Claire continued to stretch as she watched the guys figure out what they were going to do. She smirked and shook her head, wondering what kind of competition they were going to start today. After she finished stretching she made her way over to the bike and set the time for 15 minutes. As she was pedaling, she watched the guys across the room lifting dumbbells. For some strange reason, Alex was catching her attention today. Claire quickly looked away, wondering what had come over her. Alex was like an older brother to her, not someone to check out.

"I'd have to agree." Lee replied. Lee took a few minutes to stretch his arms and back and then picked out some weights that would suit his strength the best. He wanted to work his way up starting with a lighter weight, that isn't too light of course. Lee did a few warm up excersises with the weights not really paying attention to Alex. It was known that Alex was a bit more fit and stronger then Lee in most causes such as this one but Lee learned to accept it. It was only when Claire was nearby or observing their progress that Lee was reminded of how much of an underdog he was compared to Alex. Lee just listened to the music playing in the speakers above and switched to a slightly bigger weight after a while and rotated arms with every set he did. Lee glanced over at Alex who was busy with his own exersise and noticed his arms. Sheepishly, Lee looked down at his own arms and sighed. There was a slight noticable difference but nothing too crazy. Lee walked back to the dumbbells to switch out again and shyly took one that was slightly heavier then the ones Alex was using at the moment. This isn't too bad... he thought. He started to do a simple lifting exersises with it but found that his arm was shaking tremedously as he strand himself. He wasn't able to finish the exersise and found himself rubbing his sore arm in defeat.

Daniel Alexander Johnson~ Alex had just put down his current dumbbell to switch to another one when he took a slight sideways glance and caught Claire's quick look, but he continued to mind his own business and thought nothing whatsoever of it. He didn't even acknowledge how Lee was faring, either. After his cell phone's alarm rang, indicating that his fifteen minutes were up, he arose and walked towards a bike that was only a few others away from Claire's. The bikes weren't much of a challenge for him, in fact it bored him, so after another eight or so minutes he shifted to the back of the gym and arrived at an unoccupied treadmill. Upon stepping onto the piece of equipment he started out with a light jog and gradually sped up until he was at a steady and effective speed.

Claire finished up on the bike just as Alex was starting. She gave him a sideways glance as she walked past and make her way to the dumbbells. She picked up a couple 15 lb. weights and started doing lunges back and forth across the mat. When she finished with that she put the weights away, turned to Lee, and asked, "Will you spot me on bench press?"

Lee put the weight back as Claire came over and stretched his arm for a bit. He looked over at Claire and nodded. "Of course I will." He smiled and followed her to the bench press. Lee waited until she was ready to begin positioning himself at the front where the bar was to hold it when she needed.

Claire walked over to the bench press and put the weights on either end. She then laid herself down on the bench and looked up at Lee. Smiling, she situated her hands on the bar before nodding to have Lee help her. After the bar was on her chest she started her reps. Claire did not know why she enjoyed the bench press. She did not need the arm muscles, after all. She figured it was because she wanted to look tougher than all the other girls that just went to the gym to do easy workouts. Chuckling at the thought, she lost her concentration for a moment and the bar landed on her chest with a soft thud. "Oof!" Claire said, thankful that she was not lifting a lot of weight.

Lee smiled back reasurringly and kept his hands positioned under the bar lifting it only ever so lightly with her. He was impressed with how well she was doing. "You're doing great." he had said encouragingly. He couldn't help but admire her like he always did in any situation for that matter but like always he also discouraged himself from doing that too often. She was only a friend, that's all they will ever be is friends so why? His smile faded slightly and he averted his eyes briefly. Not expecting what was coming after though he hastily grasped the bar lifting it off of her chest and looked down at her with worry. "Claire, your not hurt are you?" He felt so guilty. "I'm sorry."

"Yeah, I'm fine," Claire said, smiling as she sat up and rubbed her chest. "Just caught me off guard. There's no need for you to be sorry; I lost my concentration for a moment." She stood up and looked across the room at the squats, deciding against them today. "Well, I'm goin' to run now." Claire pat Lee on the arm before heading over to the treadmills. Alex was still running and the only treadmill open was the one next to him. Claire started up on an easy jug, mentally telling herself to keep looking forward. There was no need for her to look at Alex... She caught herself glancing out of the corner of her eyes and quickly closed them. Claire Rose Bentley! Sam broke up with you yesterday! And you swore off men! Alex is like family. He is like a protective older brother. A caring... attractive... older brother... Claire felt a blush rise on her cheeks and shook her head. Stop it!

Daniel Alexander Johnson~ Alex was about ten minutes into his jogging session when Claire joined him on the treadmill next to his own. However this time it was impossible to ignore her internal conflict, which seemed to have progressed from the last one he had caught. Eh? He had no idea what to make out of this as he watched the whole thing proceed, although he was able to keep his head foward while he continued to jog as if he weren't watching at all. It's not that he was so surprised that he couldn't think of anything; it's that he just doesn't react much to anything. ((ooc; Just in case anyone was wondering, Alex didn't make his plan right now because he doesn't even know yet that Lee likes Claire :3))

Not even five minutes into her run, Claire stopped the treadmill and left the weight room. Once she was in the hall she took a swig from her water bottle and started pacing, hands on her hips. Get it together, Claire! she thought. You have no time to be silly like this. You have a concert tonight. Deep breaths, girl. Deep breaths. Claire stopped pacing and closed her eyes. She took a few deep breaths before opening her eyes again. I think it's time for yoga. And with that she walked down the hall from the weight room and into the yoga room just in time for a new session.

Lee's guilty expression didn't seem to change even after Claire's reasurrance but he nodded anyway. "Well, thats good." he replied letting her go to do some running and of course taking note of her kind pat on his arm. Lee finished up and was about to join the others on the treadmill but Claire was already leaving and walked out of the door of the weight room. A little confused he walked over to Alex and got on the treadmill that Claire had been on a minute ago. "She didn't run long..." he observed but shrugged it off as he started himself at a quick walking pass to warm up. He looked over at Alex and then away shyly. Having these feelings on his mind and keeping them to himself for all this time was getting to him, maybe Alex could give him some advice. "So Alex, I was just wondering. Um what do you think of Claire?" He asked uncomfortably. He didn't know the best way to bring up such a topic and wondered if there was a better way to go about this.
((ooc: I can change that if you want, I can make Lee spill the beans by accident lol))

Daniel Alexander Johnson~ Alex looked somehwhat-puzzledly at Lee when he asked his strange question. Well, almost strange. He knew somewhere in the back in his mind that Lee thought something of Claire, and he would have grinned in mockery if he hadn't stopped himself. "She's great, I guess," he replied with a shrug as the treadmill started to slow down in an attempt to stop. He didn't bother asking why; when the machinery stopped he simply got off and walked towards the bike area. Then, arriving at a bike, he mounted on the seat and began pedalling. ((ooc; Alex would start his plan when Lee admits his love for Claire, so you can decide when the plot should start .w. Also sorry this post is weak, it's because I think it's too early for Alex to become suspicious, given his personality x3))

Lee nodded in agreement ignoring the fact that Alex was showing disinterest in the subject. "Yeah, She's something special." He sighed like a person who's been lovestruck. Lee looked over to realize that Alex was walking away. what was he doing trying to get advice from Alex? he wouldn't care. Lee hung his head as he thought about his next move and decided he would just follow Alex. "Um what I really wanted to ask was how do you think she would handle it if one of us started to....well you know...."like" her? he tried to stay casual about this but it was proving to be difficult.
