Plant HP: 71
Sugilite briefly considered going back to the more full frontal assault of tearing bits off, the results had been so much more satisfying. However, she decided that tearing a youma to pieces wouldn't be looked upon as the same thing as taming it, and held back.

Sugilite had been right to suspect the youma of hidden reserves, as it momentarily flew at her in a rage. Thankfully it was so weak and tired that she was able to fend it off without much difficulty. Sighing thankfully, she tried not to imagine how it would have ended had the plant tried that on her at the start.

Bees. BEES. Sugilite was forced to halt her attack as she crouched down, shielding herself with the fronds she had previously torn off the creature, wrapping herself in them to try and avoid the stings. They worked, for the most part, but by the end she was still fighting not to itch.

A vision that suddenly became distorted as she leaned too close to a bud, the spores floating up and into her face. The girl automatically breathed in, exhaling without coughing, like a champ, and immediately burst out laughing.
Unfortunately for the plant, she simply became more inspired. "You're going to be the prettiest belle at the ball, when I'm through with you!"

Again the youma charged her, and again she held it back without much effort. It was almost pitiful to watch it now, madly struggling to get at her, but Sugilite was still smarting from the stings and remembered the instructions to tame the creatures. This was clearly not tame. There was still some work to be done.

Why was it, she thought bitterly as she shielded herself against another wave of bees, that the more she beat the thing down the more it retaliated? Perhaps she should stop. But no, Sugilite was going to get one last kick in, in return for these stings.

Sugilite stood back, breathing heavily. The youma hadn't retaliated from her last firm kick, had barely even hissed. It lay on the ground, swaying back and forth slightly. There might have been a little more fight left in it, but she wasn't about to risk another bee swarm to find out. Brushing some plant juice off her dress, Sugilite went to sit down and relax.

Well, it was working. Just a little more clearing, and Howlite could get to the meticulous pruning. One could hope that the youma wouldn't let the garden get this bad again, but she highly doubted it.

Both hands gripped tightly at the base of one of the outer plants, and Howlite bent her knees, before straightening, using most of her weight to yank hard. When the roots broke free of the soil, she almost fell onto her a**, stumbling backwards, before dropping the writhing thing.
The end was in sight!

Care was taken, suddenly, to move a small critter from the plant. It was incredibly hard to tell if the tiny youma was a separate entity, or part of the plant itself, and she didn't want to harm something she hadn't been instructed to.
As it was set aside, she turned back to the plant with gusto.

Branches and vines and leaves were torn and stomped and thrown to the side, Howlite bulldozing through the work with a strange sort of methodological frenzy. At this point, she was no longer paying attention to the others in the garden, concentrating entirely on her work.
Soon, it'd be time to start trimming, and Howlite knew quite a bit about trimming.
