As you should know by now, the game introduces the Imperial Guard. The following units are mentioned in the previews or the video interview at Gamespot:

Captain -- Carries a pair of Lighting Claws, and is pretty nasty in close combat, too. Apparently, GW is gonna make a model based off this guy.

Wait a second: Is this an IG captain, becuase you mentioned it among other IG units. Or am I mistaken?
(imagines IG commander with Lightning Claws)

Last time I checked Lightning claws were strictly a SM and CSM weapon. confused

Hence the absurdity of it all.

Inquisition armies(Daemon/Witch/Alienhunters) can use them too. So you can even have a Storm Trooper vet. Sergeant with them.

Then again, we're talking about a game where the Space Marine hero carries a Daemonhammer. Special Characters are always exeptions to the rules(re: Yarrick's Power Klaw and Bale Eye).

1. Inquisition armies are different.
2. I was talking about under normal circumstances a IG cannot have Lightning Claws.

"Normal Circumstances" being the operative phrase.

I saw the pics on the first page and it seems Dawn Of War is adding an Epic 40k feelign to it. That looks like a Baneblade Super Heavy Tank.
......... eek

Shibbity if they do that imagine if the Titan Legions and the Orc super Gargants. eek

They would, but they're too big! I mean, you *could* have a titan, but only the legs would fit on-screeen!

And the Baneblade was a nice surprise. I was expecting a Leman Russ, and instead the IG have a super-heavy tank.

True, but yeah the Super Heavy Tank is from Epic. I recognize the design. I wonder what else they are adding in.

Baneblades are also allowed in games for 40K.

Are all forgeworld models permission only? Or just the Super Heavy Tanks and Titans?

Really? I did not know that, but wouldn't it be kinda difficult? I mean a Baneblade and easily outshoot a landraider. Even has more armour plating then it. Hence the name Super Heavy Tank.

All Forgeworld Models require an opponents consent, and I think the release date for Winter Assult is supposed to be the same day that they released the original DoW, only this year.

the baneblade, much like a titan, takes up ONE force organisation chart. As such, it is not used in small games.
