Mya Lucas merely shoved a whopping three pieces of jello into his mouth happily. The group around him seemed alright, several familiar faces. Familiar faces were good, it meant they had stuck around long enough for him to remember them.

His mouth was still full when Cliff held out his hand. He passed his fork over to his other hand, not wanting something to happen to it, and shook it, though his mouth was still full enough that he didn't try to talk. "Doin' just fine" he managed after a moment. "I ain't seen you since that one night with those triplets," a funny look passed over his face for a moment. "Wait, were you even there?" He honestly wasn't sure, it was a bit hard to remember.

Jamisson left before Heidi could retort, which she was fine with. As the Moon leader approached Heidi stood straighter, fidgeting with her coat a minute. He didn't say a word. What was he--eh? Why was he looking under the table?

"Gah!" Heidi flailed and stumbled, whining and flattening down her hair after John had messed it all up. "I just brushed iiiiit." She whined quietly, looking up at John with a small frown. "Understood, sir." Her haaaaair.

Wait! Caelius where--oh no wait. Caelius could leave. Yes! Run free, little Caelius! Frolic and prance like the wild dolphins on her noteboo--OH CRAP! Heidi's eyes suddenly widened as she gasped. "Food! I..I came for food and...crap! Liam's waiting for...gah! Um...I'm sorry, Sir. Is there anything you'd like before I leave I swear I'm just--crap. Um..uh..."

...Was that booze on the table? Heidi gave John a small glance before sloooooowly reaching for the bourbon and grabbing it. "I'm just...gonna take this." She said quietly, clearing her throat.

Somewhat amused with Heidi's reaction, Julio watched as Caelius made another retreat. But what grabbed his attention a little more was the bourbon on the table. Reaching out, he lightly placed his hand upon the bottle, giving her a smile.

"I'll let you have it, for a kiss," he offered, not really minding that the moon leader was still nearby. Besides, he wasn't serious. Was he?

Heidi was a pale woman, so it was easy to tell when she was flustered. Her cheeks? Red as strawberries. "What?" Did he really just..?! In front of John?! Sure, he was nice and all but...but he was a division leader this was not how you behaved in front of a division lead! Heidi looked flabbergasted, hand gripping the neck of the bottle but finding herself unable to pull it any further away from Julio.

"You're not serious." She nearly whined, tugging at the bottle. "Julio I don't have time for this I have to finish my work for Liam."

Help?

Aiden entered the cafeteria with an even expression. Crowded or not, he had something he needed here. Food. It had been some time since he'd had a half decent meal. Now was as good a time as any to have some.

The young man shifted through small groups of people, trying to make his way to a table to eat. It didn't matter what it was, as long as it was edible.

Lee felt rather like they where back in grade school when they all started sharing their names. Ok sure it was practical so if they ended up with each other they didn't end up just shouting 'OI YOU' to get attention. But still. Sharing their ages, divisions and last posting only added to the feeling. Blerg, was socializing supposed to be this awkward?

Still, no one seemed to care that she hadn't spoken up before they moved on so she took that as not being included in this particular conversation. Instead she just kept eating.

Julio seemed amused with the reaction he got. Then with a sort of wistful sigh, he let go of the bottle and shrugged.

"Very well. I'll just have to bother you about that later on then," he smiled. Sitting up a little more straight, he went on to continue eating.

(( ENTERING ))

Melynda Jackson strode into the cafeteria with an expression on her face that might seem a bit foreign to many of the others there - happiness. And not only because she was about to get decent food, or something like that. This was genuine delight in the world, in being alive, and so on. Or at least, that's what it looked like. In all honesty, the twenty-year-old Life Hunter was a bit nervous, and a lot scared. Nervous because of the suddenly yank from her current mission, because she didn't know hardly anyone in here, and just ... being back on the Island in general.

She had some good memories of this place, all of her training, her naive assumptions that she'd be able to save the world, become some kind of Magical Girl hero... make friends and form awesome teams that no one could beat. But time after time, she'd failed in various ways. Most of the friends she'd known were gone now, broken and dead. The world was still a horrible place, and monsters still plagued human-kind. None of her dreams were going to come true. She knew that now. It was more likely that she would die in some backwater, broken down corner of a city than make any kind of real difference. But she had to hold onto the illusion as hard as she could. If she didn't, she might break.

Shaking her head to banish such dark thoughts, she grabbed a tray and picked up at least one of just about every food item there was, then stood up on her tiptoes to look for a seat. Or failing that, a likely 'victim' to sit by. It didn't take her very long to spot someone by themselves, also apparently seeking a seat. And with a grin, she half-walked, half-bounced her way over toward a random guy who didn't look all that much older than she was. "Hi!" she chirped happily, suddenly at his elbow. "I'm Melynda, but you can call me Melly if you like. Mind if I join you?"

It seemed that Zoey's rebuke had done nothing to keep Cliff from being... himself. Typical. Isaac doubted anyone could stop Cliff from doing what he really wanted, and while that was usually a worrying thought, tonight it was downright taxing. His brown eyes trailed over those who were introducing themselves at the table. They'd all been gathered here for a reason tonight; every single Hunter, it seemed. Isaac was not particularly smart, but he was damn good at his job, and he knew when something big was going to happen. And in Hunter terms, that could only mean very real danger.

