Regardless of what Beth had let slip, Aletea missed it. If she had been paying more attention to that rather then being embaressed by Varian's behavior, she would have - but that wasn't an issue. With a wave at Beth, she reached down and took the grumpy little boy's hand before making her way down the hall.

After going the direction that she thought was correct, she peeked into the room.

"Hello?"

Varian, meanwhile, was simply glowering.

"I told you." someone growled. "We are NOT going to discuss this."

"We have to let Shy know, sweetheart."

"But Shy's not here."

"We can still--"

At the sound of the hello, both parties turned, stunned and slightly guilty. One was tall, pastel colored skin and white hair, the other with dark blue skin that took in more light than his black hair.

"Hello." the woman repeated, curious to see who this person was. "What are you doing here?"

Before Aletea could answer, Varian let out a final growl of complaint and pushed his way past her into the room. He felt very ready to complain about his guardian - she wouldn't even let him have a credit card! It just wasn't fair!

But he stopped in his tracks there, staring wide-eyedly at the two people. Normally he wouldn't stop in his tracks like that, but the odd appearance of the two captured his attention very well.

Seizing the opportunity, the guardian spoke, "I'm sorry, I was looking for Shy...I'm here to see him about Varian."

She glanced at Varian then, clearly noting who he was.

The woman was dressed in a loose white robe, kimono style almost, except without the obi. The man, in his white lab coat looked out of place-- but they were both fae, from the tip of their elongated ears to the slight amusement they watched the boy with.

"Varian, is it?" the woman spoke again. "Hello there. My name is Ae, and this is Trojan. We work here, as tutors-- to help young fae with their powers, and their medical evaluations."

Trojan frowned. Why was she wasting her words? "Shy's not here right now." he said, apologetic. "It seems that the dark court is having a field day, because their little princess wants to come down for a visit."

Ae placed a hand on Trojan's arm, as if to stop them. Did these two have any idea what they were talking about?

"Why don't you come in, sit down? Is this your first visit?" she asked this to Aletea- after all, she was the guardian. But her eyes were for Varian. How pretty.

"Yes, it's our first visit. I'm Aletea."

Varian caught himself after a moment, and grinned as he moved into the room. "Do you two work for Shy?" Perhaps he would like Shy afterall, if he had people like this working for him.

Aletea walked over as well, sitting besides him. While the little boy had been distracted, she had caught what had been said...and didn't really get it. Ah well, she'd probably have time to ask.

"We're here for a medical visit, actually. I'd been thinking it would be a good idea to get it out of the way..."

Ae nodded her head. She turned, a questioning look towards Trojan, who nodded.

"We'll get his tutors up." he said. "Every time one jar reacts, Shy starts assigning tutors to them. It's something we choose ourselves, and I know Varian's have been appointed already." moving to a sliding door to the left of the room, he disappeared.

Ae, left alone now, nodded. "It is so nice to meet another one of us." she said warmly. Moving to sit down, she paused, taking care as she eased herself down into the seat.

Varian eyed Ae thoughtfully, noticing that she was indeed a fae. He'd been so caught up by Hmm...Zack had been one too, hadn't he? Well, at least he liked her more then him! He had been too loud for the blonde fae's tastes.

"Ah, so the tutors will take care of the medical visit without Shy then? That's good to hear...I thought we'd have to come back another time."

Aletea noticed that the little boy was - well, being himself. Primping, to put it basely; though he would say he was simply making sure his hair was properly in place.

Ae almost smirked. Watching him she arched a slight brow-- but it was only out of curiosity.

"We do everything that is needed for the fae." she said, nodding her head.

About that time, Trojan rushed back in, scowling as if he had demons chasing his shadow.

Well. Sort of.

One of the fae that followeed seemed to consist entirely out of shadows. Dressed in a white lab coat that seemed to be smudged with fingerprints, he paused, straightened, and nodded his head.

"Varian." he purred.

The other was a woman. A Woman, with curves that seemed to threaten to pull the coat apart, and long hair made out of snakes. Except... somethign was wrong with her skin. Shadows chased across the surface, like...

well. It wasn't good to think about it.

Ae frowned as well, clearly disturbed by the two new tutors. "Varian." she said thoughtfully. "These are..."

((you choose the names.))

