XxLuinxX SilentShadowDreamer I think the word you wanted was agreement, but I'm sure we could figure out what you meant. Agreeance is a word. It isn't used very much anymore. It is a synonym for agreement. Some people like it and some don't. The more you know.
Dictionary.comYes! I knew there was a reason I hired you... the both of you biggrin

XxLuinxX Question. Can I start doing the search thread thing? Go for it. :3 You may have to remind people not to edit their original post (the title post in the thread) because if they do so after you sticky the thread, the thread will become unstickied. Be sure you create an announcement post explaining the process/rules - which I'm sure you would have done anyway, but I figured I'd throw it in there for safe measure. c:

A rough draft for the Writing Contest:
Quote: April Writing Contest Love to write? Looking to challenge yourself? Looking to win some cool prizes? Then this is the contest for you! Starting this month, the Liteartha Baile Crew will be hosting a writing contest! Contestants will write a short piece inspired by a prompt (supplied by the Crew). The piece doesn't necessarily even have to be related to the prompt, just so long as it's inspired by it. All contestants will post their entries in this thread. The Crew will decide the winner for each category, and whoever wins will win a prize and will be featured in the next month's Newsletter! Sounds tempting, yes? Each entry will cost 500 gold. For now, only one entry per user is allowed. The winners will be announced at the end of month, at the same time as the Tektek and Raffle winners. This month, the prize is: TBD In order to submit a piece, please send a trade to LB Guild Mule. Once your trade of 500 gold has been accepted, you may post your entries. Rules: All entries must be rated PG-13 and below. Must not violate Gaia's ToS. Original work only. This month's prompt: One of the shortest stories ever written was by Ernest Hemingway. Here it is in its entirety: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."Take that factoid and that story and run with it, in any direction you please. Ready? Go.

I'm not sure if we'll be doing categories at all yet - I'd like to see what kind of response it gets first. If there's like three people who enter, it might as well all be one contest.
There's three or four options for who will decide the winners: - Just Spaniard (or just me, I suppose, but I was hoping to be able to join it now and again XD) - The VCs as a group - The crew as a group
If we do do categories, I would agree that it'd be best if people enter one piece per category. If we don't, then I would say that they can enter as many pieces as they end up writing. One prize per person.
Winners would be announced at the end of the month, same as the Tektek and Raffle winners.
I have no idea what we'll do for prizes - I'd like them to be good enough that people will be even slightly interested in doing this, but obviously it has to be within a reasonable price range. Might go shopping on the Marketplace later and see what I can find.
There's no word limit, as long as they're within reason and tell a complete story - a novella is too long, a single sentence (in most cases) too short. Otherwise, they can exercise their judgement. If we get a lot of overly-long or too-short pieces, then we can put in a word limit, but we invited these people based on their literacy. I like to think that with literacy comes some common sense. 3nodding
And it looks great, Talon. I really like it. Thanks for doing this! heart

Man, this looks really good.
Prizes will have TBD for a few days into April so we can gather everything for the other contests. I agree with Silent that for the first contest, we should just include all pieces in one catgory. They can enter a prose or a rant or a poem... but in the end, there will only be one winner.
As for who will decide, I'm for either call Captains voting, or making it an open vote. Problem with the open voting is that we might not get enough responses in time for it to be fair. I don't want the whole crew to vote because then it may seem biast.
If any crew member enters, then only I will judge, that way its fair.
Off to work, will check back up in a few hours.

Hmm. Another possibility for the judging is that we have a rotating 'panel' of judges - three judges each month, and the panel changes every month. That might be a bit more difficult to organize, but we have enough crew members to do it, and that way no one's stuck with having to do it every month - and then any Crew member can join the contest as well, because then they just won't be on the 'panel' that month.
Then the panel can present their chosen winners (and potentially runner-ups) to Spaniard, who can then make the final call on whether this is a fair judgement. She would also be the one to announce the winner.
I dunno. It's a bit more complex, but then it also adds in fail-safes. Thoughts?

If anything, we can ask the more active members in the guild to judge (a jury of her peers, trolololol). We can have a guest judge every month, too.
Still, I think Crew members determining the winner sounds best. I like the idea of a rotating panel of judges. Spaniard should have the final say in ties.
Also, when will we announce winners? When each new Newsletter comes out? That gives us a month to decide, which might be too long.

Well, first people have to write their stories, love... sweatdrop If they're only getting the prompt on the first of the month, that gives them a month to put in their stories. I think we should have three weeks for people to submit stories, and then the contest closes on the last week of the month so we have time to judge the stories. Then we announce the winner in the next Newsletter, along with the next month's prompt.

Lulz, thanks guise. Good work! :3
In other news, Talon has a to-do list. Talon apologizes for her inactivity. She's been feeling a bit lackluster lately, mostly due to the soul-withering presence of her brother, but will muster up the energy to do things by the weekend at the latest. If she doesn't, please feel free to stab her electronically and bug her to no end.
1. Post as Jessica, Zandakar, and.... maybe Sicarius in Classifieds (waiting on the lovely Silencia for Doll Girl and Mena~).
2. Take a gander at the sub-forums, because that's your job, Talon, do itttt.
3. Get to Silencia's PMs, Talon, you a*****e, because she's been waiting a freakishly long time now.
4. Get Classifieds moving. Where da hell is everypony?
5. Plan out the SeeDs role play. I know you don't have time to put it into action just yet (and, due to lack of interest in the guild, you may just have to do it in Barton Town, so you have more role players seeing it), but you can at least make it better, like you did for Classifieds. Of course, you had Silencia's help on that one, but you're a big girl, and I think you can do it.
6. Maybe do something for the writing contest holy s**t you totally forgot about your English homework, and you'd best be starting that now, idiot.
Welp, that's all for now, folks. No I don't know why I was talking to myself leave me alone.

O_o You can if you want. One should have been sufficient, though. Give her until the 25th; if she hasn't responded by then, go ahead and move her thread to the Junkyard and let her know. Thanks!
