hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki stood and took his plates to the conveyor belt that took them back to the kitchen. "What I can summon tends towards the shikigami of Japanese legends," what he didn't say was that it was due to his father being a Japanese demon, "There are different kinds of shikigami, roughly divided by the four elements, earth, wind, fire, and water though those aren't absolute. For example, Byyako controls lightning and is a thunder shikigami and Kouchin's powers tends towards music and knowledge. Technically they fall under the water and wind categories, but they aren't strictly stuck with just those elements. understand?" he was leading the way to the practise rooms as he spoke. "I personally have more than the usual number of shikigami, which makes me, well, makes others think of me as a threat." he shrugged, "i'm not one for violence. i would rather solve peacefully is possible and try to only fight when i absolutely have to. that doesn't mean i'm a pushover, i just don't like to display my powers." they reached the practise area and Tsuzuki lead Jason to the list. "room number ten is free. do you still want to practise?"

"I see, that is a lot of different things to be able to summon if one could summon them all. I could see how that would be a bit intimidating. At the same time, I think that would make others want to know just how you do it." Jason said about Tsuzuki's ability to summon various demons and the like. "I can understand not wanting to be one for violence, but if it does come to it, knowing what you can and cant do is a good thing, or how to use your offensive magic as defensive. For example. If I can create Ice shards instead of using them to hurt someone I could pin a person in place or create a cage to keep then contained. Freezing them would work as well." When they got to the training rooms hearing that one was open he nodded. "Yes, I would like to practice. Care to practice with me?" ((I apologize I didn't realize you had posted... bad gaia I tell ya.))

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki smiled, "i thought that was the plan. you can practise against me without having to worry about hurting me. since it's the end of the week, how about you push yourself a little. if you start to feel dizzy or sick, stop, but let's see how long you can last until then. you can spend tomorrow recovering." he signed their names onto the paper for room ten and lead the way back to the training space. "i won't use my shikigami unless i have to. your goal is to make me." he opened the door that had a large '10' painted on it and walked into the open space. there was a control panel to the side and Tsuzuki entered in his personal code, uploading his saved settings and turning them on. The room magically fortified itself, making it possible for even him to go all out without worry. "alright," he took off his suit coat and vest, rolling his shoulders a bit as he moved to the middle of the room, "shall we?" he stood casually, waiting for Jason's attack.

Jason nodded and looked at Tsuzuki as the other spoke to him about how he should push himself just to see what he could and couldn't do. He planned on doing just that anyways, though he didn't want to hurt Tsuzuki, he didn't think that would happen though. "You sure this is okay me practicing on you? I don't know what I can do yet and I really don't want to do anything to hurt you." Jason really wasn't sure if that was a good idea, but after seeing Tsuzuki punch something into a keypad it seemed that the room changed a bit. "Uh, Im going to try and do what I did that first day we met." He said before he closed his eyes to concentrate for a moment center himself and get focused on what he was going to do. When he opened his eyes once again he looked focused. Nodding that he was ready Jason held up a hand and wanted to make the ground around Tsuzuki and his legs freeze. The air around them grew cold to the point he could see his breath in the air. Seeing that it was working Jason gave a small smile and though of something else. Going around the other he focused on little shards of ice forming in the air. If anything too drastic happened he was sure that he could heal his roommate. Jason wasn't sure how long he could really keep this up or how long he had actually been at this. ((sorry not the best at the whole fight scene ya know?))

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki watched Jason's tactics and corrected him on occasion. "think of me as someone you want to hurt. don't worry, i'm tougher than you think," he said at one point when Jason seemed to be going a little easy on him. "A ice cage is fine, but only if you can maintain ice. if it is shattered by someone stronger than you, melted or if you are distracted in any way, the cage can be broken." after about an hour, he could see Jason beginning to lag. "ok, a little bit more, you can do it. keep fighting. just pretend someone you love is behind you and you are the only thing keeping them from death." they kept going for another forty minutes before Tsuzuki called it. "Ok, enough," he was breathing a little heavier than usual and his clothing had been ripped by the ice shards, but other than that he was fine. all but one of the wounds he had received had healed on their own, the last being a little frost bite on his toes from when he was frozen to the ground for several minutes. "you did great," he smiled as he walked to Jason, "though i think we should have stopped ten minutes ago. you're endurance is pretty good, considering. now we just have to work on the strength of your attacks." he offered Jason his hand, "you've been working hard, i'm sure headmaster is more than proud to soon have you as a son."

The teen stood there panting and smiled as he leaned against the wall to catch his breath. "Thanks I've been trying to build up a bit of endurance, even if it isn't magical, to be able to last longer and think of just how to fight properly. Did I hurt you at all? I'm sure I have enough strength left to heal you." He had been impressed to watch his soon to be brother fight. It was beautiful. "How hard would it be to keep training like this? I want to be ready to go if need be at the festival and when being introduced." He didn't want to disappoint his soon to be adoptive family and to show those that were attending the festival that he should be there and had earned a spot in their world. "I have to admit I'm pretty nervous about the Mid-Winter Festival. I am worried I won't be good enough, or something might go wrong."