((Oh wow, Nae - these two are perfect XDXD

The woman is Dessa, the man is...Zaniel. ))

Aletea was just as uncomfortable with these two as the two they had first met were. And while her little blonde boy seemed to be in awe of the both Dessa and Zaniel, she had different reaction. And when Zaniel purred out Varians name, she had to fight the instinct to snatch up the little fae and run.

Something just didn't sit right with her, about those two...

Yet somehow, none of this seemed to effect Varian. The only emotion present on his face was one of utter fascination - these two were unlike anything he'd ever seen before. And to him, they seemed strikingly beautiful - though most everyone else likely would have been too frightened to think that.

"Hello..." he seemed a bit overwhelmed, actually.

Dessa turned to Aletea, watching her with eyes that seemed to stare with more than one soul looking out from the other side. Tilting her head, she nodded. "Varian." she murmured. "Come with us. We will..." she smiled. "Help you."

Help. It was wrong when the word was used in that fashion.

Zaniel nodded his head, and held his 'hand' out towards the younger one. Whether this was a gesture of friends, or just his way of wanting to touch the little boy... well. It was up to the viewer to decide.

Ae shook her head. She didn't like these two. They were too dark, too painful to look at. So instead she focused on Aletea. "Come." she said. "Why don't we talk while they're doing what they have to do?"

She had seen the fingerprints and faces peeking out from Dessa's skin, and she didn't trust her.

Without the slightest bit of apprehension shown by the others in the room, Varian took the offered hand. He didn't seem afraid of them at all, more fascinated then anything else...which was, perhaps, due to the fact that he wasn't a child known for common sense.

In fact, throw anything that could be remotely considered beautiful or unique, and he was likely to lose whatever semblance of it he possessed.

Aletea herself was very nervous about leaving her child with these two. But - well, they were picked by Shy...and surely he wouldn't have picked anyone who would harm Varian. So the woman gave a reluctant nod to Ae, and followed along after her.

((Hehe XD))

((Of course Shy wouldn't have picked anyone who could harm Varian.

But if he was harmed, then Shy had no idea that the person he had picked was harmful!))

"Please, let us go somewhere else. I hate it inside, it's so...neuseating. And I've been craving that thing you people call pickles with some vanilla ice cream. It sounds delicious, don't you think?"

Trojan followed somewhat unwillingly behind her. He didn't mind the humans, but... well, they were a bit of a nuisance. "Why don't we sit in the balcony, and I'll get the two of you something to eat?"

Ae slid a glance towards Aletea. Yes. That would give her some time to figure out a little bit more about this... guardian. And she wanted pickles. "I don't want them sliced up, okay?" she asked.

Trojan nodded. "And maybe some cookies for yourself?" he asked the woman. He didn't think normal humans were meant to eat such a combination.

((Hehe, I know that. Aletea doesn't, though >.>))

At the first mention of pickles and ice cream, one thing popped into Aletea's head: is she pregnant? That was a combinationg strange enough, that one only heard about it with the strange cravings a pregnant woman had.

"Yes, cookies will be fine," was the amused response she gave to Trojan. To her, pickles with ice cream didn't sound nearly as good as that...even though she normally didn't eat much in the way of sweets.

Another moment passed, and she glanced back at the way they had come before asking a hesitant question of Ae. "...Varian will be alright with them, right?
PostPosted: Fri Apr 21, 2006 4:43 am

Ae beamed at the cookies. Yes. Cookies sounded good too! But not with pickles. HMmm... if she wrapped them up in some kind of ham.... directing Aletea towards the balcony, the second question at her pause, look away, and blink.

Opening the sliding door, she motioned for Aletea to step in first.

"The king of the Unseelie court has commanded that his subjects help the project out in any way possible. They will never disobey their king." she said slowly, and blinked.

Crap. She was so bad at lying.

"But really, I don't think so. They are dangerous, but in the way humans are dangerous with weapons. Their gifts are just... I don't know, another form of those guns people seem to like carrying around."

Something about the first phrase gave her some doubt. Just the way it was phrased...and then she continued, with a less sure statement. Well, that wasn't quite as reassuring as she had hoped.

A weapon, huh? Well, hopefully they new how to properly use them, and had plenty of control. And then she had a bit of curiousity start, at the mention of the Unseelie court. Stepping out onto the balcony

"Unseelie court? Could you tell me anything about the courts?"