/Is it finally time?/ he thought darkly to himself. Kyanos did not answer.

"Amy, Mya- goodbye Mya..." he offered her a wave, knowing she probably had her reasons for leaving.

"And Lucas, was it? It's great to see you all, new and old faces alike," he supplied. Hadn't there been someone else (Lee) that hadn't spoken up? Isaac looked around but wasn't sure, and his brown face had sobered a little, the scars making him seem tense and drawn-- despite the humor of watching Lucas chase around jello with a fork. Hey, he understood-- ketchup was a delicacy, and he was going to damn well enjoy his small mountain of it.

"Wait-- triplets? What trip... ugh," Isaac groaned. He didn't want to know what Cliff had done with Lucas, or triplets with Lucas, and he felt sorry he asked.

"Just. Zoey, are you doing all right?" He turned back to her and to his meatloaf. He was watching Cliff fish around for a fork out of the corner of his eye, until he finally stuck his own like a triton of ketchup into his friend's plate. Or perhaps it was Excalibur, if he was now nicknamed Arthur. He may have felt somber, but Cliff always knew how to cheer him up by being a dolt.

Isaac smiled. "You know I just got back from a wet and cold piece of rock... that I had only just arrived at. Miserable place. I'm almost sad I had to leave."

((ENTERING))

He knew what he wanted upon entering the cafeteria. Reuben got his tray and went down through the selection til' he found meatloaf, some mashed potatoes, and an assortment of vegetables and got himself a heaping helping of each item then he paused only for a moment for Remy to be able to catch up to him unless he managed to lose her on the way here.

The moment would pass as he knew where he wanted to sit too. It happened to be near where another Hunter sat.

Hopefully Aiden didn't mind large, friendly company because he suddenly had some.

"Food~," he said blissfully as he sat nearby whether or not he was invited to.

He..he didn't make her do it. Oh thank god. "...Thank you..." Heidi said quietly, slowly lifting the hand that held the bottle away from the table and the teasing mist hunter. "Right..okay..."

The lack of food was messing with her head? And even then she left without food. Sigh. Way to go, Heidi.

Aiden blinked inr esponse as his side was nudged, looking down on the young woman who decided to join him. "Hello.. Melynda." He murmured, prefering to use her full name. After some more looking he found a spot, taking a seat at a relatively empty table. "I don't mind. You're free to keep me company. I'm Aiden."

His attention was pulled from the nice woman to a large man who'd sat with them all of the sudden. "Food, indeed." He answered absently after scanning his own tray. The sullen young man began slowly eating his meal, not being much of a talker himself.

Oh yay, someone else was joining them too! Leaning around a little bit, Melly tilted her head to peer up at the rather larger man who had also sat down. "Hi, I'm Melynda! Or Melly if you like that better," she said with a grin. Picking up her fork then, she proceeded to mix a bunch of the things on her tray together into what looked like an unappetizing mess. Then she stuffed it into her mouth.

"Ohmygod this is so good," she mumbled around the mouthful of food. Thankfully, she did swallow before talking more. "Where have you guys been stationed? I was out in the middle of nowhere, it was so boring."

Cliff's expression turned genuinely surprised as Lucas spoke up, his eyebrows lifting in a curious manner until he realized what the other man was talking about, grin promptly returning. Leaning back a bit, he laced his fingers together behind his head, tilting his head back and closing his eyes, as if remembering a particularly pleasant memory, "Mm, triplets," he replied in affirmation, nodding slowly with a smile, unlacing his fingers to fold his arms on the table again, "Talented bunch 'a girls -- do they still send you pictures? I had to tell them not to send postcards, the guy delivering 'em kept giving me weird looks." It was really hard to tell if he was just trying to string everyone else along, or whether whatever he was insinuating really did sound as suggestive as he made it sound. More than likely, probably the former, all things considered.

Laughing green eyes swiveled slowly across their motley crew, Cliff's eyes finally settled on a particularly quiet girl who seemed pretty intent on her food, watching her eat for a few quiet seconds before speaking up. Leaning in closer across the table, the blonde southern man dropped his voice lower, offering Lee an apologetic smile. "Ma'am, I hate to be rude, but I think you're using my fork," he teased a little -- clearly the apologetic look had been preemptive for the tease. Apparently, he was going to milk this fork thing for all it was worth.

Except Isaac already knew all his tricks, and as usual was one step ahead. The squelching sound of his utensil being stuck into the mash of food on Cliff's tray brought his attention back, his head tilting down to look almost upside-down at his mutilated food. Well, ok, it had been mutilated before the fork, but now it had ketchup in it. Leaning back to sit straight in his chair again, he stared at it for a second before turning towards his friend, making a face at him. "Oh well thanks, now you tainted it with your ketchup," he replied, grabbing the fork in his fist and pulling it it out, looking it over mournfully before sticking it in his own mouth. Surprisingly, he didn't say a damn thing about saliva. The question about the triplets, however, was immediately waved off, sliding the fork out of his mouth to stab it back into Isaac's food, grinning. "I'll tell you when you're older."
