Victio chased after the boy, his dress shoes slipping on the grass wet with morning dew. Victio would never have caught the boy if the boy hadn't been drinking and Victio was thankful for that for the first time. With a short awkward leap Victio tackled the boy bringing him to the ground. Victio struggled with him "Stoppit!" he said "relax!" Victio shouted.

Victio held the boy down "Relax Alphonse, please" He said, lowering his voice and pinning the boy to the ground. "Stop fighting me... trust me, you need to do this, not for me, not for your family, but for yourself." Victio continued, trying to calm the boy. "You are stronger than this."

Victio kept holding the boy down, willing him to try harder and tire so that he would start thinking clearly again. "Alphonse listen to me, if you want the dreams to stop you've got to face the demons that cause them, not run and hide in a bottle." Victio said loosening his grip on Alphonse's arms slightly "Just come back over to the car with me and tell me what happened and I'll take you back to the clinic, I promise." Victio said, smiling down at Alphonse "I am going to let you up now... promise me you will not run."

"You are right Alphonse," said Victio, bending over Alphonse. "The other doctors knew about this they would have tried, but the fact of the matter is they did not know about your brother, this accident, or your involvement in it." Victio said, flinching "The file I received was painfully inadequate, and I apologize." Victio put his hand on Alphonses back "I know this is hard, but I am here for you and will do all I can guide you through what is probably one of the most difficult memories in your life.

"How I found about about it is irrelevant, as is what I may have been able to find out about the accident." Victio said, pulling the boy from the ground to his feet. "All that matters here is what you saw, what you heard, what you felt, what you experienced, and frankly, no amount of research on my part could ever give me a fraction of what you must have experienced on that day." Victio began.

"You have been trying to forget the memory since it happened. It probably started as days of lying in your bed crying, wishing you had done more to save him or wished it hadn't been your birthday. It turned from this to a deep depression in which all other activities. aside from thinking about your brother became secondary. When these efforts failed to give you relief, failed to get rid of the memories and the grief associated with them you turned to alcohol, and with it you have managed to dull your brain and your memories enough to forget that day." Victio said, his voice rising "But your brother wouldn't want this from you, he would want you to accept responsibility for what you did and to forgive yourself, or to accept the fact that you had absolutely nothing to do with his death or the accident and to live your life with that knowledge." Victio continued "Either way is healthy, but both will require you to face the memory and determine for yourself which path is best for you."

"Alphonse, the point here is not to change what happened, the point is to come to terms with with happened." Said Victio, the tone of his voice patient and calm. He watched as the boys face shifted briefly from fear to grief and for a second Victio thought Alphonse was about to tell him what happened, but that face quickly turned back to that of anger and again the boy was shouting at him.

"No Alphonse! The goal here is not to make me happy!" Victio exclaimed, his voice hovering below the line between mere exclamatory statement and angry outburst. "How was it your fault, just let it out, let your soul be rid of it"

Victio stood there, his mouth open. He reached out and put his hands on Alphonse's shoulders. "We all make mistakes Alphonse, most are innocent and cause no harm, others" Victio paused, swallowing "Others take the lives of those we love." "Victio moved closer to the boy... his eyes trying to find Alphonse's'. "But you did not mean to cause your brother harm, what you did was playful and innocent, there was no malice in your heart and i am sure your brother knows that". Victio sighed, looking at Alphonse. "The amount of pain you must feel must boarder on unbearable, but feeling this pain will not bring your brother back, and if you continue on the path you have been walking both of you will die because of the accident, not just your brother." Victio said. "What happened after the accident?"