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki smiled softly, surprised at himself that he actually felt affection for Jason. He normally felt very little for others, but here he was starting to feel for Jason the same as he did for the headmaster. "You'll be fine. If you want, we can train a little every night until then. we still have a week until it starts and the festival itself lasts for four days before the ball. We have plenty of time, though I don't think you will have anything to worry about. No one would stand against the headmaster on neutral ground, let alone his own territory. Not to mention surrounded by his people, it would be suicide. The headmaster isn't just strong, he is the king of the succubi and incubi, they follow him without question. Many of his kind will be at the ball and should someone start something, they will consider it an insult to themselves as well as the headmaster and if you need to know anything about a race as vane as the 'ubuses, it's that any slight on their pride will make you wish for death. much like the man who tried to kill me." Tsuzuki held his hand out for his soon to be brother, "let's go take a shower. Any damage done has already healed, no need to waste your strength on that. Next time I'll actually fight back." He winked and picked up his vest and coat, "probably the best thing we can do for you is to help you figure out how to fight your biggest weakness. perhaps i should summon the power of one of my fire gods. that would definitely be a challenge for you!" he turned off the fortifications and walked into the hallway, keeping a sharp eye out just in case. Jason was weakened right now, it wouldn't do to have him be caught unaware.

Jason listened and nodded for a moment, so 11 days before the ball and 11 days he could use for training. Well he started to feel comfortable about the idea as Tsuzuki settled his nerves, or he did until he was told their headmaster and adoptive father was a king. "Wait, what?!" He asked stunned and staring for a moment. "King? And he is running the school?" He suddenly had a lot of questions that he wanted to ask but he didn't know where to start. When he did finally get control of his normal functions he gave a weak laugh. "I shouldn't be surprised." Once they left the training room, Jason noticed his room mate was being a bit more alert. "Worried someone might try to jump us after training?" He asked wondering just why he seemed a bit on edge. Yes, they had the fact there could be danger, but with Tsuzuki there who would attempt anything? The news that they were also protected by the king of the succubi and incubi would also mean anyone planning to attack would be insane to do so. "Let's train a little every day until the ball, at least if we have time. I want to have the basics down just to be on the safe side." As they entered their room Jason sat on the edge of his bed and waved the older male towards the bathroom. "You can shower first, I want to sit for a minute more before I attempt to stand on slippery tiles." Though he wondered if he could use magic in a way to get energy from water and the air around him. That would be something to look into later.

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki shrugged, "Being in charge of a bunch of kids is easier than dealing with a bunch of sex demons," was his response to Jason's shock, "and who better to keep a bunch of different species together that really have no reason to be near each other without war? for the most part our realms have been at peace in recent years, largely because of his work with spreading awareness and understanding of each other." He nodded to Jason's question about if he was worried for an attack, "right now you aren't yet adopted and the headmaster hasn't announced anything, so you are still slightly in danger." They reached the room safely and Jason sat down heavily, "we'll go easier on you next time. i'll be happy to take the shower first. be careful if you do decide to wander around the room." he smiled and grabbed a set of clean clothes as he walked into the bathroom. while under the spray, he spread out his wings, as he normally did. he winced as they 'broke' through their bindings, but sighed once they were spread out. it always felt better with them out. he lowered his head and just soaked in the hot water for a moment, enjoying the feel of the spray.

Sitting on the edge of the bed was fine until he got a little light headed. "Don't go easy on me, an attacker wouldn't if I were in an actual fight Tsuzuki." He might be new to fighting still but he would be damned if he wasn't prepared when it really mattered. Groaning and thinking he just needed some air or something he stood up only to lose his balance and fall hard enough a thud would be heard in the bathroom. The teen held his head. He must have used more energy then he realized or his nerves were draining him. If he was this weak after a training session he wasn't going to do well in a real fight.

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki was toweling off when he heard a loud thud from the other room. In a panic, he ran into the bedroom, forgetting his wings were exposed. "Jason!? What happened, are you ok?" he looked around for a danger, but didn't see anything, just the other boy on the ground holding his head. "s**t-" he swore softly, wrapping the towel firmly around his hips before kneeling in front of Jason. "yeah, we over did it. sorry. let me help you back onto the bed." he held Jason's arm as he guided the younger man to the bed. "need a glass of water? or something to eat? i'm sure I have some energy bars around here somewhere..." he glanced around, not sure where he'd put them or if he'd already eaten the sweet treats. he still hadn't noticed that he wings were out. having them exposed was natural to him, it took concentration to keep the spell up that hid them within his back, concentration he currently didn't have.

Blinking a few times Jason looked to Tsuzuki when the other joined him in the room they shared at first not believing what he saw. Black wings? But wouldn't that make the other an angel? Getting help off the floor the human tried to shake his head. "Pushing myself is what will make me stronger, I'll be fine once I sleep it off." He said reaching out without really thinking about it so his finger tips just barely touched the feathers on Tszuki's wings. "These are beautiful, why do you hide them?" He asked thinking how he wouldn't hide something as magnificent as the black wings the other had. "If I still feel dizzy in the morning then I'll let you fuss over me, you should probably get dressed though. If someone walked in they could get the wrong impression." He said with a half smile flopping back on the bed. "Ow, okay no sudden movements. Bad for head."

