Akiraa hummed in her mind thoughtfully. It's not just that... there's something familiar about both of them, she thought. She noticed the odd look Roe shot her way and tried not to giggle. "During my Cho Dan Bo exam... something unusual happened... sorry, if you don't understand, but it's a Black Belt test in Tang Soo Doo.. a flash of odd lavender energy came out when I did the final break with inch thick concrete," she said softly.

Ryuusei tilted his head slightly, faintly smiling. "Depends on your definition of 'normal'... though when it came to normal when I was growing up... let's just say it was often surprising," he said softly. He cocked his head slightly when Akiraa explained the odd occurance earlier that day. He remained silent for the most part, thinking. She may be able to train the way I do... though what affinity she'll have is unknown at the moment; mine is Raiton, Fūton, and Katon, he thought. Kubiro snorted, snickering. She won't be able to handle your regimen... she'll have to start off slower than Uzumaki, he responded mentally. A slight grinding sound gave away that it irritated Ryuusei that Kubiro/Rokubi was being so smug and sarcastic, though he knew grinding his teeth at the fact the demon guardian had picked it up from his own mother wasn't helping.

Akiraa blinked at Aerie's words, though she didn't give any real sign of hearing Roe's words. So it's possible that none of us... pardon the pun, are quite 'human'? she thought cautiously.

Ryuusei cocked his head slightly. "I, to be blunt, don't know if I'm from here or elsewhere... I was ripped from where I grew up and ended up here, though I can assure you I'm no more normal than ryu-chan there," he said, teasing Aerie with the affectionate nickname; he suspected it would either amuse or annoy her, since it usually did the latter to most everyone else. He shifted, pulling out and unrolling a few inches of what seemed to be a scroll before he tapped a marking on it. Almost the moment he pulled his finger back, a small burst of steam followed to show three sheets of thin, slightly brown, paper. "Most people where I came from had usually one affinity for a given element, which varied between wind, fire, earth, lightning, and water... rarer were other elements, such as darkness, ice, or light; in my case... it was a triple affinity rather than a single," he said. A slight ripple of bluish energy flickered for a second around his fingertips as he picked up and held the top piece of paper between both hands. Immediately the edges and interior of the left side of the paper crinkled heavily as it split down the middle; simultaneously, the right side ignited into flames and burned to ash. "Focusing a small amount of energy into the paper will cause it to react in various ways. It may split in half for an affinity towards wind, crumple for lightning, burn for fire, turn to dust for earth and become saturated for water.... for darkness it would darken and dissolve into black ash, while for light... I'm not that sure how it'd react for light, but for ice it would freeze," he explained.

Akiraa smiled slightly, somewhat amused in spite of herself. She tried to fight back a giggle at their teasing of their male friend and failed. She quickly snagged one of the papers he'd brought out when his gaze flickered to Roe.

Ryuusei cocked an eyebrow as he noticed Aerie looking his way before he heard Roe's muttered words clearly. He wasn't sure why it amused him more than irritated him, since that sort of thing did usually annoy him. He cocked his head, glancing at Roe without blinking as his normally deep golden orange eyes shifted to a deep reddish orange that glowed ever so slightly. He let the Kazangan dispel after a few seconds, glancing at Akiraa, who grinned for a moment before blushing. That's an interesting trick... I wonder whose that is, if that's his 'inherited abilities' he got from his parents, she thought. She was certain that Ryuusei couldn't listen in on her and Aerie's telepathic connection, though apparently he didn't need to. "I inherited that from my mother... who got it from an incident herself," he said simply.

Akiraa nodded, shifting so she could rest her forearm on one raised knee. She was surprised when Ryuusei snagged her and Aerie's dishes quickly.

Ryuusei grabbed Akiraa's plate and glass and balanced Aerie's on the tips of his other hand. He glanced at Roe, cocking his head slightly. "No sense in letting our hostess do all the work," he said mildly. He grunted sharply as Kubiro, who had dropped off of his shoulder when he'd moved, had casually swatted his leg with one paw and caused it to fly up off the floor as he darted forward and sank his sharp little teeth into Ryuusei's earlobe. Akiraa's jaw dropped at the sudden antagonism of the small weasel guardian. Is it just me, or do those two have a love-hate relationship? she murmured to Aerie. She saw the plates fly up into the air, but was surprised when Ryuusei simply grabbed Kubiro and ripped him off his ear, leaving neat slashes in his earlobe before tossing him almost angrily aside. She rose quickly, but was surprised when Ryuusei caught both plates and flicked his own up before snagging the two glasses out of the air. And he's an acrobat... she thought, now a little confused as he sat up, placing both glasses atop the plates as he winced slightly from the blood dripping from his ear. He glanced to the side as Kubiro stuck his head out of a nearby bush in a planter near the window. "Attention hog... his ego doesn't allow him to be ignored for long," Ryuusei muttered under his breath.

Akiraa sighed softly, ignoring Aerie's choice of words.

Kubiro smirked, snickering slightly before he detonated in a flicker of golden light and vanished. Ryuusei grimaced. "Damn demon," he muttered, not meaning to use those words though they slipped out. He stood carefully, not noticing the small amount of blood staining his jeans and calf from where Kubiro's claws had scratched him. I do hope nobody heard my choice of words... it'll be kinda hard to explain, he thought. He smiled slightly at Roe, sheepish at his demon guardian's antics while ignoring the snickering laugh in the back of his mind.

Akiraa smiled faintly at Roe's nicknames for them, but took the dishes and placed them in the sink. I'm sure you noticed his choice of words... I get the feeling they weren't necessarily meant as insults, from his tone of voice, she murmured to Aerie.

Ryuusei exhaled slowly, sitting in a lotus style position without thinking about it, his injured leg on top. "Should have chosen Kaminari," he muttered under his breath. He knew that one of the Hokage's two daughters had the contract to summon Kaminari, the daughter of the Katamari that her mother could have summoned, though he knew that both would have been subject to what he held within him.

Akiraa tilted her head slightly, her body tensing slightly.

Ryuusei cocked his head, faintly amused. "She's a friend, actually; my mother and I have a talent for communicating with those of the weasel family, mainly through what was within her for quite a while... that's a can of worms I'm not quite ready to open yet, though I can assure you I've seen odder healing methods," he said, mildly amused. He heard a slight ripping and glanced down, realizing his fingernails had lengthened slightly and sharpened since he was precisely one-eighth weasel demon.

Akiraa blushed suddenly, glancing down at the floor.

Ryuusei cocked his head. "Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the particular accents here.... most of the time I didn't lean much towards paperwork anyway; I'm better with physical activity," he said idly, cocking his head to one side with a half smile that seemed both vulnerable and roguish at the same time. He glanced momentarily at Akiraa, who glanced up and blushed again in return. Wonder what's up with her, he thought.
