Jove flinched slightly as his hair was ruffled, his wide blue eyes the only direct similarity that might have sparked some memory for the pricioli. But she backed off... And for a minute Jove was safe. Maybe it was because Seiji was right there, or maybe she didn't even recognize him in that form! That would be great, all he would have to do to stay safe was to never ever change into his natural form.
Unlikely.
But he couldn't stay scared forever, it was clear she wasn't going to do anything frightening at the moment, she was even offering things for other people to eat! Jove thought something had smelled really nice.
The little wisp glanced up at Seiji, silently asking the older boil if he wanted to go get snacks too, but his head tilted at the clearly exhausted state of his friend. Jove was tired too, but he was used to pushing himself to his limit, and by now was fairly resilient. If somewhat worried. With a little bit of a whine, he gave Seiji's arm a shake, just to make sure the ghost was okay.

"Thank you, Shehk! Are those the FEARleading outfits?" Bea asked curiously to the ghoul. The answer was obvious, but it was too adorable not to point out. As she stood there playing with a lock of her hair mixed with a strand of seaweed, she noticed a poster she had missed the first time looking over the stand. "Oooooh~!" she exclaimed with interest, "what's this about an eating contest?" Bea perused the flier for a bit to get a better gist of it. It sounded... Messy...
Nahm caught her attention for a bit with his friendly gesture. "Ah, it's Nahm!" addressing the boil. "Definitely! I wouldn't want to miss this!" She assumed he was talking about the obstacle course. "Just a moment, I'll join you shortly, okay?" She smiled warmly at the boil and turned her attention back to Shehk for an answer about the eating contest. Though the commotion between the big hulking boil and the valkyrie ghoul was getting incredibly distracting.

Herryk looked apologetically at Shehk, giving a sort of a 'can you believe this broad' gesture in Freya's direction. Turning his attention back to Freya, he gave a mock yawn before grinning at her again. Of course, he wasn't going to deny himself the pleasure of taking in the view she provided. She was so pale -- her skin, her eyes, her hair.
Herryk liked.
After watching her wriggle around for a few moments, Herryk rose to his feet. If she remained latched on to his arm, she'd be dangling a few feet in the air. Maybe more than a few feet.
"Herryk wins?" Of course he did.

Freya stopped struggling when she was lifted right off the ground, and hung off of his arm like a rag doll. Her eyes slit in a flat, unamused glare, and she pouted visibly.
"I'll finds a way to brings yeh down, baby boil." She warned him with a scathing tone. "Just when yeh least expect it, I'll be there." Her eyes opened wide and she pointed at her eyes, then his, as if to say I'M WATCHING YOU.
Then she let go of his fist, dropped to the ground, and sulked.

"Yeah," Roch said, leaning down slightly so he was heard over the arguing pair. "I'm goin' to Spooks or maybe just the cafeteria. Too many..." Well, Xiu knew. "And I'm jackin' exhausted." He took the phone, slipping it into his vest. "Wanna come?"
His arms hurt. He had no idea how people could arm wrestle--oh wait, they probably hadn't finished the course... or in that big guy's case, had more muscle than weight mass.

Herryk watched her drop to the ground before he mimicked her gesture with the whole GOT MY EYES ON YOU action. He shook his head, not sure how to respond to her threats. "Herryk is not afraid of ladybird," he said smugly, flashing her another bright grin. "In fact, Herryk will be always waiting for the bird-attack." That comment made him laugh. Oh, Herryk. Always cracking himself up.
His thoughts idly turned to himself. Every time he used his natural ability to enlarge himself, he sometimes had to wait for hours before shrinking back down to his normal size. It was also a little exhausting.
Turning towards the concession stand, Herryk browsed the vast array of food though he kept one eye on Freya at all times. Birds were sneaky, they were.

