BarrelOfSlothAndDucks Oh,I just saw the word bizarre and thought the word creepy. http://www.moillusions.com/wp-content/uploads/photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5639/2020/400/strange.jpg So what you're saying is something like the picture above me? Or a bit less like the one below me? http://www.templates.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Charmed-Castle-by-Sagitarii.jpg Escher-esque, no... that would be harder on the poor artist then a million balloons! I was thinking more along the lines of the Burrow from Harry Potter... except, y'know... castle-y.

Spottedteddybears BarrelOfSlothAndDucks Oh my goodness these are wonderful!!! I looked at the first one and thought it would be the best but then the second one was just as great and the third and fourth one! It has that mystical and mysterious look!!! whee Thanks! Of course, we have to get approval from the host too! >w< But, yeah, this is an outline! I should be saying thanks to you, for showing these beautiful pictures! In my personal opinion the first ones my favorite with the second coming to a close second 3nodding I just wish it didn't have that spacey backround. It makes the castle seem way high up in the sky. Otherwise it would have been my favorite I like how the staircase is barely seeable yet very long 3nodding

BasiWolff More towers. But I agree. That sort of nonsensical architecture... maybe without some of the more creepy elements, though. As for the other pictures you posted, I really like them. I especially like the stairway on the first and the architecture of the second... The first stairway is great. The second architecture is tiny, but very nice, mansionlike. As for the the other link I posted, yes, this is kind of creepy. Delicate and glass-like, that's how I picture the queen and her castle. That mansion is very modern, but the castle should be medieval or Victorian, at latest.

I meant the fourth. Sorry. The second is pretty, but I like the fourth best. So pretty... given a little more oddity!

Of course, if we ask someone to edit it, maybe. I wonder if I need permission to do that... O.O The castle should be in the coulds, but not too high up.

But I haven't seen a castle like the one you described so I can't judge yet. *gets ready to start looking*

I'm not sure if we're allowed to edit it maybe if someone gave credit but I don't want to take any risks for copyright and what not. But I think it may just be the purplish color that's bothering me.

Spottedteddybears Yes, the fourth is eerie and beautiful too! XD It looks like a place that a fairy-blooded queen would live in, with a forest of thieves surrounding.BarrelOfSlothAndDucks Oh! I see! Lemme find a sketchbook.

*flails* So. Many. Ideas. 1. I love the pictures that are being found for castles. The only thing that I want to stress is that having a floating castle is mystical and fantasy like, yes, but I feel that we should reign in a little bit on the idea and keep it simple. We can't be too fairy-tale like for the same reason that fairy-tales isn't a theme, it's been too recent to the Fairy Tales ball. We should also ground the castle rather than having it connected to the clouds and the sky out of respect for Angel's room, the flying room. Anything that's too high up there in the sky is going to tread a bit on her theme, and I feel like we've got enough material and enough amazing thinking caps to keep it fun and real and also our own. 2. The idea I had for stair cases was that they'd be naturally formed stair cases, and wider, because I would personally like to lean in more towards the Medieval idea than the fantasy idea. There will be a lot of fantasy to be had in the dream world as it is, so it would be nice to see practical ideas as well (perhaps the castle can be more practical, and the floating aspect and how it floats can be the fantasy?) 3. This was the image I based my idea for the Isthmus on, here which also includes the two oceans. I'm now thinking, however, that we should replace one of those oceans with forest to keep it simple. However, if we're exploring the idea of crossing over with Angel's room I don't see why we can't have our own brand of old-fashioned pirates either. It's a possibility still. In fact, everything that's been suggested is still a possibility. I'm not raining on anyone's parade (or pissing in your cheerios <3) so let's keep the ball rolling as quickly as it's been rolling all weekend!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I thought about the stealing of the Queens heart... at first I worried that it would be too dark for the ball, though I personally love it (because I'm a super fan of dark themes, hehe)... but we can still do it. However, when we do it, we can't be gross about it or graphic. In fact, if we do it then we will have to be a bit silly about it and make it more fantasy than reality.
Like PoTC, when Davy Jone's heart was given away. It won't be the Queen's literal heart plucked out leaving some gaping hole or something, but it will be something more mystical (think sailor moon, with the glowing balls of light that represent people's hearts and souls when they do their dramatic story lines.)
The Prince of Thieves can keep it on his person in a locket or something.
