She was upset, that much was obvious. Freya made it sound like it was her fault, but Herryk didn't think it was. He'd really screwed up by acting like a brute, and now he'd have to work doubly hard to fix things. Herryk wasn't really sure how he'd manage that, but he would. It was his fault that things had moved too fast. He was inexperienced and he'd let his eagerness control his mind.
Herryk shook his head once, moving one step forward. Reaching forth with one hand, he cupped her cheek and pressed his lips to her forehead before pulling back, pressing his forehead to hers. The proximity caused his nose to bump into hers, and when he spoke his voice was soft.
"Why wouldn't Herryk want to take Freya out on more dates? It is not Freya's fault that things moved too fast. It is Herryk's fault." His brows dropped in a frown and he closed his eyes as if trying to figure out how to put what he wanted to say.
"After the field trip, Herryk will show Freya that he can control himself. Freya is a nice ghoul and Herryk should have treated her as one, not like..." he waved his free hand as he tried to come up with the proper phrase, "...not like a piece of meat," he ended weakly, exhaling. He was doing a fine job of screwing this all up. He should leave before he made things worse.

Freya's eyes widened marginally when his lips touched her forehead, and the feel of that kiss, more than the others, managed to soak through her to the bone. Maybe it was because it was innocent, and maybe because it meant he didn't hate her - but she guessed that the real reason she felt the force of that one kiss all the way down to the tips of her fingers was because he had done it. Not her.
And warning signals started flaring up from every corner of her brain.
The only thing she could manage to say in her state was a mirror of the same thing she'd said to him earlier, but her tone was drastically different. She'd said it when they'd first entered her room, and then it was a release, a surrender. She'd been ready to give in, then.
Now, it sounded like a frightened acceptance.
"Okay, Herryk." She whispered, darting her eyes up at him carefully and then nodding. "Okay."

The hand that cupped her cheek slipped along her jawline so that he could grasp her chin gently between index and thumb. Lifting her face, Herryk gazed into her eyes for a long, silent moment before he slowly -- hesitantly -- pressed his lips to hers. It was almost as if he was testing himself. The fluff in his belly returned, the ache in his gut. He grit his teeth and pulled away before things could get too heated. Offering Freya a strained smile, he pulled back and moved through the door.
"Apologize to Hel for Herryk, please? Herryk will see Freya at the field trip."
That strained smile softened as he drank her in before he moved out of the door and headed back to his own dorm. It had been an... interesting day, to say the least, and Herryk had a lot to think about.

Freya's head hit the wall with a soft, thudding sound, when he looked at her. His eyes were crystal and light, burrowing down into her without her permission. They were looking for the secrets she buried deep down inside to keep from feeling anything, and they were doing a hell of a job. When he finally kissed her, her eyes closed for once, and all of her senses pinpointed down to the feeling that was brushing against her lips. When it pulled away, she took her time getting her senses back, and her eyes just barely opened when he spoke.
"Okay." That was pretty much the only word he was getting out of her anymore. Then the doorway was empty, and she was standing in her dorm room alone.
The sound of the wall clock ticked away in the silence, as she stood unmoving.
Tick.
Tick.
Tick.
She slid down the wall, thudding against the floor, and her head fell into her hands.
"Oh, no."
She was screwed.