This one was so INFURIATING! Freya stomped her foot on the ground, her fists curled up tightly, and she whirled around to face him.
"Stops callings me ladybird! I haves a name, use it!" She poked him square in one of his giant biceps. And then did it again for good measure. "It's Freya. FREYA. Is that too hard for the baby boils to pronounce?" She tried to reach up and move his lips while she said it again. It was hard to reach up that high. "Freeeeeeeeyaa. Freya. Say it now."

Herryk snorted and rubbed his arm where Freya had prodded him.
"Maybe Herryk calls you bossybird instead," he said mildly, watching for her reaction. She was a feisty little ghoul and if he was smaller he might be afraid of her. "Bossybird bossybird." She sure had some grabby hands, that was for sure. He snapped his teeth at her in a somewhat playful, somewhat serious gesture before rolling his eyes.
"Freya. FREYA. FREEEEEEYA."
Snorting again, Herryk splayed a large hand across his most impressively bare chest. "HERRYK."

"Ja you gots it, finally. Though Bossybirds is better than Ladybirds because that means yeh accepts that I am your boss." She puffed up proudly, though it deflated somewhat when he told her his name. That sounded.. familiar. Like home.
It was a weird moment.
"Okay, Herryk. You're number four." What? "Now go gets ready to gets your a** whoops in this contest, because even though you mights be stronger, Freya's going to show you what a real valkyrie can do." The proud puff was back.
"ROCH!" She turned around and pointed at the reaper, who was.. trying to get away! "We have to makes sure we beat Herryk. Everything rides on this! EVERYTHING."
Why, exactly, had she just pulled poor Roch into this? He didn't seem as competitive, but suddenly he had to beat Herryk as well, or Freya would consider this a loss.
Well, he was her Third New Friend.

"Mm," Roch agreed, a slight grin on his face as he gave her a two finger salute. "I'll--do what I can," he added with a hint of modesty. He had almost said he'd do his best, but be jacked if he wanted to go through that again. Even if he HAD planned on giving Xiu his phone for a back up plan.

Yup, she knew. While she hoped that he eventually got over this dislike, now that the Baku knew where it stemmed from, she definitely didn't feel like she could force him to change. "Huh? W-well, I, uh..." It wasn't as if she was doing too much here, but at the same time, she had been contemplating trying out the course to see how she did.
...Xiu promptly told herself that that wasn't a good idea.
"But if you're tired, shouldn't you go back to your dorm to rest?"

Roch gave Xiu a wicked grin, leaning down again to ask, "Want to go on that dream date already, huh? Have you tried the course yet, though?" he asked, suddenly curious. "I'd like to watch if you do. I can encourage you or something."

Xiu leaned back as he leaned in, eyes widening in surprise at his teasing. This was followed with her puffing out her cheeks in her usual pouting face. "Roch, I never said...! Y-you said you were tired!" Leave it to Roch to find a way to tease her over a simple, well-meaning comment!
"A-and I..." Her tone took a slightly more nervous turn at the mention of the course. "I...I don't know. I don't think that I, uh..." She did want to try it...but maybe not now. Maybe it would be better to wait?
Though she wasn't sure what exactly she was waiting for.

"Don't think what?" he asked quietly. "Xiu, look at me," he said, reaching down and nudging her chin with his bent forefinger. "Even if you fall, wouldn't it be better to say you tried it? Even if it takes you a ton of tries, don't you think that's better than never trying in the first place? Hey, I'll do something for you if you try it. What should I do?"
A little grin pulled at his lips as he thought about it. "How about I promise I'll go rest if you do it? That'd probably get you motivated."

He...had a point. She would probably just be disappointed in herself if she didn't even try once, and...okay, that deal of his was pretty tempting. Xiu was probably too much of a busybody and a worrywart, but considering how Roch was the other time she had seen him, it was only natural for her to be a little concerned about the reaper's health, right?
"...Okay." She sighed finally. She turned away briefly to look towards Shun and Mitsu, gesturing in the direction of the course. "I...I'm going to go give it a try. Wish me luck, okay?" She would need it!
...Okay, off she went.