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell The foreign feeling of someone touching his wings made Tsuzuki freeze. s**t! He quickly folded them away, hiding them within his magic and back once more. He debated how he would answer Jason's question. Should he tell the truth and explain his ancestry? Or simply brush it off? In all these months, he still hadn't told Jason what he was. "You and the headmaster are probably the only people who would ever call them 'beautiful'," he said softly as he turned away to dress. "if i left them out, it would profess to the world my tainted blood, much like my eyes. I get enough unwanted attention as is, I don't want to draw in more." he hated his wings and his eyes. He'd begged the headmaster to teach him the concealing spell throughout his childhood, but it wasn't until Tsuzuki was attacked and his attacker attempted to rip the wings from his back that the man had agreed. He'd flatly refused to allow Tsuzuki to use another spell to alter the color of his eyes, though. It was one of the few times he'd put his foot down and actually forbidden Tsuzuki from doing something. When dressed, he looked back at Jason and shook his head. "want me to draw a bath for you, or are you just going to wait until morning to wash up?" he asked as he settled down at his desk.

"Well tainted blood or no, which I don't think is possible, I find them stunning. You shouldn't have to hide them especially when your here." Jason looked at his room mate before he looked away. "I doubt I could change your mind or the mind of others but I wish I could." He spoke softly before he sat up and thought. "While I'd enjoy washing off the sweat and blood from training, I don't think you want to babysit me in the bath and it would t be wise to be in the tub alone." Jason was more covered in sweat then anything else so it shouldn't be that bad if he slept like he was. "I hope some day you will be willing to tell me about you, but for now I won't pry into your life." Jason smiled before he let his head rest on the pillow once more.

hated by heaven betrayed by hell alone i stand alone i fell Tsuzuki sat still for a long minute, debating in his head. Should he tell Jason? Of all the people he'd met, Jason was probably the only one, other than the headmaster, who wouldn't treat him any differently. And everyone else pretty much knew? Why not his soon to be brother? Tsuzuki steeled himself before standing up and sitting on the edge of his own bed, facing Jason as the other laid down. "We're going to be family soon, you should know about me." He smiled a little, but his eyes were trained on his hands that he'd clasped together between his spread knees. "I am a half breed. It's fairly rare, not as much so now as before the school had opened. Back then it was unheard of, but now with headmaster's influence it's become a little less taboo. However, my own case doesn't really apply to that. I was born of an angel who'd slept with a demon in a moment of passion. Angels are very strict creatures and hold themselves above most others. for one of them to share a bed with a demon...well, it was mortifying for them. No one would have found out, of course, had I not been born. It was unsure who the father of her child was and it had never occurred to her that it was possible for a demon to impregnate her. But the moment I was born with my cursed eyes and black wings, everyone knew." "It's rare for an angel to get pregnant and every birth is celebrated by the entire community, so there was no hiding what i was. She rejected me outright, went against their own people's teachings and tried to kill me on the spot. Somehow I survived her attack, none of the others present would have stopped her, but when she saw I would not die, she cast me out. I was thrown from the realm of the angels into the demonic realm, I guess she wanted me to be with my own kind?" Tsuzuki shook his head, "There i was rejected as well for having the wings of an angel. They, too, felt it would be best for me to die and left me in the forest to be devoured by the monsters that dwell there." He shook his head, "again, i somehow survived. I have brief flashes of warmth and the sensation of soft white fur. I suppose one of the creatures of the forest took me in, but that's just a guess. The headmaster eventually heard of me, the strange black winged infant that had been left for dead. He didn't hope of finding me alive, but still wanted to offer what was left of me a proper burial...I think he felt guilty because he was on one of his 'conquests' when I first appeared and therefore wasn't there to make the decision on what to do with me. he'd have taken me in, then an there, but as it were he thought that my death was on his hands." "He's told me of how he found me, laying in the forest, playing with the very creatures that were considered dangerous to even the most powerful of demons. he said it was as if i'd tamed them. they'd guarded me against him at his approach, but it wasn't until the king of the forest arrived, that they allowed him to strike a deal. He would be allowed to raise me, but should anything happen while I am under his care, his life would be forfeit to the forest." Tsuzuki shook his head, "the idiot made a blood pack with the king of the forest and brought me here to live with him and teach me how to protect myself." he finally looked up at Jason, "the rest is history, i suppose. Headmaster told me what he'd managed to dig up, which is why i know this much. he wanted me to be aware of my history, so i would be prepared for how others would treat me." Tsuzuki shrugged, "i keep my wings hidden to keep the headmaster safe. walking around with them out will only remind people of what i am and increase the likelihood of more attempts on my life. I am confident in my skills, but even I have limits. I don't want him to be killed because I was being stupid. So, for now, I hide them." Tsuzuki rubbed his face, "but, yeah, that's why I've kind of a reject and how I came in the headmaster's care."
